  1. sdp, I had difficulty finding/loading the Quick Battle Maps also. It seems that they show up only when certain types of Quick Battles are selected (Attack, Meeting Engagement, Probe, etc...) I think that I found them when choosing Attack. Are the AI plans set for a specific type of engagement? I just finished a Quick Battle on one of your maps and it was really beautiful. I had light rain set, with the Winter mod pack and it was very immersive! However, the AI did not seem to do much as far as reaching the objective. Can you please indicate what sort of Battle should be selected for each of your maps? Thanks again for such outstanding work.
  2. What a gamey bastaad, may your stocking be filled with reindeer dung....Happy Kwanzaa and a Merry New Year to you too.
  3. Hey Mord, Thanks for the heads up regarding SDP's mods. I downloaded all of them and am running an Italy - Winter - Quick Battle. They are fantastic. Just wondering, did the Germans really have such a variety of uniforms within one squad? I also downloaded your voice mods - thanks for the great work. And a special thanks to SDP for such an outstanding contribution to the community!
  4. I meant to say Iron Level rather than Elite. I always play on Iron level because I thought that it has the most realistic settings (i.e. artillery support times, buddy-aid, etc..) However, after checking the Manual I see that you are correct. Seems that the primary difference in Iron is the way spotting works for Friendly units.
  5. I watched it yesterday. Wondering why he is playing on Warrior setting rather than Elite? Hell, he says he is a retired infantry officer, or maybe that explains it.
  6. Uh... please excuse my ignorance, but who are the chaps we are looking at in the new screenshots; Poles, Canadians, and Brits? If so, which is which?
  7. Don't worry Sergei, none of us know what Michael is talking about either. He is probably referring to the story of his uncle - Cpl. Tadeusz Slomorowski, who was told to change a light-bulb over at the supply depot located on a farm called Le Pincon. Cpl. Slomorowski took his whole squad over there and one guy held the light-bulb while the other eight guys turned him in circles. Slomorowski's LT. was wondering what the hell took him so long to change a damn light bulb when he returned three days later, and so the Cpl. related a story of how he and his vailant squad had to fight off hords of German SS attacking Le Pincon. Hence Michael's confusion (sometimes happens when one gets on in years).
  8. That is Webwings artistic rendition of what Charles would look like if he were a real person, rather than just a Brain-in-a-Jar. This rendition will be used as the cover art for the new Steel-Box CM:CW module.
  9. I have seen the issue of shooting through "solid" walls in CM:A and CM:SF as well as CM:BN. It seems to me that this issue first cropped up in one of the later patches for CM:SF. So this really has nothing to do with the fact that the OP had troops in a Barn. This happens in all buildings.
  10. PTW, I really enjoyed your video series. Sounds like it was an incredible amount of work, and thank you for your effort. Do you have any plans for future releases? Have you considered doing the same sort of production for CM:SF or CM:A?
  11. Yeah Steve, welcome back to the maelstrom! Please don't go back to farming however, we missed you. As you pointed out, these types of posts are generally for psychological reasons such as a play for attention due to lonliness and isolation, and have little to do with the stated topic. So if we can all keep this in mind, and not respond, or just respond with compassion, then it will avoid all this back and forth stuff.
  12. Vaya con Dios. Adios Muchacho! p.s. If the real issue here, is that you are feeling lonely, isolated, and need some attention, well then, I hope you feel better soon. Getting out and participating in the world may help.
  13. Yes, Steve has been conspicuously absent since July, with a few rare sightings here and there. As Mr. Emrys mentioned, after a long period in absentia, Steve returns with a patch, a new module, or a new game. However, our Sponsor's absence this time "feels" different. I suspect that he may be in Quebec, lounging in the sand along the banks of the St. Lawrence river, ogling Canadian lasses while quaffing warm Moosehead. Heck, CMBN sold like hotcakes, so can you blame him?
  14. Outstanding! Thank you, much appreciated.
  15. And to add to what Mikey said, CM:Afghanistan even models some WWI and WWII era weapons. It is quite a game, and well worth a look. It would really benefit from some more user-made scenarios. - Back to the original topic, We would still be waiting for CM:BN if BFC decided to include SS, FJ, and British units. The module concept not only makes sense from a business standpoint, but also from a player perspective. We get a lot more content spread out over a period of time and something to always look forward to in the realm of Combat Mission.
  16. How do you have the Friendly and Enemy directions set in the Editor?
  17. Unfortunately, there is no un-acquire command in any of the CMx2 games so far.
  18. It is always recommended to remove any mods, disable anti-virus software, and complete any saved games before patching.
  19. Steve, I don't know if you saw my previous post in this thread, but the problem happened to me a month or so ago, prior to patch 1.32. I am running WinXP on my laptop, with XP patched and using SP3. I also have Norton AntiVirus 360 v. 5.1.0.29. Norton quarantined my NATO module. I reinstalled NATO and then started noticing the problem. So, I uninstalled CM:SF on my laptop and have yet to reinstall CMSF with all of the modules and patch 1.32. By the way I think it was one of Norton's updates that caused it to quarantine the NATO module, which occured sometime after my original install.
  20. We covered this issue extensively a while back - http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=96243
  21. My compliments to the chef(s). What BFC has done from a technical perspective is absolutely amazing. I have enjoyed all of their CM games and will continue to do so.
  22. Absolutely Mikey, and also nostalgic for the CMSF Forum without all of the noobie questions. Nice to see some activity here.
  23. Phantom Captain and MarkE, I also experienced this issue on my laptop. I had CMSF, CMA, and CMBN installed. I was getting CMSF units being named with stuff from CMBN. I have uninstalled CMSF (Marines, British, NATO) so I can't provide a screen shot. This issue happened prior to the new patch 1.32. The only thing I can think of that may have caused the corruption is Norton AntiVirus. At some point it apparently quarantined my CMSF NATO module. I reinstalled NATO a while back, and then recently noticed this issue. My CMBN and CMA installs on my laptop are fine, and I have not noticed any corruption of the unit names in these games. Hope this helps. Edit: wondering if the CM games share a registry file?
  24. The 2nd Patch Rule, is you don't start a 2nd Patch Thread.
