Holman
I know fire isn't the CM engine's strongest feature, but it does exist. Sometimes you'll see that a building's interior shows flames on the floor after it has taken damage. What is the actual effect of these fiery floors? Will units in them take damage? Can my units enter them safely or not? I would assume that they are off limits, but it's certainly possible to order units to dance on the coals. Any enlightenment?
Thewood1
What's with the serious obsession with fire on these forums? multiple flamethrower threads, multiple threads on the effects of fire, complaints about fire not doing this or that. Are we sharing the forum with a bunch of arsonists in the making?

MikeyD
I haven't done any proper analysis but its my impression a floor that's been hammered so hard that its burning from one end to the other will usually be uninhabited. You can argue that's due to troops escaping the volume of incoming fire, not to the flames. I don't know if the AI has a natural aversion to building floors damaged to that point or if they're coincidentally fleeing for other reasons.

Well it's no less plausible than some of the rubbish I've seen on the net in the last few days.

Barrold
It does give the wooden floors a patina with a certain stressed appearance that is so hot with fashion conscious buyers these days BDH

Warts 'n' all
The perfect antidote to the above would be "Wet it" by The Harlem Hamfats.
