Some people here say, that you cant add Javelins, NLAWS, AT-4´s, Stingers, and all other juicy stuff. Becouse the Ukrainians didnt have them in 2017! But really? They didnt have them 12 month ago either! They got all these nice weapons, becouse Russia was building up on their borders! And most of it, after the invasion! 
 
Why could that not happen, in an 2017 scenario? Could a 2017 War, play out as the 2022 war. With the support of an unanomous west? Maybe not in the same way, before the invasion. But when the invasion ****, was a reality? Just asking?  

A large number of whom have been incinerated in their vehicles, they will in most cases still be recorded as MIA.

They are just joking about future crisis and prices falling on the scrap metal market )

I want to add. There is time of massive invasion and Russian advance is finished. All 100 % and already even some more Russian troops entered in Ukraine. They stuck and turn to defense or conduct heavy assault actions or active probes around some cities. So, there is a time of large columnes is gone until no decisive advance. Only small groups of vehicles now on the road

Leaves you with b) as the most reasonable answer, given all the other indications that Russian combat power is on the backfoot and there appears to have been a dramatic fall in use of Kalibr missiles. But "running out of everything else" also critically includes IDEAS.

In addition there are plenty of political indications that Putin knows full well that the special operation is not working out, and there could be all kinds of other ramifications coming down the track if it's not over soon. As posted by Steve:

Hold on... you can't be saying that there are no "good Russians"?   That's rather extreme.

I know its defensive, you know its defensive, but its setup to defend against the USSR and now Russia (primarily). So Russia sees it as a threat.  Now NATO is expanding East, but its by choice not by conquest.
So theoretically, if Putin is dethroned and Russia somehow becomes a Western democracy (don't ask me how. I can't see it happening) and then joins NATO, that would effectively put an end to NATO.  It could be disbanded since there is no longer a threat.  Or NATO could stay in place and defend against Chinese aggression.  Or any other state that decides it wants to attack a NATO country.
@kraze, would you like to see Ukraine in NATO and/or the EU?  That question goes to @Haiduk also.  I know that I would.  Any other outcome to this war would do a disservice to those who have died defending it.  At the very least, Ukraine should become part of the EU.

I played a quick battle, with downpour and mud. at Huge rough-water-town map. I was the defender, with a reinforced Ukrainian company. The Russians attacked with a reinforced BTG. But it became too realistic, so it was not fun to play. 2/3 of the Russian vehicles got stuck in the mud.

If this is going according to plan? I wounder what that plan looked like? The destruction of Russias economy? The destuction of the Russian army elite divisions? Exactly what is going on as planed?
