  1. I believe that is actually possible. The 2min time is an approximation there is some randomness mixed in. So some guns will get setup a big quicker and others will take a big longer.
  2. *I'm* not justifying anything. The 6 pounder is 4' 2" tall. Looks about that to me in the picture. But hey beats me if that's really what 4' 2" should look like. So you are comparing it to other guns - good idea. What are the heights of the other guns?
  3. Well that sucks. How does the game UI handle that? For example if I put a face, and pause command on the last way point indicators for both show up. If it add a target then the face is removed and the target command is shown. What I am asking is can you setup the commands such that the last way point displays the word deploy and the word hide? If the UI is indicating that hide is enabled then there is a bug we can log. Either the game should remove the command it cannot do or execute everything it says it will. Clearly the later would be better...
  4. And the Soviet troops have the RPG 43 - which is extra nasty. It is not depicted separate from grenades in their inventory but you can see them in the air. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RPG-43
  5. Hummm. I don't see that. Where on the map exactly? If by xxx you mean numbers in blue that is ditch lock elevation. There is no numbers in pink so I at a loss at to what to guess for that.
  6. That is likely expected. Setting up an MG in a house simulate the need to create a platform for the MG to "see" over the window sill.
  7. ?? the 6 pounder is not a big gun - it's only 4ft high and not quite 6' wide. What are you using for scale to conclude there is a problem in the game?
  8. What texture quality are you using? From the game main screen select Options and look at the entry for 3D Texture Quality. My understanding is that if you select Best it will load all the variants and lower settings will use less of them and at some point will use only one. I have not personally tested this so I don't know how the setting governs the number of variants used but it might be worth a check.
  9. In light of that last exchange I had a peak at what I can see from the outside and with the tools I usually use in FF. My Cross Site scripting protection did not trigger (which is good - pretty good actually) and I gave my thoughts to Steve.
  10. You are of course quite correct about the many ways to cause mischief on the web and the vulnerabilities of various libraries etc. I know you do actually have knowledge in this area. And you and Steve have pointed out that there are never guarantees in this area, heck even the best security experts are frequently behind on zero day exploits because some organizations keep them secret for their own purposes and others just have not been found yet. My comment was directed at someone who has very unreasonable expectations about what can be done and what should be done. Heck he demands completely the wrong solution. Steve has given us a few examples of what he as done and said several times that he is aware that this is not fool proof. So, I appreciate your respect and say - I was not talking to you by any means so please don't take offence.
  11. I'm out of likes for today but I'd say this is spot on.
  12. ??? if they read about the game on a mainstream game site or read about it on steam wouldn't they also realize it's not a casual game and shake their head and go back to their RTS BS?
  13. Are you hard of reading? Steve has said several times he is well aware of the possibility that his own site could be hacked. That's why he had it checked. I honestly have no idea what else you expect. Steve checked the things is company has control over and reported what he knows to his other providers. That's pretty much what can be done.
  14. Do you mean from one game to another? If so, no there is no official way but someone created a tool that tries to tweak some internal bits and do that. It is definitely not supported though.
  15. Yeah wow. I wonder if in six months or so there will be reporting in the news about some big data breach.
  16. I'm an army brat in the '70s my dad was Company CO and then battalion 2IC in London Ont. During really bad winter storms the army would sometimes be asked to rescue stranded motorists because their M113s could go were the fire and police could not. During one of those storms some of the soldiers were having a bit of fun crashing through snow drifts until one was not actually a snow drift but an abandoned car. That was a fairly expensive mistake and there was some hell to pay. Secretly I think my dad thought it was pretty funny but only because no one was hurt. And that certainly could have turned out differently. After all they were literally out there to rescue people who were stuck in cars during a snow storm. So, good thing that one was empty. I did spend a little time as a truck driver in a reserve service battalion (supplies, MPs and food prep). During basic training we had some time with blanks and a night exercise. Before the exercise we were shown how blanks form our FN's were actually still pretty dangerous so we had to use BFAs (they help keep any bits of the casing from heading down range) and there was to be no firing at people if we ended up in close quarters. The thing is even pretending it's hard to remember that. We were patrolling an area around some buildings when the NCO's attacked us. We ended up in close - way to close and I fired on one of the Corporals at close range. Scared the **** out of him - and me frankly. Everyone was fine and he had a bit of a laugh. The original plan was not to get that close but the NCOs thought it would be fun to surprise us. Another time we were bringing supplies and water a fair distance in support of a larger exercise. The weather was really ****ty - raining in sheets I missed a turn and had to do some fancy footwork to get my truck towing a water trailer back on track. Later on the main highway in the heavy rain the highway traffic came to a stand still suddenly. I started stopping and realized that I was not going to stop in time. I was driving a big 2.5 ton truck loaded with supplies with a full water trailer in tow. My Lt was in front of me in his 3/4 ton truck (basically a pickup). When I realized I was not going to make the stop I let go of the breaks and manoeuvred to the shoulder before reapplying the breaks. When I stopped I was looking down from my window into the cab of the other truck. My Lt was white as a sheet - I imagine his driver was the same. Later he joked that his life flashed before his eyes. It turns out earlier in the day during my fancy footwork I managed to damage the break lines to the water trailer so only the truck's breaks were available to slow down. Actually that's not officially how it was recorded but its what I figured happened. Again just glad no one was hurt.
  17. I am pretty sure that exiting the crew would be worth some points. Rescue your men!
  18. I agree on Counter Part - it is really well done. Another one I am watching is Berlin Station - set in present day Berlin around the CIA officers at the Berlin embassy.
  19. A reasonable goal. A good idea - the scenario name is the thing that jumps out saying "this is a QB map not a scenario" and the description just describes the map. Take Tiny Meet QS 005.btt as an example: http://www.combatmission.lesliesoftware.com/FortressItaly/Scenarios/Tiny Meet QS 005.html If you were to tweak the title to start with your Quick Scenario tag line such as "Quick Scenario - Tiny Meet 005" and put a line like "This scenario is essentially a blind quick battle made from a qb map, reasonable forces, assigned to an AI orders groups". Then it would be clearer. But either way these are a really good idea and I think, based on their download rates, they are fairly popular. Well done.
