  1. we-go iron are you asking how to create or the impact of difficulty settings? Basic - Supplies from Ammo Dumps are automatically distributed among troops. Veteran - Supplies from Ammo Dumps are automatically distributed among troops. Warrior - Supplies from Ammo Dumps are automatically distributed among troops. Elite and Iron you need to go get your stuff
  2. Not really, I find they tend to show their true colors all by themselves. I do try and inject a little perspective, but sometimes folks get so wrapped up in their rant they can't see anything but their own rage.
  3. it depends on the campaign. The designer can chose to have a core force or not and they can choose to have the core force only for certain battles. I think JonS did a MG campaign where there were a series of unrelated battles to reflect a day in the campaign across many fronts. The manual is actually very good at describing how to create a campaign and how a core force can be used if you so choose. (starts on page 108). You could for example have 3 consecutive battles each with an element of the core force and then have the 4th battle be the entire core force (minus losses etc). There is no rule about when or how to use them.
  4. it does not "upgrade". I can give a bit of info as I am playing with the process now and this is what I think I have figured out so far. You create a scenario that is essentially just a ToE. You build your core force in that. When you purchase the items CM assigns them a numerical value that allows it to track them. This is true for all units whether in a scenario or a campaign. You then create a regular scenario and you import the units from the ToE scenario. You edit whatever units you want out of the ToE for that particular battle and add any non core units in you want. When you compile the scenario, CM will now track the state of those core units from battle to battle. The designer can select for units to refit and replenish or not for each battle. They do not get better experience or other such benefits. CM generally assumes truly becoming a better unit isn't something that happens as a result of having some one off experience, but a combination of experience and training etc over a longer term so it is pretty much out of the scope of a CM campaign.
  5. all of the above, I really like CMBS, but I'll be much more excited to see this. (I only say that as BF hasn't declared any timeline for CMSF 2).
  6. well get your men off those horses and into some armored vehicles, what do you think this is, the Crimean war or something?
  7. I think the Polish government has already paid off BF NOT to include an expansion into Polish territory. Negotiations are still underway with Belarus.
  8. wait, does that make him a d**khead? Not that there is anything wrong with that.
  9. Good lord what a pathetic ill informed rant. I take away only one thing from this Any idea to have this community more involved in the game development process is fundamentally flawed in that it does not take into account the immaturity and ignorance of this community for even trivial hiccups in process.
  10. Yes, yes. You *wear* the handle, *be* the handle, you *are* the handle!
  11. I swear the denizens of this place could screw up a wet dream.
  12. pretty good summation Regarding precision fires. Mortars are not as accurate. I think even Paladin may have been toned down a little. Still, they can make life very miserable.
  13. why are you posting, you have an AAR get to it Lt Col!! Sir!!
  14. oh jeez man, nice going. Lucky for him those seem more the pray and spray style insurgent.
  15. You can't just take your average pen laser you freak the cat out with. Modern systems know by frequency etc what is probably lasing them. Distance however is gonna be an issue as I doubt it knows whether the laser is 100m away or a 1000m away. The issue is survival, you have a split second to react or possibly be dead and yes modern systems do function this way. It isn't about army doctrine per se, it is a simple equation, you have at best a few seconds to enact countermeasures. You do not have time to think out what you maybe should do. This game is a big learning curve over ww 2 CM games. Even over CMSF.
  16. LOL well by tomorrow you'll have the game and then we'll all be wondering, where the heck did Capt Toleran go? It is worth the wait, CMBS is really something totally different.
  17. I referred to it as herding rabbits. It takes some getting used to and the thing to remember is that activity is what is keeping them alive despite your commands. CMBS is a truly deadly unforgiving environment. It has been in testing a long time and I still feel like I have a long upward curve to learn.
  18. You won't I think really see anything, you'll note it's activity via the hit text. I doubt they would do an animation simply because it is too damn fast.
  19. Okay this is my 3rd post for you posting, I;l catch up to you sooner or later - open a ticket. There may or may not be an issue. I don't have a MAC or I'd try to help. There are MAC beta testers and I don't know of an issue with the installer. Open a ticket, it is your best/fastest route.
  20. They actually don't make it, it is a service. Whether the service is good, or the distribution before announcement is the issue I can't speak to.
  21. so here is the deal - and I am not quoting to not single anyone out, this is just a general perspective 1. BF has told pre orders that they are getting early access and they should not announce it as it simply causes a flood on the servers (this goes back a long way before their current service) 2. The forum goes nuts with F5 monkeys refreshing as if having the game today versus tomorrow is somehow going to fundamentally change our lives 3. BF has a cloud service that takes time for the installer to be distributed to the cloud servic e to make the cloud actually function as intended. 4. The pre orders that get the email immediately announce they are downloading 5 the non pre orders start complaining about how their lives are being ruined and they should have the game now!!! 6. Chris announces fine, they are opening it up 7. Everyone starts downloading and as was probably predictable it causes issues. 8 It is BFs fault for announcing late 9. It is BF's fault for announcing early C'mon guys, lighten up and chill a little bit. The game is released, you'll be playing it soon enough and yeah you are damn funny to listen to.
  22. Sorry but does anyone else appreciate the humor of "give it to us now! give it to us now!" followed by "Oh damn this download speed sucks" Are we there yet?
  23. Huh, what a coincidence. Chris was just telling me he was waiting for some guy to finish purchasing MG before he hit the button to release CMBS.
