Total beginner - first tips?
Blazing 88's replied to Azinctus's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Tips you say! This is some of what I enjoy doing... Always attack and attack again if you can, even if you are suppose to be the defender. When on defense, think offensive instead right off the bat. Hit 'em on the nose and then mop up the remanents. Always have a reserve for use as a fire brigade. Steel Panthers World At War... a true gem and free. I still have it on my HD on my old Win XP desktop. I haven't used it in years however. Jumped on board the CM machine in 2002 and didn't go back. I keep checking out what is going on with it though. Loved the Mega Campaign's Africa Korps and the Lost Battles aspect. Also I really liked how your core force kept track of promotions, kills, etc, during any campaigns. Would love that in CM. -

Request for Bulge bone (or two)
Blazing 88's replied to Placebo's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Hopefully a lot sooner than that since I don't have any interest in a Bulge or any late 44 to end of WWII time periods for that matter. I am hoping they crank these out quickly so the earlier war time periods 40-43, Kursk, Barbarossa, North Africa, France '40 can get some love faster at some point down the road. CMBS does not help this process however, as it will be getting modules that will take up time BFC's time as well (these however, I do look forward to getting). -
CMPzC Operation "Bloody Christmas" (Ortona '43)
Blazing 88's replied to kohlenklau's topic in Combat Mission Fortress Italy
Sort of the main reason I have never taken part in one of these. Not so much being "scared" as not having the time nor the interest to make an AAR/DAR. It's not my thing. Now if this PzC campaign layer could somehow be rigged to work against the AI, instead of having to have a human opponent and an Umpire, I would really enjoy that. -
I'd like to see them as well… smouldering on my electronic battlefield.

I get a 'Fatal error - we should have had a valid file ID' page when I click on your link.

Here is an example of what I am trying to get at. This was put together by Skwabie for CMFI... http://community.battlefront.com/topic/112695-the-chronicles-of-kg-skwabie-campaign-of-scenarios/?hl=%2Bchronicles+%2Bskwabie The Chronicles Of KG Skwabie... Been working on it for some time. It's a campaign with a core unit force linking all the single scenarios in CMFI/GL together as a campaign. However there're 34 single scenarios in the install in total, with tweaking the orbats, objectives, reinforcements and all the play-testing it's taken longer than expected. Plus I'm due away for work again without access to my PC. So here's the WIP campaign, linking the first 20 scenarios. The last one is the huge "Lancing the Abscess" battle attacking the Allied landing, so it's got a explosive ending for sure! Note: I did not make these scenarios! The credits all go to the talented original scenario creators. My effort only goes to making them into a playable CM campaign.... -

Thanks for these. Curious to know, would it be possible to link the QB scenarios together as a campaign? That could be very interesting as well. -

How do you deal with your perfectionism?
Blazing 88's replied to Alexey K's topic in Combat Mission Black Sea
I only fight against the ai. I have multiple battles or campaign's going on in every theatre of CMx2. I tend to do piece meal gaming with all the CMx2 titles, jumping back and forth between CMBN, CMFI, CMRT & CMBS /SF battles or campaigns week to week or day to day, depending on my flavour at that moment. This can take me weeks if not months to complete a battle or campaign. My turn rates as a human opponent would not be sufficent for most opponents. Also I do like other sims out there as well as using ZBrush /3ds Max, so I am not always totally commited to just using my spare time on CM. That is why I like to only play against the ai. -

I will only reload if I screw up something that I shouldn't have or forgot to do something… I will usually re-load before the replay is finished. Otherwise live and learn. -
Been away since Gustav. Advice please
Blazing 88's replied to W1ndy's topic in Combat Mission Red Thunder
Umm... I assuming you have not tried this Kursk campaign, Thunder Over Ponyri V2: http://community.battlefront.com/topic/116495-new-file-at-the-repository-thunder-over-ponyri-v2-2014-11-07/?p=1553455 -
'Tigers In The Mud' is in my collection. RIP.

Correct. The eventual Berlin one as well. I have little interest in those time frames during WWII. I will have lots to tide me over though until Kursk and earlier war time frames for CM are available. As well modules /vehicle packs for the existing CMx2 games that will surley come out I will be getting. I have to say, in regards to the modern time frame... I am really enjoying CMBS right now. Deadly.

Team Yankee? I have and read that novel.

New CMRT Campaign: The Cross of Iron
Blazing 88's replied to dragonwynn's topic in CM Red Thunder Maps and Mods
Thank you very much. I am one of those that only likes to use the German units most of the time in CMx2, so this is much appreciated. -
Elite, but I am trying out Iron lately (in all CM)… WEGO only.
