Thing with Combat Mission I've learned is it punishes impatience and rewards thoughtful planning. My very first game I played I thought I could just wing it and successfully rush into a city and take over...that was a bad mistake. Lost most of my armor and my team was wiped out. You have to be careful with how you approach a situation.
Also, if battles were so easy to conquer, why does it take on average 250,000 bullets for every enemy killed IRL: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-forced-to-import-bullets-from-israel-as-troops-use-250000-for-every-rebel-killed-314944.html
It's not easy. War is freaking hard. And Combat Mission does a good job exhibiting that difficulty.

Uh... do you have a save/replay of this? Because the infantry behavior was a huge pet peeve of mine and I have tested the new behavior and posted about it to the point of annoyance, and I can say with 100% confidence that the new TacAI behavior is superb. Infantry do not break and run unless their morale goes to pieces. Rattled infantry won't flee. Infantry are much less brittle now than they were even a patch ago. Again, I have literally tested this a ton. I'm legitimately baffled by your statement.
This seems much more likely to be the case. If you force your infantry to suffer massive casualties and abuse the hell out of them, then their morale will break and off they'll go.
Are you sure you patched your games correctly? CMSF2 should show v2.03 if it has been patched correctly.

I have (very) vague memories of the CMSF original but the CMSF2 update was certainly different.
I gave it a quick spin...
... the Syrians have a lot of advantages & one bad move can lead to horrific losses.
It's tricky but a hell of a blast.

Well, it's a hard pill to swallow (was for me also), but the game is right in principle, although one guy defeating two US squads is a bit extreme. IRL doing FISH with "tacticool" swat\coin like room clearing tactics against a prepeared\entrenched opfor will end in disaster for your troops. You always want some fire from the outside, especially of the explosive type that can go inside the building to do its job.

sounds promising for sure. I´m not a programmer and just know basics that I rather call "hacking" techniques. One the issues to deal with certainly is game performance. The more if you have many AI entieties on the map and active. Some can be solved by caching and spawning, but the more you put into a module the harder it is to keep a balance. I wish you luck and I´m looking forward to any progress you´ll make with it.

thanks for posting! I´d enjoyed ARMA 2 and Iron Front quite a lot with many the AI add ons applied. Haven´t come to switch to ARMA 3 and its WW2 mods yet unfortunately, but that´ll change in the near future.
Edit: That footstep sounds appear bits too meaty IMO, but off course that can be modded as well.

I somewhat disagree. While I do believe that PR should never respond to every little complaint (it would take a lifetime), I think a general update would do them well. And, while some would definitely be annoyed with the delay, I would think that most reasonable people would understand the process and accept it. BF's ultimate goal shouldn't be about ending these silly arguments. Rather, their focus should be on heightening the quality of their brand image and their communication with the consumer.

    Hi everyone,
Here is a cinematic video featuring Shock Force 2! This is meant to be a showcase, similar in concept to a gameplay trailer. Keep in mind this is footage taken from a beta build of the game, and things are subject to change and all that. Hope you all enjoy!
