You should check out the nahverteidigungswaffe thread Bud. Its me going up against an immobilized Panther with 2 sherman 75s and a full platoon of infantry. It doesn't go very well for me.

nahverteidigungswaffe
delliejonut replied to Doug Williams's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Haha. If you're wondering what my tank is doing at 30 seconds in the video, it spots the Panther, and seeing that the Panther's gun is facing the other direction and having an incredibly easy shot into it's flank, pops smoke and backs away So many lives down the drain. I hope c3k approves -
Combat Mission Movie Number 6: Tank Battle
delliejonut replied to PaulMD's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
One with no music would definitely have the Saving Private Ryan feel to it, either way your direction was excellent! Completely engrossing.- 15 replies

Brief overview of where CM is headed
delliejonut replied to Battlefront.com's topic in Combat Mission Fortress Italy
Glad to hear about the Battlepacks idea. It'll be reassuring to know that new campaigns and scenarios will have a high standard of quality. Also, I must have missed that post about Kampgruffe Engel from ChrisND. Other campaigns in CMBN are broken as well, are they being looked into? Thanks for the good news. -
Kibitzer's Korner - Gamey SOB Challenge - No Doug No Bil
delliejonut replied to bobo's topic in Combat Mission Fortress Italy
I agree, they should flip. I think Bil could plan a lot better the second time around. To be honest though, I'm rooting for Doug to win. I'm a big fan of Bil's, but my record vs Doug is 3-2 in his favor, so him beating Bil will make me look better -
Mods & Speed quick question
delliejonut replied to borg's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I don't have the best graphics card in my notebook, and I find that on larger scenarios I'm better served turning mods off and the quality low. But I'm surely near the bottom of the barrel, for me the difference isn't so much smoothness as it is playability. On small scenarios I have no problems. -
This is exciting. I am excited with an excited face. Thanks for setting this up. Would I still need to port forward to play a real time game with Hamachi?

Got it fully patched running, but any thoughts on why this is occurring? I speak American -
Patch 1.31 removed my .exe
delliejonut replied to delliejonut's topic in Combat Mission: Shock Force Tech Support
Thanks Highland. Mord, I'm don't think I need that patch. I bought the Marine/British/Nato bundle and installing it patched my game to 1.30 automatically. -
Patch 1.31 removed my .exe
delliejonut replied to delliejonut's topic in Combat Mission: Shock Force Tech Support
Also, several of my CMSF directory folders are not in English. -
Got a hard copy Paradox version of CMSF, bought all three bundled modules and installed them fine. Then I install the 1.31 patch and my .exe disappears. I ran the game and licensed the modules before I installed the patch. Any suggestions?

My grandad was a truck driver too! He drove his in the PTO, he used to joke about he was mainly worried about the headhunters living on the island.

I never use that one. The rarity is through the roof. -
Best way to learn this game
delliejonut replied to acctingman1969's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Pay attention to detail. Go slow. Pretend you're in your soldiers shoes. Bil Hardenberger has a great guide for new and old players here: Battle Drill It will help immensely if you find some period manuals covering company sized attacks, recon, movement and the like. And they're not dull reads either. Researching tactics and then applying them to the game is very fulfilling. -
CMBO CM:BN Equipment comparrison chart
delliejonut replied to Mord's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Don't think I don't appreciate it. I'm just impressed is all. I forget about my posts as they happen. Thanks for all your hard work though, it is really nice to have info like this in one place. I typically save these kind of posts to a word doc on my computer. -

Big time necro dude. LOVE IT. This game would be complete if only they included the 25 lber AT gun. If only. -
Michael Emrys are you there?
delliejonut replied to Sequoia's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I haven't commented on this thread because I've never really talked to the guy. I think he went AWOL about the time I joined and started making posts. I have been following though and it lifts my spirits to know he's ok and that someone would go through the trouble of tracking him down. -
We came up with one possible solution to the Player as God problem on the Black Sea thread about shorter turn times. The idea being during set up you make all your orders for the whole game and then see where the chips fall. If you wanted to get gamey with it I suppose you could change orders after 15 or 20 turns. A variation on this is two players picking forces in the scenario editor and creating AI plans for their side, then watching the battle from the author test. Someone needs to make the first AIAAR Edit to say on the BS thread no one wanted shorter turns except the poster. By the end even he changed his mind, I think

Does Bill H still play?
delliejonut replied to Doug Williams's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I was one of the last to play Doug, it'll be interesting to see how you handle him Bil. Did you two set up any house rules beforehand? -
Yeah I've killed a couple of Greyhounds with HMG42s, it's very effective

You'll hear the sound of them flying overhead. It's very distinct.

Well I do know it's in a nation's interest to release news stories that inflate their own capabilities.
