Any chance of getting an update on last weeks update? For instance, sounded like the demo was pretty darn close end of last week - but obviously stuff comes up. Any further updates? They have us or at least the fanboys by the short hairs and they will do what they want when they want. I kind of respect them for that I guess. If you want a rise of out of them. Demand would be along the lines of 'BFC, you owe us blah blah blah, the least you could do is blah blah blah.' I was just looking for an official update. If they dont, thats fine. Dont get me wrong, any details on the actual game release would be nice, but last Friday's post gave me the impression that the demo would be available in a few days. At this moment, I think its safe to say that they are not, nor are some of our beta testers, as were testing the final candidate. Yes, we have moved from beta over to final candidate, but it could take 1 day, or many more for the candidate to be ... final. Right now, if you gents want to have a demo now, we testers should not report any issues with the current version at all. Cause if the Demo = OK, the full release = OK'ed. If we don't report ANY issues, you guys get the Demo for sure, but we testers will get that hollow, empty stomach feeling of not giving respect to Charles, Steve, Moon, Dan et al for all their years of sweat, toil and countless beers/coffee and hard work. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

As Mr. Smith said, "It is inevitable." Obviously, that is a given Dadekster88. There are always major and less major issues discovered, no matter how many testers you throw at any testing cycle. Major ones include the Demo/CMBN not even installing properly due to reported problems on machines running certain OS/AV software etc., to give but one example. Deliberate anticipation created on BFC's part, knowing that their product is 'perfect' for general release, is certainly not BFC's modus operandi. That, many here on the forum, can assure you. But as all know, only Charles and Steve can make that decision when CMBN/Demo's imperfectness is 'perfect' enough for Battlefront to release for general public consumption. In short, BFC's oft-quoted statement in these matters, "It's ready when it's ready" sounds cruel to the waiting public. I guess I got the impression from Steves post last week that the demo would be released before the release canidate was done. He said: 2. Again, that was not my impression - Steves previous posts led me to believe that the demo was going to come a week or two before actual release because it was not going to be the release canidate code. But what your saying WineCape is that the demo is going to be the Gold Client? Steve? Martin? Any official word on this. If that is the case, then yes, this thread is pointless. But I dont think Im the only one who thought that the demo's release was not only coming before the games release, but it was imminent. Heh, If the demo gets released an hour, a day, or a week+ before the CMBN game, it does fulfill your impression created. Whether the Demo is going to be a Gold Client to be released, I honestly don't know. He was busy coding the demo in his secret overseas hideout when all of the sudden men in balaclavas rapelled down from helicopters onto his mansion's roof, shot his Arab manservant and confiscated his computers, then took off with them and the body. It's not clear who was behind this, Matrix Games is under suspicion but it doesn't matter: either way, Charles needs a new aide to mow the lawn.
