  1. I don't know what good a screen shot would do, a movie showing troops holding position perhaps but I can take a screen shot of troops in buidlings and such now and claim they had been shot at...
  2. I've often had an MG never setup when moved to a building, the unit status says it is setting up but after 10+ minutes for a German MG that should take under 2 I figure it is not going to happen. It could be they were trying to move the gun around since I only checked status at the end of each minute but the MG was not moving from window to window as I recall.
  3. I do not have a save game but it happens so often I should be able to get one. MGs in buildings. Did the latest patch take care of the problem related to that? I NEVER put MGs in buildings any longer since they never appear to being able to setup in them. Endless turns of waiting for them to deploy to fire out the window. I've not even tried since the 4.0 patch so perhaps that has been handled.
  4. Would that really be worse than the "I set my MG up with a LOF and now he sits behind a single skinny tree"? Granted it is the devil we know type of situation...
  5. It would be nice to have a unit with a fire command "wiggle" around an action spot to where they can shoot at the target if needed. Or if this is already in the game to have it loosened up a bit.
  6. One option, that eats up a lot of ammo and time, is to move forward one action spot at a time and fire into any action spot you can reach from there. keep doing this turn after turn. Another option is to use scouts, when they get blasted have you squad go one action spot back from where they were and do the fire at any action spot you can see routine.
  7. Considering the clip as a whole the fact that they got the helmets wrong pales into insignificance.
  8. For an individual scenario sleep deprivation can be "simulated" by using lower quality troops then would be normal. If a campaign could allow pushing the troops and having them be a lower quality level in the next scenario that would be a nice feature too. I don't play campaigns so I don't know if that is already in there.
  9. The problem with the execution of the German scene is not that it happened, we know from GI memoirs and verbal testimony that it happened. It was the forcing the new guy to kill him, and the prolonged nature of the scene that put it beyond the pale. That plus everyone in that tank acted more like scum of the Earth then worn out soldiers.
  10. It's that paper thin armor - you can stick your leg clean through it.
  11. Many modern Russian movies about war fall into the mold of the comic books "Sergeant Rock" and that one about the Stuart tank haunted by Stuart...
  12. Despite some griping I do from time to time Battlefront's customer service is top notch - any time I've reported a problem they had it sorted out within an hour or so by direct communication.
  13. Someone will come along to correct me if I'm wrong but all of the titles (except SF1 and Afghanistan) should be shipping with the 4.0 update now. Your only real concern is what topic you find most interesting and go with that title.
  14. Don't get me started on tree lines, troops (real ones that is) will not setup their AT gun directly behind the largest tree in the forest... I've had the forest firing effect help and hurt me in the past, it is just a bit wonky.
  15. Couldn't read the first post, the formatting drove me nuts. AT guns have done some wonky things on me however, setting one up behind a hedgerow shows a LOS except when the game starts... Moving them a little ways, an action spot or two, should not require packing the thing up - although I grant that allowing it to move a spot or two could be abused with multiple move commands. Individual crewmen go wandering off when changing direction. Perhaps some of these have been fixed but I'm gun shy with AT guns (pun intended) to the point where I don't try to move them, or set them up in cover, etc...
  16. > Also interesting: "After first shot, spigot is recocked automatically due to the recoil blast." So, no standing up to load it in middle of battle as sometimes thought. What I have read is that the recocking mechanism just didn't work very well.
  17. All I can think is that one good bump in the road and the guy would lose all his teeth.
  18. I am on a group called "The Blitz". There is also the "Computer Wargamers Club for Gentlemen". Either of these are good places to look for opponents. Or on Facebook join the Computer wargmers or computer wargamers tactical to strategic groups. I've beaten a couple of my opponents on "The Bltiz" and I'm just a dabbler so there are opponents for every skill set.
  19. Please use a common numbering scheme in the future. It makes it more of a pain in the posterior than it needs to be. I have V3 file in my CMFI downloads but the new one was V2. I had to check a couple times to make sure it was the correct one. I no longer even remember if V3 actually applied to CMFI or was for a different game.
  20. Thanks! CMFI always did have that ugly stepsister vibe, nice to know it is being made a full member of the family now.
  21. I've not seen that turret rotate, tank rotate, turret rotate, etc. behaviour in a long while. It was really really bad back in day.
  22. Doesn't matter that you have the same internet carrier. Only helps if you are both on the same router/cable modem. You have two options. First is to try hamachi - this sets up a VPN where you can just use the IP Hamachi gives you to connect. It is easy but is another bit of software on your machine. https://www.vpn.net/ The second option is to forward the port that CM uses on one of your computers - the other player will then be able to connect. Port forwarding is somewhat complicated but instructions for it are located here. https://customer.xfinity.com/help-and-support/internet/port-forwarding-xfinity-wireless-gateway/
