  1. Interesting and valid points both. It should be noted my vehicles took no damage of any kind though, and are open-backed. Haha! I guess the trucks are remaining locked until the drivers receive full workers comp... unfortunately the ensuing court battle is out of the scope of a tactical simulation.
  2. There Can Be Only One Was playing the first mission from A Moment in Time the other day. I decided to advance up the left flank to the bridge, and left my trucks behind some buildings in cover. However, I dismounted my drivers to man the MG's on my halftracks. Some ways into the battle I noticed that my trucks were being knocked out one by one. It took me several turns to realize the trucks were being knocked out whenever its respective driver was killed. I'm not necessarily complaining... truck driving is an art few are equipped for lol. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this, is it a bug or intentional, yada yada. I could understand the reasoning for it... but then again it's thousands of rounds of ammo gone just like that.
  3. I hate to necro this thread, but it popped up in my Google search. IMHO you're doing yourself a disservice by not putting Combat Mission on Steam. They have and continue to impact gaming in a very significant and positive way, in part due to their stellar service and dedicated community. This game series should not be such a well kept secret Their ability to promote through advertising and word of mouth on the forums makes it seem like a no-brainer. Black Sea is coming soon and I think a lot of people would be intrigued by it's premise and gameplay mechanics. Combat Mission is what strategy enthusiasts want and it would be a shame if they never got to play it simply because they didn't know where to look. Just because it is on Steam doesn't mean you have to stop your own distribution. The older grogs can still play with the website community, without being interfered with. I'm a Steam fan because of automatic updates, messaging, the forums, community groups, mod uploads on the Workshop, ect. Steam is popular for a reason- it works. Please consider it
  4. Can a mod be made that allows RTS style gameplay? For example in the game Company of Heroes, you spawn on map with a headquarters, build a base and units, capture & hold objectives and resources ect. I could be into that style of game if it used CM2. An alternative could be a reinforcement system that allows a player to receive two or three waves of troops in a match, and sort of spontaneously decide what those troops are when the option to reinforce becomes available. It might be a little gamey and/or impossible to make, but what the hey ya know. Recon would be more involved if you could choose your reinforcements based on what you could see of your opponents forces.
  5. I don't know if it would be possible to implement this, but I think it would be great if multiple players could fight on the same side, i.e. in a company vs company engagement each player commanding a platoon sized force with another player in control of HQ directing fire and movement. It would be even cooler with larger battles. C2 would be more compelling if you had to maintain contact with human players instead of just losing bonuses to combat proficiency. Thoughts?
  6. Thanks marshall. I just downloaded In Search of a Ghost, so that should tide me over until I buy the modules bundle. Can't wait
  7. I'm new to shock force, and I'm currently playing through the base campaign. I was wondering if there were any free mods or scenarios that are of high quality and people feel a lot of love for thx
