PIATpunk reacted to Zveroboy1 in game crashes after some time playing
I don't know if other people are still having crashes but I think I might have found a quick and easy fix for the CTDs so I thought I'd post in this old thread in case it is useful for other people.
I got a new PC last summer with windows 10 and the game has kept crashing on me with a CTD with an uncanny regularity ever since. The game has always been rock solid and super stable before. It wasn't the end of the world because I only experienced these crashes after 2 hours, 2 hours and a half of play. But it was every session and it was bugging me a little.
I tried all the suggestions in this thread, toying with nvidia settings, having the exe in admin mode, excluding it from the anti virus etc. But no luck. I was about to try different drivers for my graphic card as a last resort because I don't particularly like updating these all the time just to gain 1-2 fps when all the other games I play work fine.
Then I right clicked on the game exe to access the properties and set it to launch in windows 8 compatibility mode. I have tested it for a week to make sure it wasn't just a fluke. I have had zero crashes since I did that.

Wee vignette from Poland summer 1944. two German soldiers flee out of the front door of a small house as Soviet infantry pile in the back door. The two fleeing Landsers run into the path of a T-34. One of them cooly takes a knee, aims his panzerfaust and KOs the tank.

View from the hapless T-34s POV.

The file name for what I assume is the updated campaign is "Troina v2" and file dates can change over time for other reasons (depending on where you found them). Anywho, here is the link for anyone who want it and @Swant : https://www.dropbox.com/s/cztr2dzf2fyf2kv/Troina v2.cam?dl=0

PIATpunk reacted to Falaise in Tall corn field?
    interesting discussion
on the picture of British soldiers advancing in the wheat field, we can see that it happens to them half of the body, not that it is small but at the time the wheat was almost double in size of the one that we find currently in the fields, then we had need the straw!
in 1944 corn was only grown in southwestern France
flax and oats were widely grown in Normandy and Battlefront put it in the game. This is not a coincidence, but it demonstrates the level of research done by BATLEFRONT for game design.

Echoing Howler's post above, is there information I can be pointed toward that mentions when BFC will re-direct their attention to correcting the lingering triggers of the "hedgerow gap charge?"  Following the responsive, June release of 4.02, I haven't discovered much about any planned follow up.  After the CMFI Rome module perhaps?
If I have my facts straight, 4.02 reduced the incidents of infantry unduly breaking cover, but did not eliminate the issue as it relates to hedgerow features.  I seem to have experienced it a handful of times in 4.02 while playing CMBN when infantry takes small arms fire.  Given that hedgerow fighting characterized much of the action in this theater, this nagging issue personally strikes me as something of a "big, little thing."
Thanks for getting me up to speed.

CMFI: Armed Forces of Polant V1.0 is ready for downloads:

This is my first CMFI mod. In this mod I worked on uniforms, patches, insignias, medals, coronations, worn look, and helmets. This mod does not include winter uniforms as they would be placed into separate modification. This mod will be updated within time.

    Key features:
    Uniforms are updated and edited.
Decorations added to Jr and Sr officers. It was a big deal for me and it was important for me to make those decorations represented within the game as they are important parts of Polish history.
So company level commanders are decorated with the Order of the Cross of Grunwald:

The Order of the Cross of Grunwald was conferred to Polish or the allied military for valour or merit in combat with Nazi Germany.
From the other hand - the Battalion level commanders are decorated with Order of Polonia Restituta.

It is conferred on both military and civilians as well as on foreigners for outstanding achievements in the fields of education, science, sport, culture, art, economics, national defense, social work, civil service, or for furthering good relations between countries.

Other patches and insignias were added as well.

Work on those patches was a bit confusing for me as I'm not that good in terms history related to Allied forces. Mostly my knowledge about World War Two comes from Eastern Front events as both of my grand-grandfathers were fighting nazies.

But two people @Frenchy56 and @Falaise helped me with that insignia problem. By following their advices I've changed my uniform configuration few times.
I will be editing this mod in a future to achive greater results but for now it is what it is and I'm pretty happy about it.

