  1. The AI is much better in this regard in bridge WeGo.
  2. When I deployed to Iraq, we were told to throw a hand grenade in the engine compartment of our hummers and supply trucks if we had to abandon them on a convoy march. It's just one of those things militaries have pretty much always done.
  3. Ah, so here's another one I've been looking at: Warrant Officer Class III. According to what I found in my research, this rank was short-lived: ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Platoon_Sergeant_Major ) If that's really the case, then why did BF bother depicting it for a game set in 1944?
  4. Good point. I also noticed from the manual that U.S. Army rank of Private is not listed, but they do show up in the game.
  5. I've been checking around, and so far I've yet to see a British Private depicted in the game. Are you sure they are there?
  6. Agreed. After using Aris's vehicle mods for a while, I realized they didn't match my taste, and so I went back to the stock vehicle skins. Most of the stock skins are really good - of which I rate the Shermans the best.
  7. The SS Pioneer Recon units have an HQ team with a radio. Very handy when needing to neutralize spotted enemy positions.
  8. Is that the case with weapon sounds as well? I tried doing a couple of weapon sounds, but they came out sounding dreadfully wrong.
  9. When I choose the American side for the CW Base and CW German Dealership scenario, all I see is a bunker. Is this right?
  10. 7.92 Kurz ammo in German trucks and Kubelwagens. This is going to be even more important as the game moves into late 1944 and early 1945.
  11. I would say that (and this dates back to CMSF) the shadows are average, but not great. This is especially true with shadows as they are cast on vehicles.
  12. I'm after accuracy and fidelity. For me, that means of course things like proper bullet physics, armor penetration models, AI, etc. But it also means (in the context of this thread) good-looking, reasonably accurate uniforms and vehicle models. I know BFC isn't one to take this approach, but saying that they should "concentrate on the big stuff" implies that the developers shouldn't place as high of a priority on textures, because the modders will be along shortly to fix any problems. Like I said, I'm glad BFC doesn't take that approach. Everyone of course has their opinions on what makes for good textures, but IMO with some very small exceptions the stock CMBM are excellent.
  13. Sounds good, thanks! Having the uniform's rank insignia match the rank of the soldier is a small detail as you say, but it's one of those little details that makes the game look all that better.
  14. Now it makes sense. Thanks! (Still, though, it looks strange seeing so many of the panzer pioneers with officer insignia on their uniforms).
  15. Is that the case with both the Waffen SS and German Army units? That's what I was pointing out recently in another thread.
  16. Already done. Sorry, I'm not going to do that.
  17. The wavy distortion with plowed fields is also present with ATI cards. Looks very annoying, for sure.
  18. akd, I see what is going on with the Waffen SS pioneer sections now: they're wearing the assault gun uniform textures, which of course have a mix of officer ranks on them. I assume they should be wearing the standard infantry camo uniform instead?
  19. Although I do not own a Lee-Enfield (yet), I can attest to the time/effort needed to cock and de-cock the bolt on the K98. Even the M91/30, with its straight bolt handle, is a bit faster than a Mauser.
