Yeah the rounds can go through brick but if your troopers are prone inside they should be a little better protected on top of everything else.

Move shoot, move shoot again. . .
Lanzfeld replied to Johnny Canuck's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
and keep in mind that if you use a HUNT command in your string of commands and they see something during that hunt segment then everything you plotted after that will be dropped. -
I really blew off the answer back then as I was so excited to test other things. Maybe the point is they can go to fetch more ammo during the game? I am not sure.
-
I saw this during beta testing and brought it up but I forget the answer. I'll be back. Okay. I just looked it up. The answer was that at the very start of the game the ammo bearers handed over the ammo to the MG team. I am not sure if this is accurate as I moved on to other things. Maybe you can test more?

The way to coordinate this better in WEGO is simple. 1. Give the vehicle a 45 second pause. 2. Move vehicle to the spot you want to deploy troops. (not a far move for this to work). 3. Deploy troops By the end of the turn your vehicle has started to deploy troops and the turn ends. Now for the new turn tell your vehicle where to go and it will offload the troops first (which it started at the end of the last turn) THEN it will go where you want. The key is the use of pause. More planning? Yes. We love WEGO? Yes.

Fanning out for incoming artillery
Lanzfeld replied to Crushingleeek's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I keep most of my squads split most of the time nowadays. It is more work per turn but it just seems a better way to do things. -
Hmmmm.... A single 105mm should do the trick. Sounds like some testing is needed!

Heavy machine guns and suppressive fire
Lanzfeld replied to CBR's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Thank you for pointing this out! I have been wanting to test this forever but it just got lost in the mix. So covered arcs make the MG teams more prone to shooting I guess? I sort of sensed this but I never ran a proper test. I REALLY WISH THIS WAS IN THE MANUAL. All MG teams get that ugly covered arc. -
Yes I have seen this and made files for BFC to look at. There is something wrong in there and I am sure they are taking a look at it.

Getting Troops To Nade Houses
Lanzfeld replied to Lanzfeld's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I split my teams so the assault command is not an option. Besides, assault has nothing to do with this but thanks for the suggesion. -
Getting Troops To Nade Houses

Target for sure. Try it yourself. It is really hard to get them to nade up a house. -
Getting Troops To Nade Houses
Lanzfeld replied to Lanzfeld's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
That may be true but it kinda goes against my tactic of clearing houses. Two teams putting down covering fire into the house while the third team "quicks" up and drops a few nades before storming the house. It worked in CMSF, it worked IRL (yes they did this in WWII) so I would like it to work here. -
Anyone having a hard time doing this? I plant a waypoint outside the house with a 15 second pause and fire order into the house. My guys shoot their rifles into the house but I have yet to see them frag it. Yes, they have frags. I have tried this several times.

Very close Ghost Rider. Barkman himself has said that the actual place he fought from is a few hundred meters off this map to the west. Jaws has done a great job of recreating this area from map photos but the actual spot is a bit further west.
-
All this talk about "Barkmans Corner" and no history fan has spotted or talked about one glaring mistakes about this scenario?!?? (Sorry Jaws, one of the best scenarios in the game for sure but I cannot wait any longer !).

Heavy machine guns and suppressive fire
Lanzfeld replied to CBR's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Yes I have always thought there was something wrong with the MG's in the Combat Mission games. Too little firing. They have always needed longer bursts and shorter time between burstd IMHO. Water cooled MG's can and should have very long bursts. I mean, in a patch give us some 10 second bursts for the water cooled MG's and let us see how that is. -
Clicking on contact icon jumps to wrong HQ
Lanzfeld replied to xian's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I have seen this as well. No thoughts here. Not a game breaker but slightly bothersome. -
Really? So on their way to Normandy they would have been immune to the Allied airpower. Wow. The truth is nobody knows and nobody will ever know.

Devon - Basic Training Campaign
Lanzfeld replied to Hiram Sedai's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
For all the training (Devon & Raff) and for any battle for that matter remember to take your time. With the relative spotting and C2 it takes time for guys to see things and pass info around. Sometime after having a guy in an action space with binocs he is spotting new things after 3 or 4 minutes. I play best when I try to put myself in my troopers shoes and say "What would I do here?" and not be so reckless. ..and God bless arty. Our arty. -
WOAH! Is this it? Is it the 21st?!?!? Is this the end???!?!? My God! Run!
-
I think that the bigger arty should knock a few down dont you think?
-
Yes, sorta. Select basic traing mode to remove FOW. Also...the harder modes will make all icons the generic man icon instead of mortar team, mg, panzerschreck, ect.

Panther too small or Cdr too big.

Head looks same to me. CMBN has bigger hat though. I mean...your getting pretty picky here.
