I guess there wasn't enough shiny things for them to go wow over.. -
British Kit / US marine kit

Actually it probally wouldn't get past the censors with all the profanity in the speech pack. -

An Australian addon would't be too difficult. Australia has Abrams and LAV's. Then just model the Bushmaster and that horrible desert cam. -
Unofficial Poll - who uses the camera keys
Spindry69 replied to Other Means's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
What would be nice is what is used in the RTS Supreme Commander. The location where your mouse is positioned on the mini map is where in the game world you zoom into when zooming. CMSF has no mini map so this could be translated to zooming in wherever your mouse is positioned in the game world. -
I do think there a too many Javelins in the game. One per squad seems a little excessive.

Send that in an e-mail to Steve, maybe I'll get a bonus Bil </font>

Drool... looks like the CM3 engine? I thought tanks were fine in urban areas providing infantry mutual support.

In many ways the animations and squad movement are superior to Armed Assult and thats a FPS. The CM2 engine is defniately quality, a little tweaking and this will be a classic.

Severe stuttering during gameplay
Spindry69 replied to Kramer's topic in Combat Mission: Shock Force Tech Support
I have a similar system to you and don't experience any slow down or stuttering while running CMSF on max settings. Intel Duo 1.86 Ghz (at 3 Ghz) 2 Gb Ram 8800 GTS 320 Mb 1680 x 1050 Resolution Stuttering can be caused many many things, here are a couple of guides that may help you track down your problem. http://www.tweakguides.com/Graphics_1.html http://www.tweakguides.com/TGTC.html -
Armoured Humvees would be really add to the game especially in smaller realistic scenarios. Maybe an addition in the Marines module?

v1.04: FPS at the prejudice of LOD?
Spindry69 replied to Knaust1's topic in Combat Mission: Shock Force Tech Support
1.04 is running much better for me now, the only thing I noticed is the wheels on the vehicles have a lower quality shape too them. Just curious if this was part of the optimization compromise to make CMSF run better and if so did the higher res/more rounded wheels have a big negative impact on frame rates? -
As much as I am enjoying CMSF and seeing it mature I can't help wishing there was more depth to it. The campaign feels like a lot of unrelated missions tacked together. Maybe I am dreaming but a campaign with real consequences after completing each mission would be gaming nirvana. Two examples spring to mind: Falcon 4 with it's real dynamic campaign and Steel Panthers where you nurse the same troops and equipment through multiple missions. Either of these two campaign mechanisms would be great and I dare say, earn the respect of PC game reviewers.

WW2 title. What to expect.

No force picks?! "Cue bawling CMSF kid". -
Problematic nVidia users... how is v1.04?
Spindry69 replied to Battlefront.com's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
Looking good here too, running Alla's fist with everything maxed out. Frame rates are between 32-58, low 40's average. With v1.03, running at reduced textures, it varied between a little bit laggy to downright horrible. When it was really bad I rebooted the PC and that always resulted in a smoother game. It really seems much improved now, great job! -
I really enjoyed the CMx1 series but I don't miss We-go at all. I tried it once in CMSF and went straight back to real time. I really think it's advantages outweigh any disadvantages. Also iv'e seen a lot worse team AI in Armed Assult than CMSF, but thats another story.. I think Battlefront are on the right path here and I think time will show that.

I'd like too see the Trojan Bear Suit, with applicable sound files of said inventor spouting crap.

Call of Duty viewed by a CMBB player...
Spindry69 replied to jtcm's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Wow.. Seal Team, I played that game to death. There's never been a game quite like it since. I think most of my missions resulted in flattened palm trees and burning hooches, not very stealthy.. -
What a nice surprise these new graphics are, what an improvement! It's even more fun and immersive now to zoom in on your squads on the ground. Thank you BF!

Hate to say I told u so but.....
Spindry69 replied to (fgm) falco's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
All I know is that i'm having a ball playing CM:SF right now, even with the acknowledged issues. The fact that Battlefront is very active on this forum and admirably honest about the present state of play means this great game is just going to get better and better. A win win for everyone. -
Lt Mike, Thanks for the pics, keep safe. I'm not an American, but boy am I proud of you guys. Regardless of the outcome, you are heroes. Never forget that!

Post here if you're superdigging CM:SF
Spindry69 replied to Echo Delta's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
I am really enjoying CM:SF. I like the realistic feel to it in that you need to advance slowly and methodicaly with troops and vehicles supporting each other. One hasty order and you will probally have dead soldiers. It feels like the real deal or as real as I can imagine it fram watching video footage from Iraq. Good stuff and it will only get better! -
Just wanted to express my thanks to Battlefront for all your hard work and for having the guts to develop gems like CM:SF.

Sorry but the pathfinding is a disgrace
Spindry69 replied to Bahger's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
I've had a similar problem with pathfinding. When commanding a vehicle to move a short distance forward iv'e seen them on several occasions move way forward before moving back to where I first commanded them to move too. This often leads to their demise as they move into enemy zones.
