  1. Did you get a Battlefront.com Web Store Order Confirmation Email? NVM, read you edit.
  2. Wow, that staff comparison between CM:SF and Company of Heroes really speaks volumes about what Battlefront has achieved.
  3. Pre-ordered, really looking forward to a game with depth. Does anyone know what the size of the download is? NVM. I read 350 MB in another post. [ July 24, 2007, 12:59 AM: Message edited by: Spindry69 ]
  4. I find his nickname a lot less offensive than the way people childishly cut each other down on these forums. I mean really, we are all enthusiasts and we should be more supportive of each other.
  5. I think a lot of people are like me. They are excited by the graphics of TOW but would like it to have as much of the goodliness of CM as possible. A new CM with TOW graphics, optional orders system (CM orders phases or real time with pause), a campaign editor with experience levelling and equipment salvaging played on a large strategic front would be close to nirvana. Daydreaming aside i'm still keen to judge TOW on it's own merits. It defniately deserves at least that much.
  6. It would be really great if the proposed editor allows the creation of campaigns. The default campaigns seem too short. It would be nice to be able to recreate the long campaigns of the steel panther series.
  7. Um... my PC is two years old and is a 3.2 ghz. I really don't think the minimum specs are unreasonable for a 2006 game. Please go look at some of those gorgeous screenshots and be honest with yourself what it will need to run.
  8. Why not just have using enemy equipment an option in the option menu.
  9. I think learning how to drive a WW2 tank would be a lot harder to learn without training than a car; especially the tanks with crude steering and gearing.
  10. So I gather that there will be detailed damage to crews on armour penetration. How about an increased chance of damage to the crew of tanks that had riveted armour (where the armour hit sent broken rivets bouncing around inside the tank) and tanks that had a habit of "brewing up" upon penetration. I realise this might cause problems with keeping crews alive over sucessive missions where your trying to gain them experience, but it would certainly add to the "pucker factor".
  11. Very nice. It really is going to bring WW2 alive like never before.
  12. I was lead to believe that tank pivoting was used in combat. In fact that it was a speciality for the German tank ace Wittmann, but it was done sparingly because the pivot built up soil around the tracks thus risking throwing a tread. 13. Short of reading that book does anyone know of any web sites that go into Cholm in depth?
  14. Hey I wasn't complaining, just trying to figure out how it was possible. Besides my other Jadgtiger took out two Perishings. I do prefer the weaker Tanks but I find even Panthers and Jadgpanzers quite vulnerable later in the war when 76mm allied guns are common. I like the game because it can be unpredictable; I once played a game where I had two Tigers knocked out without a kill and a MarderII saved the day.
  15. Hmm.. maybe my Jadgtiger had that bumper sticker from Forest Gump on it; "Sh@t Happens".
  16. No it just said front super structure penetration.
  17. Hey I just had the front super structure of my Jadgtiger (250mm / 15 slope) penetrated and knocked out by a Bazooka ( 90 pen at 0 slope). How is this possible? Is it anything to do with the Bazooka being a hollow charge? Regards.. Crispy.
  18. Battlefield Vietnam, the choppers rock. I am looking forward to Rome TW,Wartime Command and eventually Operation Flashpoint 2.
  19. I have an Athlon 1200, A7A266 Mother Board and a Geeforce 4 MX 440. With CBBO fully modded with hi res graphics it pans smoothly. However CBAK is jerky. Any thoughts?
  20. WW1... So how much would Poison Gas cost... Sounds gory. Napoleonics, I really think Total War should do that for their next game. It would look great ( take a look at Rome Total War!) and it has the strategic element.
  21. I bought CMBO special edition from EB. When I got home I found there was no CD in the box! I returned it and explained it to them. They refunded my money but were looking at me like I was ripping them off. Funny thing is it wasn't the first time I had bought a game from them with no CD in the box. I'm interested in buying CMBB online but whats the deal with foreign currency exchange rate? I'm in Australia.
  22. When purchasing commanders, changing their experience affects their purchase cost. However I noticed that changing their leadership skills ( command, combat, ect) doesn't alter their purchase cost. So recently when playing against a friend we decided as commanders leadership skills are random to put these skills all to max. So I was wondering what you experts do when playing each other?
  23. I once played an operation where my defence depended on two tiger tanks. One was knocked out after taking out 12 tanks and vehicles. The other near the end of the battle went forward to destroy abandoned tanks. It survived, but when I loaded the next battle it had disapeared! I don't know if this had anything to do with it being well forward of the rest of my units at the end of the battle. The net result though was I wasn't happy and gave up an otherwise enjoyable operation.
  24. CMMOS4 was great. Thanking you kindly for your prompt reply.
