Worse than the magic pixel through woods.

Recommended Posts

I have a Su-85 actually firing through one wall of a two storey building at a Marder; the closest wall has been already demolished while firing against infantry. Quantum CMRT?

If the code for area fire just selects a point around the target area, we get pure magic... just like Christmas

It's almost certainly the same issue as with woods.  The AI can "spot" a one-pixel wide gap in walls or dense woods and shoot thru that hole even tho' it is completely invisible to the human eye.

The other issue that does not seem to have been solved is the "indestructible tree" phenomenon.  Hide your tank immediately behind a tree so that the tree is between the tank and the enemy gun and watch the enemy AT rounds bouncing off the tree.

The corollary is the gun that insists on using up all its ammo shooting at a target but the rounds keep hitting a tree and the crew cannot move the gun a bit.

Yes, in a PBEM just now my IS2 round was stopped by a tree a couple of metres in front of an enemy Panther.  Hmmm....

Placing one's armor immediately behind a tree so that the tree is between you and the enemy gun is a well-known tactic to create invulnerability.  Maybe it's gamey, but often in maps with much woods it often happens even if not intended.  Since both sides can get this advantage the best thing is to use the tactic and not worry about it.
