  1. The type of meeting depends on your Intel. Meeting is like a tennis match, be the first on the objective with the mostest or use the objective to ambush your enemy. You know he is on the way there. Probing is Recon in force, Attack is Terrain focused but you still have insufficient Intel it is one step further than a probe. Assault is you have located the enemy and have a plan to destroy his forces. Anyway, that's how I understand it.
  2. I checked it in Devon basic training. It is probably because the driver can't disembark, he can only bail out.
  3. Yes, it happened all right. It may be in the US constitution. The right of every vehicle to carry a 0.50 Call Browning shall not be infringed with. I am sure I heard something like that. All joking apart nobody likes to waste a .50 Browning HMG.
  4. @mjkerner @Vacilllator this is the rule of thumb according @Sgt.Squarehead Bailed out vehicles or abandoned equipment can't be manned by a different crew. Bailed out vehicles can be manned by the original crew only. If the crew can dismount their vehicle can be operated by a different crew. It doesn't apply always, kudos to the people who take their time testing these things. At least I understand why friendly infantry can't mount the engine deck to operate a 0.50 Cal while his squad struggles with fire superiority.
  5. Abrams, Leopard, Challenger break cover full speed to next cover, and they acquire their targets and eliminate them. Something to test. I call them Tiga Tali Uang means three coins on the same string. It is Malay. Don't try it with WW 2 vehicles. Try it where you suspect ATGM's
  6. Yes, I can't imagine John Frost's men using the Vickers in direct fire mode only. I tried and tried but no LOS sign keeps popping up.
  7. I recall you load a map and the first thing you do is to save under a different name. Page 2 of the Engine Manual states it is OK to make scenarios on the proviso not to sell it. The way I read it Battle Front is the owner of your software and of your creations.
  8. Homing Pigeons is a good alternative.
  9. there is a discussion going on and there is no consensus on the matter.
  10. I tested it in Devon Basic training this morning you can do it there. @Sgt.Squarehead quoted if you Bail Out you can't swap vehicles if you dismount you can most of the time.
  11. @Sgt.Squarehead with the radio issue for Red Forces. Would it be possible to have different FOW settings? Let's say Red on Basic Training or Veteran Blue on Elite or Iron. That way Blue depends on its latest technology and Red as part of the community knows what goes on. It is part of a hearts and mind campaign. The other way is 'Safe Houses' which enables Red to update their C2. Just a quick edit. Just opened a Red Force and had a quick look. They at least should have a PDA (Read Mobile Phone). If they use it Blue should or could be made aware which of their units has been spotted. Yes at best they are at present on par with WW 2 units if lucky.
  12. @Sgt.Squarehead read my reply to @Vacilllator I tested it in MG Counterattack at Son and Devon Basic Training.
  13. Please try it out in Battle for Normandy. MG Counterattack at Son. I tried to make a screen shot by bailing out a HQ crew from his Panther tank and the crew of one other Panther tank. My screen shot didn't record the move icon, so it is pointless to show the screenshot. The HQ crew couldn't mount a different Panther. However, in the tutorial campaign 'Devon Basic Training' you can bail out the drivers and they can crew a different truck.
  14. Here is possibly an interesting link for you. These people use a 3D map-making engine which looks like the one in CM but to a much greater scale. The cool thing is they can make below the ground features of a structure. Army University Press - YouTube
  15. Soviet Union than, I always wondered how they call their artillery? It was all set piece but in RT just put a scout on a tank and voila he can chat with the General. That was engine 3 I will update in the latest version see or they get some bugs first sorted out.
  16. A 'Crack HQ Tank' Get their vehicle immobilized and bail out. I dismounted a Green Crew and tried to let the Crack HQ to man their tank. 🌩
  17. I was in Vietnam 3 years ago 'What an eyeopener'. Families had siblings in the Vietcong and the South Vietnamese army at the same time. Now in Afghanistan logistics are subcontracted out from Pakistan. Security is always compromised.
  18. TRP's in blind spots, I don't play games with them. Sometimes you get five of them and most approaches get blocked. The AI attacking doesn't stand a chance.
  19. There is another one. Sympathetic broadcasters using radio stations using coded messages. That's what they used to do during WW2. Despite the German censorship by the 7th of June the population in the Netherlands knew that D-Day was a success. It was broadcast from England and most households had their wireless hidden away. Getting caught meant striped pj's for the next few years. It would make another interesting game.
  20. I agree with you there, TBH I never played for 'Red'. Is it on par with a WW2 unit? I stayed in enough 3rd World countries and most kids there have a mobile phone.
  21. Whether you mount or dismount it should be done behind a terrain feature away from the enemy.
  22. How can the vehicle take off? The destination of the 'Truck' is the farming complex where HQ is. That is where he stops, the passengers will go wherever the truck stops. Just make sure the truck is in a secure location. I don't plot a travel waypoint during the turn the passengers are boarding or you can do by pausing the truck. The truck must also stop before the units can debus.
  23. You can I suppose, @Sgt.Squarehead I run out of patience in a game and pressed the cease fire button. Result a Major Victory but not Total. There was just a spy hiding near the edge of the town. I think Uncon Spies are counted. Their role is not 100 % clear. They don't have a means of contacting you. I made one walk the streets near a seaside resort and saw some contacts. Then I just make him walk by coincidence to a Marine HQ. Like you suggested they need a mobile, you can do other things with them apart from triggering IEDs.
  24. Small correction you need only to plot the vehicle to the rendezvous point. You can change as usual the moving speed of the units. Just a little guess work.
