I created sound files for vehicle hits that cause burning, slight damage, and no effect, which previously didn't exist for the Syrians (see link to thread above). Instead of random allahu akbars being screamed all over the place you will only hear them (with various intensity) when targets are hit (which was my original desire back when I first created this circa 2009).

Been procrastinating on getting this finished for two years. I finally decided to sit down and get it done. Explanation can be found here.
Sent it off to @Bootie. If it doesn't make it on by tonight I'll link to Mediafire until he can get to it.

After a year and and five months it is done! The SF2 mod really burned me out but I managed to FINALLY finish this bad boy after lots of breaks and procrastination. There's over 1700 portraits included. I hand made 60+ unique faces for this one, there's plenty of variety.
Thanks to MJ for sending me the new portraits so I'd know what was included in RtV. He didn't have the SS so I had to guess, but going by my research I think I have them covered.
Guys, please read the included "Urgent" readme in the zip when you get a chance. Things are pretty tough for me right now so I'd appreciate it.
I sent the mod off to Booty so it should be up some time soon (or maybe Ian can get a hold of him and let him know). In the meantime here's the splash screen and I posted a pic in my FI Mods thread.

Hope you guys enjoy them and stay healthy, the world has definitely taken a weird-ass detour.

You are welcome. Hope you enjoy. And thanks much for the contribution. Things here have been incredibly tight for me.
10-4 man. People can at least get it from Mediafire until you have time to get it uploaded. I eventually hope we'll be able to post our own stuff.

I'm especially quick on the trigger if there are Brits or Indians involved, but I've found with BFC content that even if it's a side I may not think I will enjoy playing (Soviet Russia for example), 30 minutes into the campaign I'm completely immersed in the struggle for my adopted motherland/fatherland.

'Fortress Grosshau' is the subject of the first series.  Excuse my weak graphics card and awkward narrative delivery. I think I'm going to start writing scripts before recording narration. Score is original music (I'm a professional musician among other things.)  Try to watch in full screen for the full cinematic effect.
All inspiration comes from watching vids by Usually Hapless, Josey Wales, Ithikial and Double.  You guys set the bar!

CM isn't a game in the sense we usually think of games. Yes, it's fun, entertaining, and you use rules and orders to interact with it but it's more a simulation. You don't really finish a CM title like say you would a FPS or RT game. It's designed in a way that it technically could never end. I've been playing BN since 2011 and am still going, still doing things involved with it, whether that be firing up a scenario or modding. Think of it more as an investment in historical immersion, research, interaction, and play. There are a huge number of ways you can enjoy these titles; modding, scenario play, scenario design, campaign design, historical research, loading up the vehicles and studying their design/systems, map making etc. You can watch a WWII documentary or read a good memoir, then jump into one of the titles and experience the battles and fire fights you just watched or read about on a visceral level that engages the imagination—you become the general, the captain, the private locked in fierce combat across France/Germany/Russia/Italy with all the formations, weapons, vehicles and armor that can entail.
When I invest in a wargame I usually shoot for one that has longevity (editor etc.), historical immersion, detail, and a passionate community that will keep it alive for years to come. CM nails that criteria. If the game grabs you (like it has so many of us) your return on dollar spent is in the pennies. These are bar none some of the best bang for your buck titles in the hobby.

In anticipation of the "Fire and Rubble" module I've started reading up on late war (Oct 44 - May 45) events on the eastern front. Holy (expletive), the scale and scope of the war at that time is breathtaking! I need to crack open some more history books!
Your 'favorite battle' from that time frame may be the liberation of Krakow (to pick a random example), but considering literally hundreds of cities had been either liberated or over-run (depending on your perspective) in that timeframe, the module will only be able to give you a taste of the epic events, plus the game tools to 'make your own', of course. I'm just now reading up on the siege and liberation (destruction) of Poznan.

Ahh, yeah. I forgot that they changed things with tags when I created that. You'll need to add a space then  [snow] at the end of the file name.
Ex: A winter background picture becomes "portrait german infantry [snow]" minus the quotation marks.
You will actually be able to have two of each portrait in the mods folder now without them canceling each other out.
    portrait german infantry
    portrait german infantry [snow]
The snow background will only show up in scenarios where there is snow on the ground. Any other portrait named portrait german infantry will show up when there isn't snow.
If you wanted to use portraits with say the flag background, all the time, you'd have to make two copies of them and add the [snow] tag to one (as above).
I will make sure to address this when I get around to updating the FB mod to my new style. And will make sure it's all set in the FI & RT module mods.
