To update the conflict and allows us new 'new' tech toys to play with ...

More drones, T-14s, better Ukrainians ...

For correct modelling of new toys there is need to have correct information about their features - armor, engines, sights, etc. There is too few info in open sources

I'd much rather see CM:SF2 thoroughly patched and brought closer to the CM:BS timeline.

Yepp...preferably with an Iran module (maybe complemented with some additional gulf states or...perhaps Israel)....

But a current day CM-Asia game would be even better ! 😊...Korea, China, Taiwan...That would be nice !

Updating CMBS doesn't mean discarding CMSF2. Also, there's only so often I can send western imperialists to kill people in the middle east.

How about a variant background for late 2024.....After a series of unfortunate border incidents, the Mexican government purchases Iskander & S-400 systems from Russia and invites Russia to establish a series of military bases accross the country.  :o

Wonder how that one might play out?  ;)

We don't have to guess - Cuba is perfect example.

How about Scotland inviting Russians to help fight for freedom?

Thank you for the laugh.  This was the very first time in any of these forums that I actually laughed out loud.  That was witty!!!!

dbsapp,

Beg to disagree, starting with the dramatic post-Cold War shift from a bipolar to a multipolar geo-strategic situation. Russian style ADS extending deep into US territory would be another major difference, not to mention the challenges of dealing with a huge border vs a tiny island surrounded by a huge US navy (vs near zero Soviet) and with US airpower galore both at sea and from nearby land bases. Other points of note include the post-Cuban Missile Crisis discovery that we were harassing nuclear torpedo armed Soviet subs to the point where nuclear release almost occurred and that there were 200 tactical nuclear warheads on Cuba, none of which had PALs, and a Soviet general with the ability to use them. During the Cold War, the US was quite concerned the Soviets would put SS-20 IRBMs into Nicaragua, and we invaded Grenada, in part, at least, because the runway was being expanded to the point where it could accommodate long range bombers.

Regards,

John Kettler
