  1. Put a ticket in to the helpdesk, they may be able to help you on that.
  2. I am not sure but I suspect it would face different issues with the ToE organization, C&C etc. Don't know though, perhaps down the road a bit.
  3. I have found some odd items occasionally impacting what I thought should happen. Examples A building with a wall adjacent affecting what my breach team actually blew up or creating a constricting item for movement A flavor item too close to the breach point that created a movement conflict elevation differences
  4. Personally I have a different attitude. I don't think in the time span of my average CM game that my troops could reliably clear a space of all mines in an 8 meter square space. I just avoid them if at all possible and if I can't I expect casualties. Just my own view. Not really worth the lint in my pocket.
  5. Exactly. The command is merge squad not squads. It consolidates a squad into fewer teams in the event of losses so you don't have a squad that has 3 guys but still occupies 3 action squares because those 3 guys are each the sole survivor of their team.
  6. oh duh, that would explain the posting of this in Black Sea thread, sorry - long day The only unit badge I have seen modded is for Task Force Spartan Resolve.
  7. I had thought this existed already, lemme check what I have Yep I have uniform patches also Mord's unit portraits includes the 1st. Let me see if I can figure out where the 1st ID uniform came from so the creator gets credit Here you go - EZ's uniforms with MJkerner patches. http://cmmodsiii.greenasjade.net/?p=2205
  8. before bothering getting into a debate about the Leo 2, one might want to consider who is reporting this. Even according to the these guys say the losses are unconfirmed. Just click on the link to source and it says it right there. No need to even google around anywhere else. The site has a reputation as a Russian front source. i.e. not particularly reputable. Lots of other statements floating around this thread without corroboration.
  9. because we suck. Okay maybe not all of us, but I suck. Unfortunately we only caught a s**tload ton of things and missed a couple.
  10. This is one of the reasons cited I think is allowing it would disrupt the integrity of the game. So the answer is no. Players will not be able to insert new vehicles etc. You can as IanL said re-skin them, but that is it. I do not expect to ever see that stance change so no not a cash cow, just no.
  11. What do you mean by personalized? The link given above is for the modding community items which are free. Might want to read around the forum for different comments about BF strategy etc before worrying about cash cow plans. If you are expecting pay for play features or items this definitely isn't in that genre.
  12. Your splash screen should say Version 2.0 Game engine 4 It is the 1st upgrade to CMFB and it gets it to engine 4.0. It was released under engine 3.0. It gets confusing as the game version and the engine version are independent. You are up to date.
  13. I vote yea to this as one of a long line of pissbucket bearers... or well maybe just a couple. As to my Avatar there are plenty of other stupidly annoying ones- why most of them on this page, but alas none LESS annoying than mine. What is there not to like about a Putin/Alfred E Neuman pic with a turd on it's head? What me worry? Anyway to top off a sh***y week, I just found out one of my closest friends and the officiant for my wedding has terminal cancer. Any more crappy news we can start this year off with?
  14. It not only does what Rinaldi just posted above but you can also be more specific. For example you have an enemy tank on a street and want to take it out. You split off an AT team, send them to the side of the building and give a face command towards the vehicle. They will focus on that corner of the building increasing your odds the guy with the AT weapon will actually get into position for the shot.
  15. I can't speak for anyone else, but an updated Shock Force is the title I am most looking forward to in BF's repertoire.
  16. not sure how you managed that, but yeah you still need that one.
  17. Mooooorrrrrrrrdddddddd I call out to you in the name of all that is holy! Come forth and provide your divine inspiration in the form of Unit portraits, I beseech thee. Okay The official call has gone out and ritual bell ringing begun. Let's see if this works.
  18. I typically do not copy folders. I'll usually just run the installer and point it to a different location (I keep copies of the full installer so it doesn't take more than a couple minutes - keep in mind during testing I may run the installers a dozen times so I am pretty used to it.) For CMBN your saves will go to the specific games file folder for that install. For everything else it will go to the shared documents folder so name your saves in a way that you'll know. Your v4 version will be able to open anything, the v3 version will not see the v4 saves.
  19. I'd give the FB demo a go. If you still have issues try opening a ticket to the helpdesk. It could be something really simple is holding up your ability to enjoy the game. It is definitely a CPU bound game, but regardless that shouldn't stop you. Keep in mind the demos are not often updated and may not reflect the latest - hence my request to try the CMFB demo, I believe it is a lot newer.
  20. Just a quick note. I appreciate all the files sent. I don't think I need more samples for the team cohesion issue. I have some pretty good ones demonstrating the behavior. If I get asked for more I'll come back here and request em. Thanks to all you who sent them, very helpful.
  21. doh Bletchley already answered. Regarding other titles like CMFI etc, I do the same for them as well. It works very similarly to CMBN, you just have a shared documents folder where all your game files are kept. I actually prefer the directory format of the later games, it offers a little more flexibility.
  22. two things on this whole thread 1 it is funny to watch the disparity in what everyone wants - it becomes obvious pretty quick that BF will never make even most of us happy all the time. That they make most of us happy most of the time is pretty darn good. 2. no one seems to ask what BF wants - the assumption is they want a bigger audience and more money. I am not sure that is a valid statement unless you include that it adds no additional "business" overhead. Steve, Charles and Co. get to make a game they really enjoy in an environment that allows them to have a lot more control over their lives (except when they decide to release a major update the day before Christmas ). There is a lot to be said for that. It is worth stopping a moment and considering that BF LIKES their current size user base and the commensurate work it requires. I don't know that is true, but I definitely understand that money should never be your first priority in what you do for a living - liking what you do is a lot more important as long as the money is sufficient.
  23. Nobody here is speaking for BF If Steve feels like jumping into this he can voice their opinion, but we have gone down this road before. BF is keenly aware of their market - nobody stays in any business for 25 years while being oblivious to their base.
