  1. Well Battlefront's plan for complete radio silence on the new Bulge game is working too well Does anyone have any snipets of info or leaks to share, I would love to know more on any engine updates, campaigns etc (I am not even going to mention release dates!!).
  2. Welcome back!! The info is not as detailed in CM2 as CM1 but the middle part of the UI has 3 tabs that give you some of the information you need. On the QB points you can adjust one side +/- % so while you cannot set the limit you can adjust the ratio between the 2 sides. Hope that helps
  3. Interesting comments Kieme, all of my battles to date have been on small or wooded maps, I will run a few tests in open long range combat and see if that changes their effectiveness.
  4. From what i have seen a typical defence of an AT-14 and an Khrizanthema vs any US bradley or abrams goes: US spots AT-14 and fires before the AT has aquired target - AT-14 destroyed Khrizanthema spots US vehicle fires 2 warheads US returns fire destroying target 1 incoming missile misses target, 2nd hits but is defeated APS or ERS defence I am not saying they are invinsible but the combination of better spotting and the lack of accuracy of the ATGM means it is generally a very one sided fight.
  5. Agreed I just started a thread on this same subject
  6. Agreed I think it has to be unit costs, to balance things out more.
  7. Well after getting more into Black Sea over the last couple of weeks I am really enjoyed the game. However one thing that has become more and more obvious to me is the US technology is far superior to the Russians, and just how poor the Russian AT weapons are against the US. I am not going to debate the accuracy of this as I am sure there are 101 argument for changes but as the 2 forces have never gone head to head in a real conflict we have no real world data to compare with (luckily)!! However given that in CMBS the US are fighting on the Russian's doorstep is it fair to say that whatever size taskforce is sent to the region it could become overstretched but he size of the Russian forces present? As a result of this the cost and rarity values could be higher for the US (as in Normandy where the superior german armour is priced a lot higher). I think this would level the playing field slightly for QB.
  8. Yes I really enjoyed this one. I won comfortably in the end but I think i was a bit lucky and it was very tense waiting to see what was going to pop over the hill next. (hope that does not count as a spoiler ) I highly recommend this one.
  9. I might have to start doing this, like you with other stuff going on if i leave a save game for too long i forget the current situation & my battle plan.
  10. I am by no means a expert on this game yet, and would like to see some other players approach to the game. Any takers for a small combined arms battle - don't mind which side or conditions.
  11. Odin, I am taking a different view, I hope Battlefront put in plenty of new content to warrant the full price game tag. Info is still quite sparse on the game and they have a history of not commiting to anything until it is definitely making into the the game so I would wait and see.
  12. Thanks for sharing this one, enjoyed it. It is tough I was just getting the better of the mortars when the reinforcements arrived and ... well it did not end well for me.
  13. I am not sure i agree with this. For repository campaigns/scenarios thats fine, but for QB maps/campaigns/scenarios shipping with the game they should also be updated to work with the latest code. Otherwise you could be buying a new game (with the latest patch) with parts of the game are not-working or incomplete.
  14. I have just fired up the scottish corridor for another playthrough. Halfway into the first mission and it is just as tough as i remember it, so my conclusion is i really have not improved as a player since the first time i played it!!
  15. How are you measuring this, FPS, better graphics quality? I will be downloading the drivers tonight, but just curious.
  16. My general tip would be start small, battles can be daunting but start small so you can see how individual units react. It will help you understand how to use them correctly. For question 3 - if you are moving and want to limit firing the select a small target arc, that should stop them firing at anything that moves (unless it is inside the fire arc!!). Q4 - Spec ops is not really in scope of the game.
  17. Great news, hit my first game crash at the weekend while trying to save after successfully crossing the Dnieper river in the russian campaign Less cowering will be a good improvement too, it does seem to happen too often at the moment. So the patch can't come quick enough.
  18. Thanks Bill, I was way off on the location of Nordwind so did a bit of research on it. My favourite is the potential follow-on offensive called (the terrifying) Operation Dentist. The germans certainly knew how to strike fear into the enemy with operation names like that. But could be a good potential "what if" campaign.
  19. 1 question about Nordwind - wasn't this the German counter attack on the Russian front, if so does that mean we will se all the Allies US, UK & Russian in this one game?
  20. I don't know how heavy those missiles are, but it does seem strange for a trooper with a dedicated role to only have one shot.
  21. Great addition to the game this mod, thanks for all the effort you put into it.
