  1. Glad to see you are still around. Was worried you might have gotten burned out.
  2. Amd pretty sure I saw a mod that put the symbol on an M1 when I was checking thru the files sent to Bootie. So, it will turn up eventually.
  3. Very good video. Makes me want to go out and buy the game... at least another 3 times.
  4. + the biggest differentiation between RL casualty rates and in game rates is now *we* play. We keep going when real force commanders would pull back and break contact. We move much to fast a lot of the time short cutting on scouting, forgoing the 5min wait for supporting fire etc. Defenders stick it out when they would really elect to preserve there force and withdraw. Attackers keep trying even as they have lost so much. Yes... Also, CMSF1 scenarios heavily penalized one for friendly casualties (and often for using too much ammo as well). That really taught one to preserve friendly forces as well as ammo. Made me a much better CM1 player. But, it was a shock to play the later WW2 titles and then CMBS where bloodbaths seemed to be more normals and acceptable.
  5. That airbow kite could be great for faking UFO footage. At first glance, that's what I thought I was looking at.
  6. Nice job on the mod, Olek. However, the uniforms and vehicles look like factory fresh. Any chance of some weathering/wear and tear?
  7. To get accurate casualty figures one needs to know how many are support troops. For every 100 troops, maybe only 10% (10 guys) are combat troops. So, 5% casualties (ie: 5 guys out of a hundred) might mean 50% casualties for the combat troops.
  8. Not sure about sandbag walls, but IIRC from discussions on this topic from years ago, all troops get protection from the foxholes regardless whether graphically they are in them or not. ie: The whole tile gets the protection.
  9. Site was doing something odd a while ago - hence the double post.
  10. Thanks Olek. Always a pleasure to get a new mod from you. Looked at the images - is everything rather new and not weathered?

  12. Everyone needs a cooperative elephant to play with.
  13. His comments are interesting. Eg: "We had the sten gun, which was very basic and accurate only up to 50 yards. And they put this little thing on the end to serve as a bayonet, but you wouldn’t want to be that close. It was a pathetic gun”.
  14. It's understandable why that is the rule. However, in our connected world, it's hard to see how anyone could think this distribution can't easily happen - and already has.
  15. Love the video. Does one get to fly aircraft in ARMA as well, or onLy ground?
  16. I read a lot of complaints that electronics (like monitors) break shortly after warranty expires. It's as if the manufacturers can code in when the things break.
  17. It's not about simulating the A10, air is very abstracted in the CM games. Perhaps simply substitute an existing sound with a GAU-30 wav file?
  18. Probable political issues - similar to why no Arab-Israeli version. Wouldn't be good optics if it came out that Russia or Arabs were using CM2 to practice successful tactics vs the west. That's the downside of attempting to create an "accurate simulation".
  19. Yup... Love the huge maps. It enables recon scenarios with vehicles to make sense.
  20. I know I saw em use 2 but don't recall seeing 3 used at one time ever. Still quite right that one needs to split eng squads... and that takes care of that.
  21. Finally! A video that's really useful. I need these asap! Thanks...
