Not often you see a photo of an M16 and M4 side-by-side. Now that we're getting used to the M4 the M16 looks huge!

1st Armored still issues M16A4s to riflemen, I believe (and this may be true for all the "heavy" divisions).

They are both flashlights. On the SAW you can see a lanyard for the lens cover. On the M4 it has a spring loaded lens cover.

And those are EOTech Red Dot sights. Awesome sight, my fav.

The new SINCGARS is half the size of the old one.

Yeah, those EOTech sights sound pretty good, I'll have to get one. smile.gif But the ACOG sights are junk, I don't know why the military even orders those things. I checked one out to see what they are like; the reticle is ridiculously small, the hash marks for estimating drop at longer ranges are so tiny as to be useless, they're all jammed together in a super small area. Who designed that reticle?? They need a much larger and bolder reticle pattern that will stand out and allow for quick and precise targeting.

AKD, and others...

Keep an eye out for Strykers sporting the new top deck armor packages. Note the ones above that have the camo netting. Those have it. The armor is angled up and out, so as to better catch "RPG splash" on the slat armor as well as shrapnel from IEDs. We need as many good pics of these as possible.

Also note the new device front right that looks like a large piece of tan PVC pipe. Looks to be some sort of anti-IED device, either detector or jammer. Interesting.
