  1. I've experienced this too. In setup IIRC I moved some units as a group close to the desired positions for them to be placed. The AT gun was placed just outside the setup zone and I was unable to change it's position any further during setup. It was beside a road not in a building. The map did have an unusual setup zone with part of it being a long thin strip, following a road which may have caused the gun to be placed outside the setup zone.
  2. I don't think I will be fully satisfied with WW2 untill my Pz38t trundles around a forest path and bumps into a KV-2 causing a mad scramble to bring up a 88 Flak gun. I don't even want to think how long it will take until we get to Eastern front 41.
  3. This thread should be stickied somewhere as per CMSF. I found moving machine gun squads forward with the assult and deploying part way to the objective can help a lot with supression fire.
  4. Another well deserved acolade for Battlefront! Iv'e been wondering why the lack of reviews, more from the mil gaming sites.
  5. Funny stuff. I remember my first model when I was 7, it was as a F4 Phantom model. I still have the scar in my knee cap.
  6. Nice find, it makes a difference in colour feels like i'm there. No thanks!
  7. New armour built to meet two main criteria. Low cost for budget conscious millitary forces and designed with acoustics in mind so the enemy can hear your prayers. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=750_1307911613
  8. Yes sorry, maybe I was a little harsh but over emotive negative thread titles kinda annoyies me. All good pcelt, enjoy the manual when it arrives, as I will.
  9. Some people need to learn patience, getting a life may help as well.
  10. Tried this mod, at first I thought it made things too dark and drab but it grew on me very quickly. Like the rest of your mods Vein, it's a keeper in my Z folder.
  11. The joy of seeing the frontal armour on your tank impervious to rounds is invariably tempered by seeing the tank quickly becoming imobilsed or having it's main gun knocked out.
  12. I kinda lost interest in these books when one novel mentioned Panzerfausts being used in 1941. Sometimes reality is stranger than fiction. I once met a WW2 SS tank commander who ended up a Major in the Australian Tank Regiment and served in Centruions in Vietnam. A very nice guy he also liked doing sculptures and intricate wood carved furniture.
  13. Firing artillery at a slower rate of fire gives you time to adjust and avoid wasting too many rounds if they are going off target. If spotting rounds land near your troops run away very fast. Don't let the rear of your Marders face the enemy. Small arms fire punching through the thin rear door will almost always soon follow.
  14. I guess we can expect the usual LOD pop up problem with this game.
  15. I love my ul80vt 1.3Ghz notebook. It accompanied me throughout SE Asia and now it's playing CM on max settings. I think the 1366 resolution helps... I miss my 26" monitor.
  16. I was impressed when a Panther crew bailed and the hatch at the the rear side the the turret opened. Really great detail in the models.
  17. I think BF did well picking the opening music.
  18. Just played another mission with rain. I turned shadows off this time and performance was fine.
  19. My weedy 1.3Ghz Notebook does not like rain. A toggle for rain would be welcome.
  20. I agree having a trunks only toggle option across the entire map would help a lot with awareness.
  21. Well I tried the demo on my only avaliable computer at the moment. A 1.3Ghz notebook and it not only runs but runs smoothly at max settings! Love the vehicle and unit graphics. It's also nice to see the penetration info is back not to mention that CM feeling. Time to pre order!
  22. Have a great trip. I almost booked there for my trip next week but settled on Cambodia and Thailand instead. Regarding the warnings about the locals, here's a abridged (clean) post from another website. And then the penny drops......."Is this the same scam where there is someone else under the bed ???" I tell you what, even though I half expected it, what a &$%*@%$ fright I got when I looked under the bed and saw this middle aged Vietnamese woman hiding under the bed! Me and the the girl were stark naked. The middle aged woman ran for it and I got dressed. The girl then said, "Give me $3 US for room for rent" !!!!!!!! I said, "Well, we can discuss this rent problem when I call the police" She said, "If you call the police, I will call my boyfriend and he will shoot you before police arrive" At that point, I thought, "Time to get the &$%^ out of there" 3 days later, again in Saigon, the same thing happened to me.....really modern fancy moped driven by a 10/10 girl and asked, "Where you go, do you want to go with me" and there was an older lady who got off the rear and handed me a helmet. I said, "I think the lady under the bed needs to stop stealing wallets". They gave me the dirtiest look and drove off at speed.
  23. It was visually spectacular, the CGI and the 3D was an eye opener. The story was pretty 2D though it did do a good job of arousing emotion in places. I must say I enjoyed District 9 much, much more.