In this mod regular soldiers are wearing way dirtier uniform than their officers. Jr Officers are wearing pretty decent amount of dust and dirt on them while Sr Officers are wearing nearly new uniforms. Different types of Polish style helmets are added as well.

Overall it is first modification of mine within CMFI setting and I'm pretty excited about it.
I hope that some of you will enjoy it!

Recently I was introduced to this game, and it was totally new experience for me. I found it interesting how this game changes the way you think on a tactical level. Furthermore, I found few elements of
this game that I would might want to change a little. After some time playing it, I've decided to make few steps towards allies and their operations. It was their equipment that made me interested. As a history lover, and as a person who enjoys this game I've started my work on few modifications. World War Two setting was an initial insparation for me. Modders that were modding World War Two games here were are masters of what they are doing. The amount of details that some mods are providing is mind blowing. I did quite a few mods here and there and I got a feeling that I will try to enter this room with a big hope to add something that will be enjoyed by other players in their battles. It is time for me to try myself in a big boys game. I'm not sure that everything what I will do will be 100% accurate - but I will try to do my best. With a deep respect to this community I'm opening my new modding space. I hope that some of you will enjoy my stuff.

On August 13th, at 07:00 a.m. under the cover of the mist, the Germans started to advance on the unnamed hill with eleven King Tigers and a few armored personnel carriers with infantry.
Ivushkin's voice was heard on the radio: "The tanks are gone. I can't see them, but I can hear them. They are moving through the valley."
This is how the commander of the 53rd GTBr described the battle:

"An enormous tank crawled from within the valley. It was jerkily climbing up and swerving on the sand. From the left flank, Major Korobov exclaimed on the radio: - They're coming!
    I replied:
    - Be patient! Open fire from 400 metres only!
Behind the first tank, the second beast came from the valley, and soon the third tank appeared. The first had already passed Ivyshkin's ambush position.

    - Fire? - he asked.
    - Fire! I saw a part of the haystack over Oskin's tank move, and the gun barrel appeared. It fired, and then again and again: Oskin had commenced the battle. Through my binoculars, I could see black holes in the sides of the German tanks. At first I saw only smoke, but then I saw flames. The third tank turned to Oskin, but it was immobilized after it received a hit in its tracks, and then it was hit again for good.

In this ambush two of the Tiger IIs hit by Oskin's T-34/85 suffered catastrophic ammunition fires causing many crew fatalities. In some follow up accounts of this action reference is made to the crews storing additional ammo within or on the turret floor which made the tanks more prone to ammo fires, with a subsequent order banning them from doing so, although it reduced the Tiger II's ammo loadout (Ref Schneider Tigers in Combat I page 46). There is also strong evidence that the battalion performed very poorly and subsequently took heavy casualties due to poor handling and tactics. Due to this poor combat performance the 501st battalion commander - Major von Legat - was relieved, and I've read, was also implicated in the 20 July plot to assassinate Hitler which may also have contributed to his being relieved of command. He was replaced by Major Saemisch who was KIA during counter attacks the following January to disrupt the Soviet Vistula–Oder Offensive. These also did not end well for the unit. Overall though the 501st HTB does appear to have have a less than stellar combat career during its formation - dating back to its first combat with Tiger Is. It lost the 501st designation in December 1944 and was renamed the 424th Heavy Tank Battalion.

REPRODUCIBLE BUG - file attached  for @BFCElvis and other interested parties
So I replaced part of Elvis's test file low hedgerow with tall hedgerow.
8 out of 8 replays later, there were dead Germans in front of the hedgerows, having charged through the tall hedgerow gaps by the end of the first turn.
I hope others will see what I am seeing!

Aris did not create a Sicily (tan) version of the M4A1 Mid. Only a mainland (mickey mouse) camo and an OD scheme exist.
Personally I had noticed this a while ago and did some switching and stitching to fix that. Unfortunately I won't have my home PC until the end of the week to share it with you.
Also, here's to hoping he'll be back for R2V. Right now the Brummbars are sticking out like a sore thumb, and so will the new 76 Shermans and StuG IV.
