So what you're saying is: You can't wait to wait for reinforcements?

Don't worry, the next one will have LOTS of shooting in it.

In my opinion, no go for it. But you can have an insurance scheme - be able to run either one whenever you like. Forget about the daunting task of upgrading just install a new fresh install of CMBN v4. One of the links you can download from your v4 upgrade purchase is a full install of CMBN with all the packs and modules. The download is big but you only have to run one install and active it with your key. So run the full install and make sure you point to a separate location on your HD and presto you can run CMBN v3 or CMBNv4 as you like.

Funny you should mention that. Monday I brought home several boxes of books and games from my storage locker where they have been residing for the last twelve years, and one of the games was Fulda Gap, a board game released during the '70s by SPI. It felt kind of nice to hold it in my hands again.

To be honest, that was back in game engine version 1.
Some lessons don't ever get "un-forgotten" though.
EDIT: The presence of trees or other obscurants partially blocking LOS, but not LOF was the contributing factor to the previous observation.
I learned quite a few lessons as a result of that earlier experience:

That beats me; I've only read it twice in forty some-odd years. But I've been thinking that it's getting to be just about time for another go through.
BTW, Netflix is currently streaming a version of The Fellowship of the Ring. I noticed that they cut several scenes from the running, including some that I regard as very important. But for all that, the running time is still nearly three hours. Bring a sandwich and a six-pack.

My hope is for CMFI-module combined with V4 patch during Q2...Anything else would be a possitive supprise...
IIRC it was stated that Chris ND was initially pretty much the lone scenario/campaign designer for the upcomming CMFI module (he has since left the Company)...
After reading Benparks most recent comments on the development it kind of seems like he is 'the main man' for the CMRT-module...
If the playable contents for these modules is pretty much a one man job (apart from testing offcourse) it is not all that strange that things are progressing rather slowely...
Designing a single scenario is a pretty big task...designing something like 10-15 scenarios and maybe 2 or 3 Campaigns is....
A somewhat BIGGER task
I guess this 'hold-up' we have been experiencing will soon be over and we will se the release of a number of stuff...in a pretty short timeframe..
Happy times ahead, hopefully

I've been to Ieper/Ypres twice, and Waterloo three times. But, I still haven't been to the Ardennes. I'm determined to get there one day.

Another question - if Steve is silent, other testers are silent... Maybe they all are victims of some kind of digital Novichok poison and we all just dont know it...

This is a very good point.
Hitler does not appear to have been a student of Sun Tzu. For him, diplomacy was useful only to gain temporary advantages on the way to his war. War was his objective, rahter than the means to achieve objectives. He believed in the supremacy of the German People which would bring about the conquest of Western and Northern Eurasia through a war of conquest.
The British, of course, were consummate diplomats. They struck up an alliance with Stalin and dragged the US into a war in which its people did not want to get involved, helped by Hitler's asinine and futile declaration of war on the US in 1941. He was truly outclassed in this context.

Interesting AAR as always. +1
I did some experiments in CMSF1 after playing @Combatintmans excellent scenario Operation Neptune Spear. I found that stationary infantry (without night vision equipment) were not able to spot, with a confirmed contact, moving OpFor past 28 meters (OpFor that were not shooting). They did of course get tentative contacts past 28 meters. I haven't played many night battles, without NV equipment, however I suspect Listening Posts (LP)s might be useful to the defender. Especially at night in the WWII titles since there is no NV equipment. In theory a scout team with a short target arc placed in or near a suspected OpFor Avenue of Approach should report multiple tentative contacts if the OpFor takes that route. The tentative contacts would not reveal the exact type of OpFor units such as Tiger tanks but it would reveal a tentative armor contact. So if LP on Avenue of Approach #1 (AA1) had two infantry tentative contacts and one light armor tentative contact while in contrast an LP on AA2 had multiple Infantry, Armor and Light Armor tentative contacts the answer to which AA are they likely to take would be answered. Then, in theory, because of the spotting conditions these LP teams should have a decent chance of surviving and continuing to report tentative contacts (I guess it would be even better if the LPs had radios which the WW2 scouts teams won't).
The way you answered the same question worked just fine and is something I have also done. Sometimes intentionally and sometimes not . The conversation just made me remember the above described experiment so I thought I would share how it might work in theory. Good luck and I look forward to more posts.
