Because CM wasn't designed to play the Dirty Dozen. It was designed as a Company level tactical combat simulation. That you want to play the Dirty Dozen is nice, but from the devs point of view irrelevant. Don't get me wrong. There are things I'd like to make more specific too, like knowing all my pixeltruppen's names from the get go. That has been politely declined. Sometimes you just have to accept the game as designed and stop trying to make it what it wasn't designed to do.... and yeah I know that answer sucks sometimes. I'd still like to see MOUT formations in US units in CMBS.... I don't think I will.

more than likely your install is flawed. The battles are there, just not in the correct location for the game to see them. Downloading it won't fix it, wait till you talk with support on the installation.

I just finished a tough fought battle in CMBN where I was the German defender and never saw any indication of behavior like this. If there is an issue then we'll need to dig a bit as it isn't consistent and we would absolutely need save files. Without those we might as well just close the thread. Videos and screenshots won't be accepted for suggesting fixes to the TAC AI. As it is a pbem I assume those should be easily obtainable.

definitely not an issue of friendly map edge. The settings for that one are good. Also no shell holes to induce that behavior as happened sometimes prior with 4.0 before patch.

Just unclear how brittle the ANA is. This thread is only a week old. That is nowhere near enough time to collect and examine data particularly for TAC AI issues. You should certainly do whatever feels right for you playing the game, but I would certainly not make any conclusions on cause and effect here. Making the game "unplayable' seems a bit of an overstatement yet that is a subjective evaluation. If you feel it is unplayable, then it is. What I would suggest is rather than delete completely is to do an additional install so you can continue to participate in testing. As you seem to be able to reliably duplicate the issue, your assistance in validating items could be really helpful.

I have a CMBN pbem on it's 21st file turn with someone else who just patched up so it isn't uniform. Has to be something specific. Might be helpful if everyone who is having an issue post their machine specs. Also post on the battle itself - is it generated from a QB or a scenario, if scenario is it stock or one created?
