For what you spend compared to the amount of time you'll be playing it comes out to less than a few pennies (or Euro cents) per hour.

I actually have collected numerous first hand accounts of what tank crews do when the tank is hit and typed them into a word document for these kinds of discussions.  In the case of an immobilized vehicle it's probably around 50/50 as to whether the crew bails or not (in general).  If the crew knows or suspects that there is a gun capable of destroying their vehicle they will bail out of it as soon as it's immobilized because an immobilized tank is a sitting duck.  If the tank is in a relatively safe environment or they don't think they are in immediate danger they tend to remain mounted.  The only case I have ever read where a tank crew will remain in a burning / immobilized vehicle under all circumstances are accounts of Japanese tank crews who, needless to say, would take things well beyond what most would consider rational behavior.  On the opposite side of the spectrum there are accounts of Soviet crews that bailed from a moving vehicle when taking hits from guns that didn't penetrate, but there is no way to know what experience level those crews were - not sure if any 'booty' Ukrainians were used as tank crews or not, but if they were their motivation levels would certainly be suspect.  I also seem to recall something with an American tank crew bailing after a rifle grenade hit.
When reading first hand accounts of tank crews you have to read a lot of them before you get any sort of a decent picture of what may have happened on average.  Some of the Soviet accounts that I've read come across as a little suspect relative to what I have read from other armies (which tend to paint a similar picture), although certainly not all of the Soviet accounts fall into that category.  I would just recommend branching out beyond just Soviet accounts if you want a fuller picture.
I have made numerous suggestions to BFC at various times about how I think tank crews should act, but I'm pretty sure players would not look upon more realistic tank crew behavior as an improvement to their gaming experience. 😉

Yes, when making QB's you can adjust the the platoons down to squads just a squad by deleting what you don't want. CMBN is the game you want and get all the modules with it as that is the most complete and there are tons of scenarios.

“...time sucking variable” was once my answer to my lovely wife when asked why I hadn’t gotten to my chores for the day. “Sorry dear,” says I, “but playing Combat Mission is a time sucking variable.” I was then informed that the Doghouse is also a time sucking variable.

I think that whilst we are waiting for Fire and Rubble, instead of moaning, we should have a little sing-song. All together now...

Yes Yes. Information about PzII in CMRT is very important! Not only because at the end of the war, the Germans used everything that moves. But also because it will be possible to recreate the battles of 1943 better, especially Kursk.

BS-3 was a recent arrival to the title (yes, new content keeps getting added), I don't know if anyone wants to rework their finished scenarios to fit it in. I did a test of it using a converted QB map and it seems like a serviceable weapon. CMBS of course fields the MT-12 100mm gun.

One German campaign is in the Baltics (Ithikial's), and one is set throughout Operation Konrad I-III. The Soviet one is focused upon the 219th Tank Brigade (covering from Poland to Berlin).

To me what is surprising is not the length of time it takes BF to produce product given the tiny development staff, but the fact that BF is still in business after 21+ years and AFAIK the only and last surviving developer making realistic and brilliant tactical wargames for our tiny niche within a niche market.
We should not begrudge these guys from wanting to make some money from MOD even though that surely has delayed all entertainment product development.  My only hope is that BF is making the money they deserve and are not getting exploited.  My experience in the US DoD development game is that the sort of products that BF has been developing for us gamers would cost million of dollars - and many millions more when developing for a government agency.  These products would cost the customer many hundreds of thousands of dollars - very easily many millions.  We are getting them for $60-$70 bucks!  The biggest software bargain of all time.
The choice may be slow development of entertainment COTS vs no product at all.  Yes, we're all impatient.  But, we must consider the commercial realities.

This approach doesn't seem very helpful at all.
In terms of BF decision making, it seems to make sense.
Fix the problem behaviour for fleeing under bombardment - affects all titles.
Releast a major module that has been promised and was near completion.
Prioritise potential major new business opportunity that will mean more security/better long term ability to develop (Develop CM 3 - ditto) . If this means a delay to CMRT, but means more certainty that BF will be around for the foreseeable, that is something I am happy to accept - aren't you?
Also, with a very small team, real life is likely to impact them hard if something goes wrong (Elvis has made a few references to various team members being impacted) . Speaking personally, without being directly affected, Covid has been an utter nightmare for me, affecting my ability to do day-to-day stuff.
They have tried to give forecasts, but by their own admission they regret this for many reasons (R2V being much more challenging, MoD project, etc). So holding them to past forecasts seems mean to me.
It is in their interests to get product out of the door. Decision making in BF will be with the objective of making it sustainable/profitable. We can see CMRT is making progress.
Ultimately I think almost everyone here agrees with/understands BF decisions, and are looking forward to new product as and when it is ready.

I don't really get your point.
But I do find that there's a small gaggle of really vocal weirdos on this site who work hard to create the impression that the customers are dissatisfied.
Having played the game since the last Millennium, bought every game and module except Afghanistan, played them incessantly and enjoyed them all, I feel some loyalty to the BF team and would like to play my part in dispelling the impression that the average, normal buyer is unhappy.
They're a small development team. The product is amazing. I don't care how many delivery dates they overshoot, I just hope they keep going.

As a 21-year veteran I have developed a lot of patience waiting for various games/modules/packs/updates.  When they appear I enjoy them thoroughly - this is a great game system.  Would I like new stuff to pop up more regularly?  Sure.  But I'm OK with the way it is too.  RL keeps me pretty busy too.

Its extremeley discouraging as a 20 year fan/customer not to get "year ahead bone post", I dont care that none of their plans did not pan out for 2020, most times they have and I would love to know their direction for 2021 and future projects , it keeps me invested and enthused.

    Happy New Year, everybody!
Just a quick post to say that I did finish the elevations. So, other than smoothing out anything that pops up that my eyes missed, that giant bit of work is done.
So, the plan now is to add more flavor objects from the current pool while waiting for F&R. I can't really do anything else without the new module assets. I don't have enough time these days to repeat work (map slicing and unit setups for example). So, I want all potential assets in hand before proceeding.
    Macisle out.

Lol, I also made this mod, or at least a very similar mod, a month or two ago, in preparation for Fire and Rubble's arrival. It's all ready to go for CMFB and RT-F&R when the module arrives, just need the fieldcap model and a texture as a guide. Adapted some of EZ's uniforms too, but need to work in some of those warm jackets, what's great is that the gebirgs tag works with models too. You obviously know that though as you mix helmets in your screen shot.

    First rules
1 -Wait until the children are at school or in bed
2 - Wait for your wife to watch television or pour a sleeping pill in her glass.
If she resists and tells you about her colleague who put on her green necklace with the blue dress, yes, the one she wore when on her birthday and you should remember it given the way you looked at her (don't answer the trap)   it's lacks taste especially since she wore it with the red shoes the same as she saw that she had copied  and besides the green necklace will go well with the her dress of the same color (message to grab) and then also blah blah blah…. There, don't hesitate to make a backup and double the dose of sleeping pill.
3 - Drink water and avoid beer or that little Alsace white wine that I'm sipping while writing these lines
5 - Turn off the television in order to concentrate as well as possible
6- Finally, for old people like me, don't hesitate to cover yourself with a little wool
only after applying the rules above!!!!
