I don't know if there has ever been published a number of the amount of European volunteers, or volunteers from other countries, that are fighting for Ukraine but it seems they have been, or still are, quite many. It's also possible that some of those who went home will return when the promised offensive have started for real. Maybe new volunteers will sign up too so they can be a part of this moment.
With all the talking about "If we don't stop Russia now, we will have to fight the Russians when they later on decide to attack other countries in eastern or central Europe" the words quoted above seem to be the mindset that many of those "Defenders of a free Europe" are expressing when they decide to stop Russia's possible expansion into Europe.
From what I have read and watched about this conflict many Ukrainians have the same mindset and say that it's essential to help Ukraine and stop Russia there instead of giving them a victory that might make them feel invinsible.
As mentioned above "the same flag, the same emblem, but, above all, the same ideals" about a Europe with independent countries working together against a despotic state from the east is possibly what's at stake here according to some people in this thread and other know-it-all people.

Why not the alt + right combination? Isn't the alt + right movement based on repeating what has been done before, just like all other more or less radical groups?

That one was beautiful. A "Z" that is around 150 years old. But what Mr. Mikhalkov forgot is that the Swastika is even older than that.

I don't know what kind of emails you're getting from people, but I can't really recognise that "typical customer" from this forum at least. Maybe I saw someone like that post once or twice in ten years.
On the contrary, I think the people I see here are generally quite polite and constructive, and with a lot of knowledge about history. Many have a military background and often work in highly technical careers.
What I do see here are a lot of suggestions, polite requests, and bug reports. Sometimes frustration that important issues can take a very long time to get patched. And I also see some very creative and talented people spending countless hours on scenario design and modding to improve any part of the game they are able to improve.
But despite this, I'm also getting the impression that Battlefront in general feels under perpetual siege by completely unreasonable and childish customers who don't know what they actually really want.
It's really puzzling to me why there seems to be this gap between what I read on the forums and the messaging back to the players.
Also, I'm puzzled about the priorities of Battlefront. If I understand correctly, it seems you have now spent around a whole year trying to program some kind of PBEM tournament system. In all the years I've been on this forum, I must have read hundreds of ideas people had about things they'd like to see in the game. But I've never seen anyone ask for an automated tournament system.
As someone who has spent many hundreds of hours on your games, I can say for sure they don't 'suck'. I don't have time to play games that suck. There's just a lot of things that could be improved a lot. And that's why I stopped buying them after buying only two titles. It has very little to do with the price point and it was not to make some kind of big statement. But it was very influenced by not seeing the game move forward in a more fundamental way.
Personally I'd be fine with it if my own little list of pet peeves, suggestions, and ideas are never implemented, if it at least means some of the other good ideas that other people have put forward are. Nobody's asking for the moon on a stick here, just some kind of progress in some area would be nice.

That description of how much the CM2 engine has to work almost makes me think that there's a great need for making a new game engine that can deal with all that much easier.

Battlefront hears you. And now, let's push out three new modules and two new battlepacks. Battlefront hopes that those maybe will make us forget about the different issues.

It seems that new modules is what Battlefront is focusing on instead of doing changes to the game engine that will improve the simulation aspects of the games.
There are supposed to be changes to the engine that will improve the ability to play the game for those with certain so called "computer rigs" that are experiencing problems today.
That is of course great. But to improve to simulation aspects of the game are still more important than to push out even more new modules for a game with a very limited game engine.

If someone would like to read a compilation of both the German and Soviet documentations of the battle around Olkhovatka 15 - 17 September 1942, where the German 13 Army Corps was situated along the river Don, that is to be found here.
This pfd-file comes with the Bird Grove DLC for the Graviteam Tactics game Mius-Front.
If you are one of those "Combat mission fanboys" you obviously have the policy to never touch anything connected to Mius-Front.
    That's ok with me.
@Panzerjaeger The file T-312 AOK Norwegen, are those the rolls to the Norwegians of the skijäger-Battalion or the ones of the Legion Norwegen?
Never mind. I download the files and look myself. Both groups of Norwegian volunteers are interesting anyway.

Wasn't it Victoria Nuland that used the expression "**** the EU" in the beginning of the Ukraine crisis in 2013 or 2014? Maybe this is a part of that?

The Russian orthodox church is of course supporting the war and now the mobilisation with the statement that Russian soldiers who die in Ukraine are cleansed of their sins.
It's interesting how the Baltic States and maybe even Finland and the Scandinavian countries look at those russians that are trying to leave the country to avoid being sent to the front. A Lithuanian politician said something like "These men were happy to sit on their butt and watch about the war on tv without it bothering them much. But now when they risk being sent to die they all of a sudden run away from their country or start protesting against being sent away".
Maybe stopping them from leaving the country can force them and their relatives to cause trouble to the Russian government.

If the designer thinks that the player might want or need extra time he can choose that option. Then the designer can either make additional AI-movements up to the end of that extra time or just skip the extra movements if he thinks that they aren't necessary.

Still no update about the engine 5 upgrade. Steven either forgot to mention it in the first post or deliberately left that information out.

It seems that some people judge this game as "useless" or similar and give up trying to figure out how to play it successfully when the only reason to why it doesn't work for them is that they're too lazy to even try enough.
It's just like someone who says a book is bad or stupid only because they haven't given themselves the time enough to learn how to read before they expected the book to contain easily understandable pictures.

I have watched a few videos of this game by the youtuber Tonci87 and he sure enjoys playing Mius Front. It seems that the orders you give to your troops are a bit more advanced than what we have in Combat Mission, which seems to be a problem for some people that expect something like Men of War or similar, but that is possibly making the game feel more correct.
I have often wondered why there's no option to order the troops to walk in single line or on a wide formation in CM. And in CM there's also no option to order the troops to move forward and to tell them where to run if they are being shot at. When playing wego that kind of option isn't necessary but it could be useful for those that play real time.
If my laptop can play this game I'll try it out and I am sure I'll have fun with it. From what I have seen from the videos by Tonci87 it seems Battlefront could learn a lot from Graviteam if they decide to make a new game engine.
