  1. Keeping a constant FPS is much more important than keeping a maximum. I'd much rather have a constant 30fps then one bouncing around constantly between 60 and 30.
  2. Here are a few I'm hoping for. Map marking - ability to put "markers" on the map with a label. Useful for keeping notes for oneself. Holes in bocage markers - having to visually go across a row of bocage to find openings is no fun. Building door and window icons. As per bocage, rotating around a building to find out where doors and windows are is a pain and it makes city fights that much more aggravating. Follow road command, for me a lot of the "follow" command was simply to get a convoy down a diagonal road without putting a bunch of waypoints to keep them from going into the trees. This would be along the lines of a vehicle will follow a road if it is within an action spot of the line you drew for the path. I realize this is not as easy as it sounds to implement but I'm guessing it is easier than the follow command and might be doable. Visible waypoints for the actual path a unit will take. Place a waypoint and a separate color line will appear showing the path the unit will take to get there (based on current conditions of course - if things change the path might as well). This helps for getting through bocage and such.
  3. If I win it will be CM: Pacific, which I think is a longer shot than the Space Lobsters otherwise.
  4. Weapon2010 - that comes up as an invalid link. Can you double check it? (really want to see the new AI in action...)
  5. I've lost FAR more dead tree books to a flood than I have lost Kindle books to being deleted. (the score is over 100 to zero). It is funny how the flaws in the new are so dreadful while the equal flaws in the old are just the way it is.
  6. One way it works is the German penchant for counterattacks - counterattacking into a 90mm AA gun is enough to ruin most German tanks' day.
  7. Just so it doesn't get lost (I did a quick scan and did not see a reference to it in page 4 and 5) - the original post is about Stug crews getting picked off when the player set the Stug to Buttoned up and the crew STILL sticks their heads out to fire the MG. After the first guy gets picked off then another one sticks his head out too. Getting bumped off when opened up may be a problem as well but that is not the original problem.
  8. Sorry, this behavior would happen a couple of times and then the survivors of the platoon/company/battalion in short order would not continue it where as in the game it will happen over and over and over again. As others have pointed out the rapidity with which it happens is also indefensible. I've not read a LOT about infantry combat versus stugs but taking them out with small arms fire as the crew pops out one at a time is not a tactic that ever came up.
  9. I would like to see more about the Bulge module. Perhaps locking any such thread to anyone but admins would be helpful?
  10. Just to add another data point. Installed Win10 a couple days ago and no problems with any software on my machine. Including CMBN, CMFI, and CMRT. Smoothest windows update ever.
  11. to (mis)quote the guy from Robocop "I'd buy that for a point!"
  12. For the guy who had to work for 2 weeks, he may be back before the game ships!
  13. > But do we really want to beat the game over the head with the ugly stick? More clutter? The same clutter that trees represent? They can be turned off and on for good reason. More visual aid toggles for things like terrain height and where doors and windows are would be most welcome.
  14. Not the scenario - there is a CMRT 1.02 bug where many PBEM games are dying at the 26% mark. Check the thread in the CMRT tech support forum. Edit - just noticed you mentioned 3.0, do you mean the 1.02 patch? The other one is for CMBN
  15. Just ran into the PBEM problem and opened a ticket (did not see this thread till after that). Hopefully it gets fixed soon (was having a blast in the game that crashed!)
  16. Played this as the Russians and the Germans and the T34s have a slight advantage. Finding hull down or hidden positions is required for both sides.
  17. Anyone who tries to make you feel guilty for playing a wargame is full of "feces". Grand Theft Auto on the other hand...
  18. As others have said the shoot and pause and then move order doesn't work most of the time with the one minute turn structure. The ability to wait for a target, fire, and then move away instantly (perhaps even leaving the launcher there) would be a nice.
  19. Just made me think of an order I would LOVE to see added to CM, fire and bug out! Especially useful for missile launcher troops.
  20. There is some really neato stuff in there. Infantry and walls for instance. Looking forward to trying it out.
  21. What I learned in CMSF is that if the infantry had Javelin then the vehicles were toast - otherwise the infantry were toast.
  22. I have been tempted and nothing else comes close.
  23. I don't know, if the soviets get their proper amount of pre-battle arty fire it could be a very bad day for the defenders.
