Ye’ve no heard me spake! I did one video where I spoke and seemingly my accent aka brogue was too strong! 🤣

Perhaps some people are confuddled by your list. "Veritable" is very much "in" rather than "out". As are, "Varsity", "Remagen" and "Cologne", unless my 400 year old noddle is playing tricks on me.

I forgot one instance. Airborne unit's 75mm PAK howitzers can indirect fire from on-map. Probably the minimum range is so short that it falls within most maps.

Simple answer: The crew will move the MG with the tripod attached for a few meters for quick repositioning.
To give you a picture: Each soldier grabs a leg of the tripod and runs.

The weapon in this configuration is heavy and unwieldy. For the MG42 with tripod and ammo is, I believe, somewhat around 20-30kg. So soldiers probably won´t do this for longer marches. Though they could do it farther than it is depicted in the game but you have to set the rule somewhere.

I believe the sweetspot of when the soldiers will move instantly is around 30m (3-4 actionsquares). After that they will pack up the configuration in 2 pieces again.

As pointed out above, assets like the Wespe or the Priest can only be used in a direct fire mode if they are an on-map asset. You can only use them in an indirect fire mode if they were purchased as an off map artillery asset.
On the other issue, when you want to issue an order to a on-map mortar, you need to have a radio and C2 link from the spotter to the mortar. There is an exception as explained in the CM Engine Manual 4.0 (page 77):

I'm in bocage country, not my favourite terrain feature.
Hope your mortars show up (as reinforcements maybe?).

The US "Spearhead" campaign will be next up for me. I'm looking forward to less mud, less woodland, and poorer quality German troops.

I'm not, my attention has been directed elsewhere.  But I also need all the arty I can get, although I'm developing a reputation for dumping it on my own troops 🙄.  Except when it comes to on-map mortars.  I have a new-found liking for the US 60mm by way of an example.

I think we all have to adopt a different approach. Mainly because George wasn't able to create a "everything stops for tea" battle plan for the Allied AI.

We all know that's not simple.  Oh hang on, you're talking about RL 🤣.
As for the Lone Tiger tactic, when I played George's version, I adopted a different approach.  And it worked.

I like the video overall. It was a plausible version of events that mostly made sense. And putting everything on a map was helpful for understanding what was happening. The main issue was that there are already so many different versions of the story (this is apparently one of the most overstudied engagements of the entire war) that I would have liked for them to provide some arguments for why I should trust their version more than any other version I may have heard. Just hearing them tell their version, without them making any attempt to establish why their version is more credible than other versions, only left me knowing one more version of the story without giving me any real confidence that I now have a better idea of what really happened.
I am still curious about why Wittman attacked with just his own Tiger if he had a platoon of Tigers. Did his radio break so he couldn't order the others forward? If so, why didn't they follow when they saw him moving forward (or did they not see him moving forward?)? Did he order them to remain behind? If so, why? The need to attack quickly wouldn't have precluded calling a simple "follow me!" over the radio. The possibilities I can think of are:
    1. His radio was broken, and the rest of his platoon didn't see him moving. I think this would have been perfectly excusable for all parties.
    2. His radio was broken, the rest of his platoon did see him, but didn't think to follow him. This would reflect poorly on his platoon.
    3. It just didn't occur to him to order the rest of the platoon forward. This would have made him a bad platoon commander.
    4. He ordered the rest of the platoon to stay behind to provide security. I don't quite know why they couldn't have provided better security to his tank by staying with him, but it's conceivable that someone could argue that this made sense.
    5. He ordered the rest of the platoon to stay behind because he wanted all the glory to himself. This would have made him an abysmal platoon commander.

Still playing the Spearhead campaign, I have finally reached the big Elsdorf scenario, which seems to represent an early highlight of the campaign:

Lucky on that day, less so some weeks later...
By the way @George MC's versions of both of these battles are excellent if you haven't tried them.

Thank you for putting me right on that one. Slightly off topic. We visited a National Trust property yesterday. They had an Edisonophone, so I asked the guide if she would play something. She obliged by putting on some ragtime. I then had to explain to both her, and my girlfriend how the wax cylinders were recorded.
Meanwhile back to the first mission. My Canucks didn't sound "British", they sounded like they came from the wrong side of the pond, just as they should do.

I think you'll find that the Brit Awards are not just for ****e electronic dance music.  In fact the electronic dance category might be the least ****e category eligible for an award 😉.

Yesterday I was asked to fill out a survey, part of which was 'Ethnicity'.  Under the 'White' heading (other headings were available) I was surprised to find that I could only choose 'White British' or 'White Welsh'.  🤔.
I immediately called Tom Jones to ask if he considered himself British. He told me to **** ***, even though I know he has quite a bit of English 'in him'.

Oh, dear. There are no "Brits" in this campaign. You begin with the Canucks, and then go on to fight as the Jocks. If you must use a collective to describe members of the British Army in WW2 then use "Limeys".

Bootie is the guru who curates / maintains etc. the repository.  Some of the older items in the repository show him as author, I think as he may not have known who the author was when transferring them.  Is that correct @Bootie?

It’s a good scenario worth playing. Maybe too easy.
There are not all the German troops at the beginning but the map is very large.  Did you try with the lowest model and texture quality?
