Kriegsmarine scenario - still haven't gotten anywhere near beating it - would love to see a video AAR of someone doing this as I really think it is impossible - and as other posters said, frustrating. I had another several gos today and failed repeatedly. The mortars don't seem to have any effect on the larger buildings Anymore detailed hints anyone??
Hi Michael. If you are on a Mac there is a (program?) you need to run to get the activation screen to appear (I think of is accessed via cmbn in explorer). I am not at my Mac at the moment (recovering from a New Year's piping tour + too much whisky) but coukd send you a screenshot mañana if you're struggling? Happy New Year everyone!
I'm loving it - it really adds to the atmosphere, and if you are enjoying it too - great! You're adding a lot of detail from a serving officer's point of view, which really helps in understanding modern tactics.
yes, I agree, as a general principle, I do think, however, that some scenarios are practically unwinable first time through (courage and fortitude.....).
Fascinating stuff Bil. I'm glad I'm not fighting against you! I am avidly following the DAR - thank you for all the work you are doing - I come back to your DARs time and time again because they are so full of information.
Very meaty sound - I like it. You've convinced me that I don't want to be on the wrong end of one of them! Volume seems ok to me.
What Russian weapons would use that sound? The current vanilla heavy mg sounds seem very odd to me.
Someone else in John's defence. I think some of the negative comments are in relation to comments John made quite a while ago. I appreciate his input into the forum and he has brightened up my days on several occasions. He often raises interesting points for discussion, and I am very impressed in his perseverance in battling (literally) his way through some scenarios!
Ok, thanks. What I think I understand from that is that you think the smoke grenades from infantry/tanks are modelled ok but not the smoke shells that tanks are firing?
OK, so when I target smoke with a sherman, for example, I am guessing it is currently shooting Base Emission, but WP seems a much better option (at least for emergency blinding a sudden threat)?
Yes, I wondered whether that was realistic too - it makes sense that the detonation of a shell results in more instantaneous smoke. This would definitely change in-game dynamics.
