    Speaking of code legacy, if the Area Target command could be splitted in two:
    Circular target (existing Area target)
    Rectangular target (new!)
    Perhaps something for Engine 5.

    US arty observation/recce vehicles improve ToT for arty bombardments if FO is mounted. May be they also improve precision though I haven't tested. Russian/Ukrainian vehicles do not have any effect on ToT so they're no more than a free taxi.

    Indeed, only the Ukrainians can have them on map. But, for a Russian Anti-tank Battalion, the MT-12 are only off map.
    Any particular reason? A Russian doctrine behind?

    Thanks, I see my mistake. There is a difference between vehicle type and vehicle variant.

    So changing it at Btn level alters the base vehicle type for the whole formation. The US vehicles can only bring Bradleys, but individual vehicles can have different bits stuck on (ERA and APS).

    The Russians have different base vehicles, which you can only change at Btn level (BMP-2, BMP-2M and BMP-3), but only the BMP-3M has any sub-variants with addons that you can change at individual vehicle level (ARENA, ERA, Shtora).

    The game use these vehicles very simplified.
    The core of COP is 1V14 - vehicle of battery comamnder. 1V14 crew can establish single main observation post or two or three observation posts - main, forward and side. Usually there are main and forward. Main located near battalion HQ. Forward - close to forward positions. Forward obserwation post usually leads control platoon commander and he is a spotter (this is FO team in unit editor). Main observation post usually deployed out of 1V14 - equipmnet allows to use it outside. 1V14 has obsolete equipment, so by experience of Donbas war used mostly as transport, than for FO missions. In real life positin of 1V14 is "zero point" for artillery battery. Relatively it current coordinates, the  firing data are calculated. So, in real life you can't move 1V14 from previous position more than on several dozen meters and open fire immediately - you have to re-calculate own coordinates and this will take as miniumum 6 minutes for very rough result (and probably your firing will have big under/over shots) and about 20 minutes for more precise data. In the game you can change position and open fire simultainously.
    PRP-4M - this is the almost the same thing that Forward observation post, but which have own armor and this is vehicle of artillery battalion level. PRP can move on battlefield, determine coordinates of targets, transmit its to 1V14 or on higher levels etc. So, it almost similar by purpose to BRM-1K. PRP-4M has radar and even one of the first Soviet thermal sight 1PN59 (but in the game it probably has radar only). PRP-4M can conduct artillery recon in more improtant sector of artillery battalion or can be attached to one of battalion's battaries as additional recon means
    1V152 is new Russian FO vehicle wich should substitute 1V14 and 1V18 (not present in the game - the same as 1V14, but on the base of BTR-60PB for towed artillery) vehicles. But it also can be used with the same purposes like PRP-4.

    I suspect I am not fully understanding the question.  The base TOE in the game attempts to be as accurate as possible within game design/choice limitations.  The BMP-3K and BMP-2K are probably interchangeable in RL in this type of Russian formation.  As a result they are setup to be interchangeable in the game TOE (I'm not a Russian TOE expert).    
    True.  The base TOE does not show the mixing of differently equipped companies within the battalion presumably because in RL most battalions, of this type, had the same BMPs in their companies.  For logistical, maintenance, training etc. this makes sense.  However, as a scenario designer or player you may want to have a mix of vehicles anyways.  This mixing is mostly possible, if that's what you want, by using the single vehicle purchase option and adding them where desired.  However the company & platoon HQ vehicles will stay true to the accurate TOE.  In some other TOEs the Bn. HQ vehicles will also not be changeable. 
    If you're trying to make purchases for a head to head quick battle this may be a little frustrating since buying single vehicles and plugging them into a formation is generally more expensive than using the organic vehicles.  IIRC this is because each "Single Vehicle" you buy comes with a surcharge (maybe 15 points?).

    You need to select the battalion formation itself, the top-level label "1st Tactical Group (Battalion [BMP])", not the individual vehicles. Then you'll be able to select which variants of BMP that the various sub-formations use.

    Few variants of BMP-1 like BMP-1, BMP-1P, BMP-1PK, BMP-1K
    Few variants of T-55 like T-55MV, T-55-1974, T-55-1970
    Few variants of BTR-60 like BTR-60PB, BTR-60PBK
    Anti-Tanks like SPG-9, RPG-18, RPG-29, variants of AT-3 like AT-3B, AT-3C, AT-3D perhaps AT-4A
    Small arms like AKM, AKMS, RPD, DSHKM, NSV
    Few more artillery like:
    M1937 82mm mortar

    So many things I would like to see. So many things that was said in this thread and other threads.
    More AI programming, more AI artillery commands, more AI groups, triggers for reinforcements ... I agree
    Ability to split squads in vehicule... I agree
    Ability to unacquire ammos or weapons... I agree
    But, the most important to me, is to teach the TacAi that when it is done, it is done.
    When your pixeltruppen enter in a kill zone, avoid it. Find another way. I know this is not a human player. But, as soon as bullets are coming to you, run, avoid them, don't do like a terminator, you are not a terminator.
    And don't continue to try using the same way, it is done. It is done!

    UKR volunteer UAV unit "Aerorozvidka" (eng. "Air recon") issued the video of own strike detachment combat work. They use armed variant of R18 "Zhnets' " (eng. "Reaper") octocopter. This UAV was developed by initiative group of Zhytomyr Military Institute and produces in small number in their own workshop. Strike variant of the drone armed with two RKG-1600 HEAT bombs, designed by Mayak factory on the base of old Soviet RKG-3 HEAT antitank grenade. Accuracy of dropping is 1 sq.m from 300 m of altitude.
    In the video you can see not only different strikes on enemy vehilces and facilities in night conditions, but also working of UAV operator with some sort FBCB system "Delta"

    Have to agree with @ncc1701e
    Mitigating the TacAI's suicidal urges can be a major part of one's effort when designing an AI attack.....More AI groups, movement options, artillery options etc. etc. would all help.
    We all know the situation when we give what seems like a perfectly sensible order and our pixeltruppen interpret it in their own unique way and get themselves slaughtered.
    Now imagine trying to give all those orders blind and in advance!
