37mm got a reaction from ncc1701e in Shock Force 2 Unofficial Screenshot And Video Thread
This past month (on & off) I've been playing an old CMSF scenario (I believe by @nuzrak)...
... I found it to be a nice little fight.

37mm reacted to SeinfeldRules in Map Making Tip - Contour Lines - Avoiding spikes and pits
Proper use of the game's elevation tools will make or break the look of a map. It probably the number one thing that can ruin a map for me (right alongside large blocks of the same tree model in one place).
I'm a big fan of the adjust tool - set the delta to one and alternate between clicking and shift-clicking to add elevation differences between your contour lines. Adds realistic undulations that can help break up LOS and prevents the stair-step effect you can sometimes get with continuous contour lines.
Also, if you set the adjust tool to 0, you can "lock" the height of a tile... if you want to create a stream bed in the side of a hill, lock the height on both sides of the area where you want the stream bed to be, then go back and shift click with the adjust tool (but this time set at 1) to lower the terrain of the stream... if you do it right, you can create a realistic steam that follows the slope of the hill. Works on roads too! You can create a sunken effect (like a dirt track) or elevated effect (such as a graded paved road), which you'll find on almost every road in the real world.

I started this map a couple of years ago, it's basically finished now...
... just need to create a small (but devious) scenario for it.

Playing around with deep marsh tiles is already part of H&E's [hotlz] tag (our 'helicopter landings' are trapped in their lz's by a 3x3 grid of deep marsh so that nobody else can get to the central exit objective).
It is indeed possible with an alpha'ed out marsh reeds doodad (this will not effect normal marshes as they use the marsh grass doodad*).
Here is an [ntc] version I just rustled up...
This is a region of heavy rocks bordered by a deep marsh...
Up close, you can see that the impassable swamp is missing its rock doodads...
*Which we also took advantage of to create our rice paddies.

37mm got a reaction from Peregrine in Initial 'All in One' modpack
One of my ongoing side projects (aimed, mostly, at the new influx of Steam Players) is to host an 'All in One' for every CM game here.
This is my initial effort for RT & its primary feature is a large collection of weathered vehicle mods (by @kohlenklau, @umlaut & @Aristoteles ) renamed & tagged so that they now work with F&R. It also features terrain mods by @SeinfeldRules, UI mods by @rocketman, @Marco Bergman & @Volksgrenadier, Infantry mods by @EZ, @Tashtego & @Ithikial_AU, loading screens by @umlaut, building mods by @Kieme(ITA) & @Tanks a Lot as well as the ME effects package, ME soundscape & (subdued & fixed) superpack voices by @ironsturm plus many more others.
I know a lot of people had issues with their old RT mods & the new Fire & Rubble module so hopefully this modpack will be of some interest to them.
Here's a taster of some of what you can expect...
Here's the modpack link...

37mm got a reaction from DougPhresh in 2022, the Year In Preview!
If I understand the Black Sea storyline correctly the war was a short, sharp thing which ends in a few months... a little bit like the Shock Force hypothetical war.
BFC doesn't do post-war occupation & resistance stuff so I doubt we'll get official modern snowscapes... at least til CMCW's first module.
It should be noted that the CMBS scenario editor does allow freezing temperatures so (when combined with wet or damp or muddy ground conditions) is either particularly well suited for unofficial snow mods OR BFC plan to prove me wrong.

37mm reacted to rtdood in New Campaign Released: First into Antwerp
Hi all,
Just wanted to formally announce my next campaign release titled 'First into Antwerp'. Ironically this was actually the first campaign I designed but the second I've released.
Command the British 3rd Royal Tank Regiment and the 4th Battalion Kings Shropshire Light Infantry as they advance from Boom to capture the port city of Antwerp, Belgium, and later attempt to establish a bridgehead over the Albert Canal.
This campaign consists of 8 battles and is historical. To be played as PLAYER vs AXIS AI.
Be aware in order to play this campaign you MUST have both Commonwealth and Market Garden Modules.
Battle sizes are varied. It is strongly recommended that the player reads the README in the attached zip-file.
The Zipfile will contain the following:
2 Campaign folders.
1 Campaign file within each folder.
49 page Campaign Design booklet including Campaign Progression Tables and Order of Battle. (You know, for some 'light' reading )
Campaign has been tested and should be compatible with patch 4.03.
Total battle duration of the campaign totals roughly 8 hours.

Thanks for the giant campaign (and single player scenario options)... from what I can tell, you've single handedly doubled the user made content for CMFB!
Also, should mention, love the puns... "Bullingen China Shop" is pure genius!
