  1. I appreciate your input Steve Burke, but I would really like a response from Steve at Battlefront. Obviously, the CMFI-Gustav Bundle was not released this past week. So BFC please give an update on the release schedule and pricing. I really don't understand why information regarding Bundle options and pricing is not made available to your customers on the Battlefront website. It would be really helpful to provide the information on Bundles for CMFI and CMBN-CW-Market Garden, Bundle Options, and Costs, so that your customers can plan and budget what they will purchase.
  2. Steve, Will you please provide some information on when the CMFI & Gustav Line Bundle will be available and the cost? Additionally, will there definitely be a Commonwealth & Market Bundle for CMBN. I know you said in the past that you were planning on making that available. If so what sort of pricing do you have in mind?
  3. Once again, I hereby request a negation of the truncation, if approved by the Forum members. Otherwise, I make a motion that Michael Emrys be futurely and honorifically called "Sir Michael Emrys" or for short, "Sir Emrys".
  4. It's a really sad place around here without Emrys' (The World's most Interesting Man) sig lines. I petition the old man to bring them back. By the way, where is Mord??
  5. I have also seen this happen numerous times since CM:SF and through every CMx2 iteration since then. I have primarily seen it with tanks shooting shells at infantry, but have also seen it with other heavy weapons as well.
  6. ^ Very funny, and I agree with the above mentioned sentiment. I do wonder if there is a technical way around this issue. Maybe a modification could be made to the existing communication modeling that would allow a borg scout or unit to store sighting contact information in "RAM" until that unit is back online with its normal communication links. At that point the sighting information (contacts) would be available to the other units in the chain of command and player (god's view).
  7. I am being very real. In fact that is why most of us read the Forums and play CM is because of Battlefront's dedication to realism. Exploiting an inherent flaw in the game engine, is in fact, gaminess. I am just calling a spade a spade. I feel that there should be standard operating procedures or house rules for human vs. human game play, especially in a public AAR showcasing a new module. One of these rules should prevent the use of borg scouts. Acting on and processing information received from scouts should only be accepted if there is a clear chain of communication between the scout and his commanding officer. This could be visual or radio net, or a combination, however there must be clear lines of communication. No offense meant to Bil, since apparently house rules were not set before the scenario started. However, the use of borg scouts to bring heavy fire power on the Allied Force will affect the game outcome.
  8. It should be standard operating procedure to not use intel gained in a gamey way. As I mentioned above, Bil should not use any spotting info learned from his borg scouts until they return to near their commanding officer. Another way to handle this situation would be to use only troops equipped with radios as scouts. Otherwise we are dealing with a non-realistic scenario here.
  9. I smell something gamey, and it's coming from Bil's Kubel Wagon (KW)scouts. They do not appear to be equipped with radios and neither are the KW's. So how are these scouts relaying information back to Capt. Bil? Is Bil acting on the information gained from these borg scouts? He should not act on any information gained from these scouts, until they return to their KW's and drive back to Capt. Bil's HQ.
  10. Once again ad nauseum, Sir Michael nails it.
  11. Thanks Bil. I appreciate the effort and time you are putting into these AAR's.
  12. Bil, will you consider making a video of the map in addition to the screenshots? It will help to give us a better perspective of the terrain and what the pixeltruppen will be facing on the ground before the scenario starts.
  13. No need for a field trip. If you have Netflix just watch or stream, Season 2 - Episode 2 of Tank Overhaul which features The Elefant (one that survived Kursk and then salvaged from Anzio, now located at Aberdeen). This is apparently one of only two surviving Elefants left.
  14. Phil mentioned previously that the "movie mode" coding affects things deeper in the engine, not apparent on the surface. Agreed with those above that a toggle to remove game aids would be great for making movies and for those that like more immersion during game play.
  15. I agree. The choice of terrain, time of day, season, weather and force selection was really lacking in aesthetics and not very interesting tactically. Overall, a poor choice to showcase the new module.
  16. It seems to me that GAJ is SOL so to speak. His force selection is just not going to work out well given the extremely rough and steep terrain as well as the hot weather. His troops will be tired or exhausted before he knows it, especially since he started most of them out with a Quick command, and he will not be able to maneuver effectively. Additionally, he has few options to counter Bil's armour. Placing his TRP's to screen his main axis of approach may have been a better option as well. At this point it looks like he should try to secure the Monte Garabinesa and Hill 523 objectives and then set up fields of fire to cover the other three objectives, fire into Bil's flank, and prevent Bil from taking them.
  17. Operating vehicles off-road at Fast is gaminess of the highest order, unless the vehicle is under extreme duress.
  18. I operate my vehicles in CM as I would in real life as mentioned above, and I have had good success in minimizing track damage, bogging, etc... in game.
  19. Always a good idea to use the Slow Command when going over walls or other obstacles and Move Command while off-road for vehicles.
  20. Definitely; why don't you guys change the weather, time of day, and/or season to show off the graphics better? Also, can you make the map available in the Repository so that we can view it in 3D, or are there terrain features only available in the new module?
  21. See Steve's comments below. I would imagine that the Free French would be included in a CM:FI Pack.
  22. Now that is the understatement of the year (granted the year isn't that far along yet). Isn't Michael about the same age as Treebeard?
  23. Now that is an outstanding idea Cpl. Steiner. Leave it to a German for a good logical solution. There has been a massive amount of confusion and frustration that I have seen on the forum due to the patch, upgrade process, purchasing additional content, potential upcoming bundles and pricing, as well as whether or not a new manual was available with v2. I was able to navigate the patch/upgrade process smoothly, however, Battlefront did lose a purchase from me, when I went to buy the Commonwealth module after I upgraded to CMBN v2 and realized that it is at version 1.0. Tech support's answer (not their fault) was to uninstall everything and start over. No thanks, not into that right now. So Battlefront really dropped the ball in communicating with their customers and I imagine they have lost more sales than just mine. I want to see BFC do well, so I hope they work on communication.
  24. Steve, Will you please comment on the pricing structure and what not related to the upcoming Market Garden module and the 2.0 Upgrade? Also, will there be a Market Garden/Commonwealth bundle? I think the price of the 2.0 upgrade is totally reasonable, and may I suggest that you raise the price to $20. Thanks for the hard work.
  25. I agree, a very poor way to design a manual. Makes it nearly impossible to read the manual on a tablet or small laptop computer as well. Not sure why they decided to go with 2 pages per manual page. Guess the obvious answer is to save money.
