  1. I always thought that too.....Then I bought CM:A. I have kits of T-55s & BTRs now, on top of maybe two thousand WWI & WWII subjects.....I blame the Russians!
  2. No they burned alright, it's just that the propensity of the Sherman for bursting into flames when hit has been exaggerated by circumstances. IIRC my anecdotal recollection is based on this excellent book: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tank-Normandy-Cassell-Military-Paperbacks/dp/0304366404
  3. Nothing else comes close.....IMHO. Why so narrow a scope, I reckon the engine could do mid 1930s to late 2020s as it stands.....If BF write 'em, I'll buy 'em.
  4. I recall an anecdote of a British Army Chaplain during WWII who appointed himself to recover all the bodies of tank crewmen within his regiment, to paraphrase his comment "The crews had quite enough to cope with learning what it was to live in a tank."
  5. Designers often make their campaign scenarios available as stand-alones at a later date, I believe there are apps that allow one to extract the campaign scenarios oneself, but I've not tried them personally.
  6. You just think you've got it right and they update it, or say they will and then don't, or they do update it but in a completely different way to how they said they would.....It's much the same whether you are modelling them with plastic or pixels, I guess.
  7. I certainly hope not.....I thought it was done & dusted when I posted it the first time, then I checked it again and discovered I'd had a total brain-spazz with the VPs! Assuming you don't discover any horrible issues with 'The Heist' I'm going to try to get the first and third scenarios together for 'Abdul Gul's War' (The Blue One), the third AI plan & some broad AI re-tweaking for 'Going Soviet: Action & Reaction' (The Red One) and also hone my CM:SF Mosul scenario 'The Hornet's Nest' down to something a bit closer to the actual situation on the ground at the time. Combatintman's been looking at it for me and I'm awaiting his feedback (after he's had a chance to look at what I've done in the editor) before deciding exactly how to proceed with it. Oh that and watch the Russian Grand Prix, live for once!
  8. Seems like part of the story is missing.....Probably just me.
  9. Did you download the corrected version, I had royally screwed up the VPs in the first one!
  10. T-80 you say? Tell us of these T-80s of which you speak. Fair play on the Abrams thing Ian, I'm kind of teasing really, but those damned things really do seem to be hard as nails, perhaps a little harder than they should be.....It hasn't prevented me from buying and to a lesser extent playing the game and everything released for it.
  11. OK, let's try that again, buildings fixed, VPs checked: https://www.dropbox.com/s/j1f7a1iva28frfj/[Test] The Heist.btt?dl=0
  12. Kind of flew over my head too.....Did I miss something?
  13. Dammit, discovered I screwed the VPs! Typically I discovered it just after the edit option expired, knew I should have tested it again before posting!
  14. I fixed the buildings (on all four versions of the map), and made it clear that Blue is the side to choose: Corrected & amended version is here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/m3m57q8jyx8hbys/[Test] The Heist.btt?dl=0
  15. You are Mujahideen, targeting the Communists dude.....I'd have thought it was kind of obvious, but duly noted! Don't worry though, it's a random deployment scenario, so you've learned absolutely nothing of significance, all those units automatically redeploy when you click Go (when playing as Blue). My own on-going testing has found more broken buildings (unwanted internal windows, nothing critical), but I was sure I'd fixed at least one of them before.....They will be fixed when I've finished my current test. I'm pulling the d/l link for now and will put another up when the buildings are fixed.
  16. Cheers Erwin, hope you get on better with this one than with 'Action & Reaction'. If you do happen to play it, I'd greatly value a screenshot of the two-page summary of your outcome, the VP balancing was kind of tricky with this one, I've had to use a Bonus (which I dislike intensely), I'm just hoping I got it all close to right.
  17. 'The Heist' is tentatively ready for testing: https://www.dropbox.com/s/917eywynvrz10hq/[Test] The Heist.btt?dl=0 Make sure you look at the third page of the briefing with my 'Designer's Notes'.
  18. Have to admit bombing bridges as a concept is probably better suited to IL-2 than to CM, but if I were adding it to a scenario that might be my approach. Perhaps a map where a bridge presents the only (occasionally buggy) route for vehicles, but where infantry have other options (I'm thinking minor bridges in the Falaise Pocket, that sort of thing). Maybe the bridge-bug could be turned to the game's advantage depending on the vehicles weight: http://missing-lynx.com/gallery/dio/inderfalle_rdoepp.html
  19. I don't recall what type it was, but it must have got supressed early on and I'd discounted it as a target. The Leopard must have been sat side/rear on to it for best part of a quarter-hour before it suddenly popped up and loosed off a missile (which makes it an AT-4 as Saggers can't fire at targets under 500m and I was a lot closer than that) which missed fortunately.....I play real-time so it didn't get to launch another.
  20. The air-strikes are a lot less precise in this aren't they.....Hinds and Su-25s are still fairly respectable, but low experience Sukhois seem to be lucky to put the weapon in the right city block!
