  1. I have not seen an announcement for CMFI being upgraded to the new installer platform yet so I do not believe the v3 upgrade is a full installer like CMBN. Easy way to find out is to try downloading and check the file size. I won't be able to check till later today.
  2. Are you sure about that, 9 year old girls are freakin scary killers man.
  3. Not sure how you mean. In We Go deselecting any unit allows you to see all your units same as in RT. What I find the hardest about RT is you just can't see everything that is happening. I might consider it for a small scenario, but anything larger I feel like I am missing half the game (which is probably an understatement.) Which I guess is your point. However I don't see that improving for me with Elite.
  4. that was the plan and hopefully still is.
  5. Whew good thing you didn't ask my favorite color or which species of dung beetle is the prehistoric ancestor of Aussies.
  6. How do I write an essay on something that doesn't exist? Kind of like the essay "dates of Stuka's that did not get a restraining order on him".
  7. Excellent let's see if the squire hunt is as fun as it was last time. Oh gawd speedbump tell there isn't another essay requirement on aussie's and historical precedent in squire selection.
  8. Could start with an internal conflict in Russia with NATO intervening as a humanitarian ceasefire force. Do some Red on Red conflict stuff for the campaign as well. You'd have to be doing alternate history anyway, why not go all out?
  9. Yep roger on that. Your only hope is you have some Urainian buddies bringing their own Tunguska. The stinger can work, but is nowhere near the threat eliminator the TG is.
  10. I have taken on Tunguskas with Apaches with a fair amount of success, but it can be a real hit of miss . My favorite choice is a Javelin. followed by precision rounds guided by a Gray Eagle. With a Company of Bradleys you should have had enough Javelins to wipe out that entire force with plenty to spare. Yeah the Tunguska is pretty darn good.
  11. I am pretty sure it has always been that way at least from CMBN on. The manual has always had Iron described incorrectly and is still wrong in the CMBS version. - Friendly units need to be spotted just like enemy units. If you have a friendly unit not in line of sight or in contact with another friendly unit, then the only way to find this unit is by either re-establishing contact with another friendly unit or by clicking through the chain of command in the game interface, jumping from unit to unit. That has as far as I know never been true. Iron is the only difficulty level that gives me a clean representation of what my units are aware of around them both on their own side and the enemy, I am not just referring to C2 here but also where they think friendly units are they can not see etc.
  12. what difficulty level were you on and did you have a unit selected (not the unit in the building) at the time?
  13. there was a recent post about a technique, but I haven't been able to find a link on it and never tried it so I can't vouch for it. ahh there you go http://community.battlefront.com/topic/117232-how-to-use-maps-from-one-base-game-to-another-base-game/
  14. Many scenarios have multiple plans. Don't take for granted it will play out the same. In my case after a good cry, I'll get a shower, have a beer and sit on the back stoop trying to figure out if my life has any meaning at all.
  15. One of my favorite scenes in Justified. One of the bad guys keeps going on about the 21 foot rule, if within 21 ft he can stab you before you can draw and fire. So he has a showdown with deputy marshal Raylan Givens charges, trips in hole he was digging for his dog and falls on his own knife. Could Raylan have drawn in time? We'll never know because good ole boy Danny Crowe turned out to be dumber than expected.
  16. short answer (sort of) and Pak 40 has it right. Order MG and the 3.0 upgrade, DL the full CMBN installer, not a MG module. The installer is all inclusive, you only need the license for MG. So again order MG, and the 3.0 upgrade The 3.0 DL is the full installer. Use the 3.0 upgrade key to activate the full CMBN installer and then and then the MG module (after you run the installer BEFORE you activate, read the read me text file for instructions.) a) Please find your CMBN Engine Upgrade v3.00 license key. Repeat: you need the v3.00 Upgrade key. Keys from v1.00 or v2.00 won’t work. b- make sure the computer on which you have the game installed has an active online connection to the internet c) click “Enter Serial” in the product activation dialog window d) enter your v3.0 license key into the correct field. e) hit the “Activate” button and wait a few seconds while your license authorizes. f) this activates your base game. If you launch the game now, it is going to show you the base v3.00 install without any modules and without the Vehicle Pack. g) now you need to re-activate any other modules you may have. To do so, you need to use the “Activate Modules” shortcut link to bring up the activation interface again. If you opted to not have it created on your desktop or deleted it from there, then you can find the link in your Start menu under Start > Programs > Battlefront > Combat Mission Battle for Normandy. h) repeat the above procedure for any module you may have. You will need the following license keys: - for the Commonwealth Forces and Market Garden Modules, you need a license key from when you purchased said module, including as part of a bundle (for example, the Big Bundle, CMBN + Commonwealth Bundle, Comonwealth + 3.0 + Market Garden Bundle, and so on.)
  17. I think someone actually did that already though it was a skull not Kilroy.
  18. The last battle just finished up a couple days ago and was a night fight. It felt more like a submarine simulation, I had too few men in the dark in a forest with a Russian armored force with SMG escort pushing for a gap. I sent out multiple AT teams that essentially moved like submarines, going by sound contacts trying to hunt the Russian "Capital ships" (armor, while avoiding "escorts" (SMG teams). The Russian force was a battered but determined group having to make their way past minefields and push forward in the dark. Fascinating and very different battle. End result the Germans were able to maul the Russian armor, but took additional losses they could not afford while the Russians pushed forward a good way towards their goal. We are anxiously awaiting the next chit draw. If you look at post #24 the Blue circle on the top left is the approx position of the Russian breakthrough force. The Germans hold almost everything between the Rail lines. If the Russians win the chit draw, the Germans will likely get pummeled the following morning turn. Lord knows what that is going to mean next for the Germans. Until now it has been a grueling grind of a campaign, once this line collapses I suspect the Germans are gonna face some bruising fights ahead.
  19. still it shouldn't be in there and I think BF is more than a little upset at having missed it. It wasn't intentional, but it is unfortunate. Calm everyone, let's not let this get out of control. Good catch Buzzcut
  20. it would be nice if there was a stance option as I definitely don't want my troops kneeling in fields all the time, perhaps hide would make them go prone and not hiding would mean kneel.
