  1. Any sensible discussion of costs needs to include the butterfly effect. Namely if I toss a grenade or fire a shot in a CM game, does it cause a hurricane on the other side of the world?
  2. All of these. I ran an assault with the 3 squads but had to keep the hq back to sight the mortar. The squads got under fire and started to take casualties. I am going to try this one again and check it out. I think I like Iron for the realism. Because this is real.
  3. Playing on Iron mode for the first time today. I noticed that squads out of c2 with their platoon commander did not follow orders. Then when the Platoon commander did show up on scene, it took a hell of a long time for the squads to start responding again. I never saw this in Elite. This normal?
  4. But is that detailed enough? I mean seriously. Since we are sitting down while playing, we use less oxygen than if we were moving about doing something else like looking at cars. I think Kettler could do some serious groggery on this.
  5. Both CM:BN and CM:RT have the autoloader so the entire program, all updates and patches included loads all at once. When might CM:FI get the same love?
  6. I just get tired of people complaining about the cost of this type of gaming. In my calculation it is one of the cheapest forms out there.
  7. I mean seriously. After spending 400+ hours, It's down to 10 cents per hour of entertainment. All video game companies should charge more, say by the hour. Going to a movie costs $15 for 1.5 hrs entertainment. So games could be the same. $10 per hour!
  8. Sometimes in the midst of my brilliant attack, the computer decides I have won and I don't get to see the end result. Is there any way to continue playing after having won?
  9. JasonC, I loved the first post. Read it through. English is my second language, and as per Joseph Conrad, it is the most beautiful language. I can read that type of prose, your first, all day, as it have massive amounts of information, but it can be stripped down to readable chunks so easily. I deplore low transfer rates of information, especially in spoken form! So frustrating.
  10. AI pathing takes the easier route. to get the AI to take the gap in the bocage, put a waypoint at the gap in the bocage, then in the field.
  11. Really, Not even funny. My grandma, 6'2" dutch woman could kick your lily white puny ass.
  12. I had this happen. I moved the 60 mm mortars out from the edge of a building and the problem was resolved. Pretty awesome game mechanics where it models this.
  13. I don't think this is the case. I have had many a battle where I thought the enemy was dead, the icon dissapeared, only to be ambushed by the enemy when I got close.
