What will the next CM be?
Placebo replied to dmagnusson's topic in Combat Mission - General Discussion
I have heard on the grapevine that it will be CMFS Fortress Singapore, loads of new equipment (bicycles) and new forces (Japanese & British colonial troops) and 1 scenario where the defenders must avoid immediate surrender -

Great news keep that production line running!! -
Great news about the work in progress Steve, 1. CMFI Rome to Victory (2nd and final Module for CMFI) 2. CMRT Module One (yet to be named, but takes the game through to the end of the war) About time this game got some attention!! 3. CMSF2 which brings the original content into the current Engine 4 environment - Wow I thought this was on the pipe dream list, great to see it's happening!!

Any news about CMFI 4.0 release
Placebo replied to markus544's topic in Combat Mission Fortress Italy
Sometimes they do an AAR but not always, and the fact that they planned to launch it early Jan makes me think the first we will know about this is it is going on sale. Anyway fingers crossed still a few working hours left of working time in the US. -

Great Christmas gift, thanks to all the BFC team. Also great to have the full installer, I was dreading ever having to re-install CMBN as there have been so many uogrades so this is a real bonus. -
Are veteran units too cheap?
Placebo replied to Bulletpoint's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I am sure i have seen vet's interviewed and they say if you are the target you never hear the incoming round (only the impact). -
Battle Packs, Vehicle Packs?

True the Normandy campaign must be 99% covered now, roll on the new game engine as the next update for CMBN -
Are veteran units too cheap?
Placebo replied to Bulletpoint's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I would agree i generally go up the scale (hardly ever down unless planning statis defence), as it is quite cheap to do with infantry. However when a squad is wiped out by arty or concentrated fire (never my fault of course) I often think how the extra men would have been more use as elite troops are just as mortal as consript ones. -
Quite a lot in this patch - time to fire up CMBS again. Thanks to all involved.

Battle Packs, Vehicle Packs?
Placebo replied to weapon2010's topic in Combat Mission Final Blitzkrieg
Sublime " thw usmc module of course would have a campaign of them takn helmand over from the brits. " It wasn't a hostile takeover so it will still be brit/USMC vs the Tababan -
Battle Packs, Vehicle Packs?
Placebo replied to weapon2010's topic in Combat Mission Final Blitzkrieg
Good news about CMSF, I do go back to it occasionally still but as the CM engine moves on it does feel more an more clunky. -
I was just about to say the same, it could make for a really interesting theatre of war, but if BF decide to do it I does mean there is a realistic chance of it happening!! Also as CMSF was the first incarnation of the current game engine, it would be good if it or a newer ISIS version of the game could be brought out.

Battle Packs, Vehicle Packs?

* New vehicle follow capability. Brilliant * Consolidate (Squad) Command. Never thought about this but i think that will be a nice addition. * New tracer and muzzle special effects. Always nice to have some new eye candy * Ability to place Flavor Objects in the 3D environment more directly. as above * AI Orders now includes an option to “Withdraw”, Could be a good addition if used correctly. * AI Facing can now be specified. as above * AI can now be ordered to perform Area Fire in its AI Plan. Great addition, very frustrating to see the AI waste its arty ammo in empty space in turn 1. Steve, I really do not want this to be a controvial question but how will the v4 engine be rolled out? Will you need the v3 update already, will it need to be purchased for older titles but be part of the next game release? -
" the only possible tactical use of the vehicles was for defensive or ambush purposes. The driver and commander were seated in the front part of the casemate, which had a hinged armored flap and vision slit. " This is one one the most bizaar tanks of the war, I hope BF will fully simulate the chaos of the gunner trying to guide the tank while reversing and turning to aim at a target

do it - it will not disappoint

My impression (from over the water in UK) is that Trump says anything that comes into his head, then if everyone says "thats stupid" he just changes his position the next day, if not that is his policy. Scary times, I just hope he gets some good advise from the military if he is is ever put in charge.
