  1. That was kinda what I was driving at... but thanks for being more succinct.
  2. What level of difficulty are you playing on?
  3. I swear that I have seen demo charges being thrown from a building in CMBN 1.10. I will look through my old save games.
  4. With a name like Hector you should be good at holding out during long sieges.
  5. Yes indeed. H2H battle outcomes often end up being decided by who has the last tank.
  6. I must say that it's quite fun sitting down here amongst the 'great unwashed', and looking up at noob and bigduke6 fight it out on their high horses.
  7. No image of a 'perfectly accurate panzer' ever brought a tear to my eye, but the butterfly scene at the end of "All Quiet on the Western Front' did.
  8. 10 second pauses... Ouch! Is there a Mac currently out there that can run CMFI smoothly even with the larger battles?
  9. Can your 27" iMac handle even the large battles with a decent graphical quality? I only ask because I am considering a replacement for my old 2008 iMac.
  10. What is even more amusing is that they have no contact with higher HQs - who exactly are they going to report their recon findings to? I guess they have to rely on pigeons or a good runner.
  11. Yup - that was my original reason for asking.
  12. Does anyone know if CMFI includes the possibility of a weapon being jammed?
  13. Pretty much hits the nail on the head. Personally, I would like to see a few more player aids and info feedback to allow players to really enjoy the 'Realtime' experience - but that's just me.
  14. Maybe those Italian units are just very cheap? But my machine just isn't up to a battle this size.
  15. Well, no wonder my machine baulks at the prospect of rendering a small QB battle - were they also this big in CMBN?
  16. I am appalled and at the same time transfixed by the brutal and visceral scene of bloody battle before my eyes... It's the end of the excellent CMFI training campaign 'Last Defence' and I feel slightly sick by the devastation I've unleashed upon my AI opponent. What have BFC done? Do they realise that they have taken the genre of cold and detached strategy games and injected it with an intensity and brutality that brings the player closer to the horror of the WWII battlefield than ever before? I'm not sure that these strange new emotions sit all that comfortably with me? I'm sure CMx1 wasn't like this! CMFI is wonderful and genuinely disturbing.
  17. Surely these 'turret skirts' are called something like `'collars' or 'ruffs' - I mean, who wears a skirt over their head? (don't answer that!) I will check to see if the round hit higher up than I first thought.
  18. Aha - that explains it then. So this PAnzer III is just visually missing its skirts - much like the various versions for PAnzer IVs in CMBN?
  19. [can't find the original discussion thread] So, here is proof - panzer III's are able to take a hit in the 'skirts' (sounds painful - I know). I remember someone mentioning that Panzer IIIs didn't have skirts during the Sicily campaign, so I'm not too sure if this is just an oversight or not.
  20. Is it a financial issue or perhaps JuJu just isn't interested in the Mediterranean campaign?
  21. Yup - I'm a big fan of the smaller scenario. I think they tend to show CM off at its tactical best - the player is able to really concentrate on the wonderful detail built into the game rather than simply being content with the large 'brush strokes' necessary to complete large battles. It's so much more rewarding when you get a up close and dirty - checking ammo counts, looking into unit combat modifiers to make sure you have the right team for the job etc. It's the small things that set CM above the rest.
  22. Now I can't remember if this was the case in CMBN, but there is no graphical representation of a 66mm HE attached to a rifle just prior to firing. Is this intended?
  23. If Vin and his modding compatriots are still out there: Any chance of 'Vin's Animated Text' for CMFI?
