MikeyD
I just submitted to Repository a new mod, it should be showing up for downloading sooner or later: MikeyD's 'Lily Pond' pattern Deep Marsh terrain tile. Five or six different Deep Marsh terrains had been tried out before BFC settled on the current 'algae green mud' style deep marsh terrain tile. One runner-up (and my personal favorite) was a more distinctive 'lily pond' tile pattern. The advantage (in my mind at least) is it makes those deep marsh 'no-go' areas more immediately recognizable. Nobody's going to try to drive a tank across that! It was submitted about 2am so it'll take awhile before it get approved for downloading. Hope you like!

Oddball_E8
While I might not like this design alot (not a fan of the lilys) I do agree that marshland needs water to look right.

sburke
I'd really consider this in a map in replacement of water areas to create ponds just because of the level issues with water. Hell you could create a pond any height you want. Interesting possibilities Mikey, thanks

That way, even if the player doesn't use the lilypad mod, you could include it as a tagged scenario specific mod.

MikeyD
Oops, I spelled 'Marsh' wrong in the screenshot. Did I mention that I had done it at 2am?
Pete Wenman
Just to add this one really caught my eye in the beta's and is a great mod, and I've kept it ever since. It looks so good in situ ! P
Broadsword56
I've long been asking for a fake watery terrain tile that we could then use to make streams and wet looking areas at any elevation level of maps -- instead of the plain marsh tiles that we've had to make do with, which just leave a stream looking like a brownish ditch. This gets us almost there. A version with just some mossy stones, perhaps, instead of lilly pads would be it exactly.
Baneman
This does look really great, so much easier to ID the no-go areas. Thanks for releasing it

Canada Guy
Is it possible to have the water under the water lilies a little bluer? It looks very grey and when beside a river, it does not blend in as well. It does look fantastic though and I am using it but perhaps a bluer edition may look even better.

Lee_Vincent
This seems to help differentiate the marsh tiles more easily than the original, thanks
nik mond
Just took a look at this in Myth of Invincibility which has a lot of deep marsh. I must say this looks really good. Impressed by the way they blend with mud, or shallow marsh border tiles especially if the border tiles are slightly higher.
