  1. Did Emrys just compare his first CMBO experience with his first sexual experience? God help us all.
  2. Raz, you can just use the one install for both versions. To backup 1.0 just rename the CMBN executable or copy/paste it out. Then install patch. If you wanna go back to 1.0 then just use the original exe and delete/move the Normandy v101.brz out of your data folder. I've been doing this for months now with no problems.
  3. With the patch being kicked out today I figure a bump is in order for this. Perhaps such a popular and useful program deserves a sticky.
  4. FRAPS IMO is the way to go, since odds are someday soon you will want to make a video too. It's very easy to use. You don't need to keep it running in the background constantly. Just play and whenever you need to take a screenshot just alt-tab out, turn it on, alt-tab back in, and snap away. The default key for screenshots is in fact the prt scr key.
  5. All saves from the plotting movements phase or the send and receive files, i.e. the final save after clicking the go button. But yeah you can have two installs on one PC if you prefer.
  6. True, but everybody loves them. The very first thing I do with a new module or game is to oogle over the new models/vehicles. Simply beautiful!
  7. I do recall hearing the West front games don't have to be complete before the East Front games. Since there are other people working on CMx2 besides their core team.
  8. Also you can click on the command contact icons to go up the chain of command. Just click either the radio, eye, or shout icons in the units display. Oh and welcome back!
  9. There is a period based unit icon mod from Bill Hardenberger here: http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=1142 But I thought you were referring to the contact "question mark" icons. In which case there is no way to distinguish AFVs from infantry. I wish there was. There's just one kind of a contact icon. But there is a mod for German and Allied contacts here from DeutschRitter: http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=1111
  10. I think it's displayed in the briefing along with all other QB parameters.
  11. I found this thread from Juju's new interface mod thread. This just get's better and better, Tanks a lot is back too. A.k.a. Master Blaster of building mods. Greatly looking forward to your work as well.
  12. Well, well, well, haven't been around the last few months, mostly due to a fortunate nod to test for BF. So it's great to see Juju is back. For all you newer folks, as you can now see his work, he's one the best from the old CMx1 days. His mods are INSTA-downloads! I'm out of town at the moment, but looking forward to trying this mod out when I get back. Once again, thanks!
  13. Anybody know if CMBN will be instituted into the classic scenario sites? http://www.the-proving-grounds.com/index.html http://www.the-scenario-depot.com/
  14. You guys should have seen it several versions back, the crew would swing the turret around to use the 50 cal far too often. Not good when there's enemy tanks lurking around. Made worse with the slow traverse of the turret. I had a few hair pulling occasions with the turret facing the opposite direction when confronted by an enemy tank. Maybe there should be a light target order available for the M10. Obviously for times when the player wants to manually use the 50 cal. But as for the TacAI attempting to choose when to, I for one am very happy it doesn't. Reply to Smacks first post, there is no coax MG on the M10, just the main gun and rear facing 50.
  15. Yeah you want a shortcut link to your Outgoing and Incoming email folders. That way all you gotta do is click and drag your friends files. Makes the transfer of files much quicker and easier. This method actually moves the file, so no manually deleting. Also you could add these shortcuts to your right-click Send-to menu. But this method just copies the files, so you'll have to manually delete them. Dropbox is great, makes handling the large size files of CMx2 much easier, since most ISPs enforce file size limits. For those interested, here ya go: https://www.dropbox.com/
  16. I think it says this in the manual, not sure though. But I do think minefields need to be more visibly noticeable. As it is now, I sometimes completely miss that my troops are even in a minefield. I figure the losses they're taking are from enemy fire. Maybe give minefields their own icon so it's very clear mines have been spotted. Also have the color of the icon indicate the status of the minefield.
  17. A poll for WEGO in TCP/IP is as pointless as a poll on: Who would like to motorboat these? Because obviously the answer will be an overwhelming YES! Oh and for the old farts that don't know what motorboating is.
  18. Your not missing anything, there is no terrain indicator. Reason being is that a single squad can occupy up to, I think, three different tiles. So it's not as cut and dry as in CMx1.
  19. New for CMBN, minefields can in fact be IDed without taking losses from them.
  20. Actually, if memory serves, that happen in 07 prior to the CMSF launch. Besides, we all know that the noobies say that now to steal or gain rank, your no different.
  21. IIRC there was a tweak to decrease the morale of a recently bailed out crew. Maybe it didn't happen or perhaps needs another tweak. I think in general most considered the accuracy of tanks in CMx1 to be slightly too inaccurate. So this is definitely changed since the CMx1 days. I think it will be very evident to returning CMx1 players.
  22. Whoa, missed this thread along with most of the CMBN forums, been busy lately with... well you know Winecape. I think I was in one of the ROWs briefly. I remember playing and losing the first battle to be eliminated. It was a bad start to my CMx1 tourney play. Although I could be confusing it with another tourney, it's been so long I forget. Also made it to the final four of the King of the Hill tourney awhile back. IIRC the Mad Russian ran that big one. Good times! Anyways, if there's still room I'd love to play.
  23. Wow, I haven't posted on the main CMBN forums in a very long time. Time sure does fly by when your having fun!
