  1. They were older T-90s as seen in that video: & also some T-90As The CM:BS T-90A would be about right for the latter, if BF were to decide to update the game.
  2. Not the right type.....Syria actually has a very few T-90 & T-90A, the game only offers the T-90SA (which Syria doesn't have, but which Iraq (kind of) does). The tank in the video is a T-90, which makes it pretty old and possibly actually less capable than the current Iraqi T-90S:
  3. So does the Syrian T-90 come with a time machine? Because it would need one to get back to 2008. I'm not saying I don't agree with some of your points, but you are falling into the usual trap (we've all done it) of comparing Syria in 2014-19 with the game's attempt to model the Syrian TOE of a decade earlier.
  4. Try 'Tankovyi Desant' as the Soviets.....It's a great little scuffle. PS - Don't be scared of the difficulty settings, if you are new, go straight to 'Iron Mode', it's actually no more difficult and you will learn how the game really works (as opposed to how you might think it works) a lot faster.
  5. Dude.....I asked exactly the same question, someone answered it for me. Welcome to 'the game within the game'.
  6. Just create a new scenario in the editor, go to briefing and click export.....Then tell it where to save the file. You can then fill it in, re-save it under an appropriate new name and import it back into your scenario. HTH
  7. Yes.....Yes you can! I'm being a bit of a purist there, TBH with careful force selection things can be made to look pretty convincing (I now understand why you re-skinned Combatants that way too, having already done the Fighters).....It's all about the RPGs for the 'Early Period' isn't it? Nice move.
  8. You can filter your scenario list by size (ascending or descending), there's a dropdown menu under the list.....Try a few small or tiny battles. HTH
  9. I see a profitable opportunity for some cooperation with China right there.
  10. Those are Fighters (and/or Combatants) mate: Told you, you needed to talk to him.
  11. Firstly, we can't really do Vietnam.....As you can see from @37mm's video, we can get something that looks superficially similar, but technology has moved on and none of the forces available in the base game are ideal. However, we (or rather @37mm) can swap weapon models and textures.....Your men will appear to wear US style helmets and use many US weapons, but they are actually still using the default weapon underneath, it's all purely visual. Here are some of the units in the current iteration of the mod: BHSFB Special Forces.....The best of the best: "Ki-Rin" Battalion Bong-Hai Royal Guard.....The personal guard of the (extensive) royal family: Bong-Hai 3rd Cavalry Brigade (also available in motorised & air cavalry form).....Best of the regulars: As you can see, they appear to have all manner of interesting guns (& some interesting vehicles too).....But if you check the ammo panel you'll notice they are oddly chambered! PS - My personal Bong-Hai is set in the very late eighties to early nineties.....But that doesn't mean yours has to be:
  12. Into the ocean? I've heard of drownings in flooded areas inland, but wasn't aware of drops into the ocean.....Mechanical faults perhaps?
  13. With proud thanksgiving, a mother for her children, England mourns for her dead across the sea. Flesh of her flesh they were, spirit of her spirit, Fallen in the cause of the free. Solemn the drums thrill: Death august and royal Sings sorrow up into immortal spheres. There is music in the midst of desolation And a glory that shines upon our tears. They went with songs to the battle, they were young, Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow. They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted, They fell with their faces to the foe. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them. They mingle not with their laughing comrades again; They sit no more at familiar tables of home; They have no lot in our labour of the day-time; They sleep beyond England's foam. But where our desires are and our hopes profound, Felt as a well-spring that is hidden from sight, To the innermost heart of their own land they are known As the stars are known to the Night; As the stars that shall be bright when we are dust, Moving in marches upon the heavenly plain, As the stars that are starry in the time of our darkness, To the end, to the end, they remain.
  14. They can. They can do it in CM:SF2 too! While testing Coup I drove a vehicle past a building with no windows on that side and a tall wall between us and it, but still received small arms fire from the (very competent) US team inside! I believe @MOS:96B2P saw it take place.
  15. Cool.....Seems like we may be more numerous than single digits after all.
  16. I wouldn't move so far TBH.....I like about two to three seconds travel time from hard cover (ideally with some infantry sat in or on it), then a fifteen second target with a ten second pause, so they're still shooting as they roll back into cover (I've had BMP-3Ms locate and defeat several Javelin teams in an urban environment using these tactics). FWIW
  17. And therein lies the rub, I guess. I don't have any choice but to accept it, but that doesn't mean I have to agree that the current implementation is the optimum. I didn't actually reopen the discussion if you recall, merely provided some 'subtitles for the hard of thinking', again. Sorry, I should have put an emoticon at the end of the sentence to which you are responding.....It would have been this one: If there were a more specific 'ironic wink', I'd have used that instead.
  18. Developing decent counter-Javelin tactics is a core skill for any aspiring Red commander IMHO.....One just can't leave AFVs in overwatch when that facing that system. I've taken to parking AFVs up behind buildings or dense trees (or even better both) and working in close cooperation with an infantry team, popping out to fire for ten seconds at a time and not a second more!
  19. That's not ranting.....That's the by product of spending far too long building things, only to find that they don't work as intended for reasons that, from my perspective, utterly defy all logic. And with one minor modification it could work just as well for other things too, without detriment to its 'intended purpose'.
  20. No one asked BFC to change the game into anything, we're happily doing that ourselves.....I just asked them to consider a fairly logical (but perhaps not technically feasible) alternative way of implementing one thing (that is implemented in a slightly dubious fashion at present IMHO. So if you are done ranting, would you kindly clear off.....Go read your dictionary some more, or do what ever else makes you happy.
