I need help to buy the game...
gunnersman replied to Aloko Mac's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Awwwe come on! Ya gotta admit...that's some pretty funny stuff. I hope you get the game Dimitri. Good luck over there. -
Both pictures are more than likely prior contact reports passed on to the selected units. The unit selected has yet to have visual confirmation of the report [The "contact report" being the (?)] due to a lack of quality LOS because of smoke or dust. Sometimes the (?) is a vehicle that has been knocked out or dead enemies which LOS has been lost to as well.

In CMSF, when engineers would breach a wall, it was automatic that after breaching the wall, the engineers would rush in. From what I've seen in that last video, it does not appear things have changed. Once that hole is blown open, the engineers are committed. I doubt any changes will be made between the recording of that VAAR and release. In my short beta test career the bug smashing and code tweaking would end and everyone would start concentrating on scenario design this close to release.

Jeez guys! I feel your pain...but come on! It'll get here! From the home page for pre-orders (before Mac OS X was announced). Lots of wiggle room there. So, bet on the first week of May and hope it comes out before then.

CMBN Module Disk in Pre Order Version
gunnersman replied to jg1234's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
The pre-order comes with a steel box which includes the original CMBN disk. It also includes space to put your module disks in should you decided to buy all of them. The price of the pre-order does not include the add on modules. You will need to buy those separately. -
Whatever they are paying you, it's not enough.

Fortification Question/Request
gunnersman replied to Sgt Schultz's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
According to the second VAAR tyrspawn put up, the player can select sandbag walls. http://www.krauselabs.net/dump/quickbattle2.jpg http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=95939&page=2 From my past experience with scenario building in CMSF you could make trenches, walls, and stone walls with corners at 90 degree angles only. And you could only make those 90 degree corners in four different directions. I can't speak to CMBN, however. -
Thanks tyrspawn! I'm looking forward to another video. I hope it's another QB. I dont want to see another scenario map and ruin it for me. On another note, I did hear the Garand *ping*. I wasn't listening but I thought I heard it several times when Chris was zoomed in on the infantry. Although it is not loud like you hear in the movies. But it's definitely there. On another, another note, I didn't think the US had SINCGARS that early in the war.

Combat Mission: Battle for Normandy Video AAR

Holy thru and thru Batman! I do believe I just a saw the Panther's round pass through a knocked out Sherman and knock out another Sherman behind it at 00:32:21. Immediately prior to 32:21 Tyrspawn is sliding the camera forewards along the main road towards the Panther. As he does so, a Sherman contact pops into view on the main road juuuuust as it moves out of frame while the camera is still moving forward. Immediately after the Sherman moves out of view the camera zooms onto a knocked out Sherman which is immediately pierced by the Panther's 75mm and you hear the tell tale shreek of armor being penetrated by an AP round. At 32:30-ish the camera slides backward along the main road and you see another Sherman ( I believe the one that popped into view immediately before 32:21) which is starting to smoke with a red cross over it due to a crew casualty. I do recall that this is possible. -

This is too cool. Intense battle. Why is it you dont use small/short cover arcs for your Panzer Shrecks (or any other units) during setup instead of hiding? I always did that so my units would still be able to observe what was going on (in CMSF). Or does it matter? I've never noticed. Thanks for the AAR! -
