    Hi!
It has been bothering me for quite some time now that on newer systems fog is no longer working in CMx1 due to a missing feature in current graphics cards called fog table. I tried searching for a solution several time to no avail until a few days ago I have found a way to make it work. After I found it I sawn that it has bee posted on this forum too but in a different topic somewhere down the line so I thought if anyone else is interested maybe it should be in a more visible topic.
So the solution is downloading a DirectDraw wrapper under the following link: https://github.com/narzoul/DDrawCompat/releases/tag/experimental
Download the ddraw.zip, you will find a ddraw.dll inside it and what you have to do is copy this file into the folder where your CMx1 game executable is found. That is the root folder in CMBB and CMBO and \Run in CMAK. That's it. If you run your game this dll will be loaded instead of the offical one and it solves the fog table issue.
I have found one problem on my system that using the nVidia card the game would not run but using the intergrated graphics card it worked like a charm. According to others nVidia should work as well.
One other thing I was wondering is that I have a considerable collection of scenarios for the three CMx1 games, around 2300 for CMBB, 1600 for CMBO and 1100 for CMAK. I don't know if there is any copyright issue with sharing it but if there is none and there are people interested I can make them somehow available. I have checked that the old scenario depot contains around 1100 for the three and that number is 5000 for me.

Wow so far I'm really impressed. Thanks BFC. Loaded up my Omaha project I was working on a long time ago and hey no more fleeing Germans from a random tank round.

A 90mm HE from M36 hit a house with a squad of pioneers, they didn't quickly run outside like they did before. Instead, they slowly retreated to the 1st floor of the house. This is an improvement, IMHO.

This is an absolute terrible campaign in all terms flat across the board, playing as US with the 29th. It seems like a diorama rather than an actual campaign. I don't know if the most current update patch with the soldiers skills broke it or it was better before. Terrible.

Time table on when beginning of Barbarossa units/weapons/vehicles  will be made? Since I don't own red thunder which has the years of 1944-1945, I am guessing the newer would have  TO&E of 1941-1943.

a "simplified random map generator" that allows to quickly generate a map of particular size and terrain contours only would probably suffice. This one can be used to "creatively" fill the map with other content by the map/mission designer. I used it in CMX1 quite a lot (create random map and then delete everything but the contours). Having just the contour lines, I determined low lying areas where possibly creeks, ponds and lakes would likely be. Then determining flat or rather sloped terrain to be then either valid candidates for forestation and cultivation. Then comes finding valid places for farmsteads, towns and other buildings, followed by plausible lines of communication. Then spice it up creatively and work out details. Urbanizing such a map then is also fairly simple. How would´ve developed that farmstead into a village? Village to town and up? Maps created this way look quite realistic and naturally IMO. Having such a map finished more or less, possible scenario (or QB) creation ideas then develop rather quickly.
