  1. I've been able to connect by using the "recently played" tab. Also I've read on the forums you can connect by IP address. The server browser not working is a known bug, details below:
  2. I'm having trouble too, nothing in server list and what does show up are empty servers with the old version. Noticed on their forums it appears there are others with the same problem.
  3. Good to hear. Yeah I think sprinting has been beefed up some, certainly adds to the faster feel. Also for slower paced games, especially with full realism on, stick to Countdown(single life) and the classic Territory game modes . The relaxed realism is more fast paced, especially playing Firefight. We're getting three more maps sometime tonight(-5 EST) details below:
  4. Bit of a long shot, maybe firewall or internet security settings?
  5. Gautrek, apparently using the Steam trading beta can fix this, worth a try anyway. Below is a post from a dev about it, used a quote instead of link since Steam is a commercial link. Good luck with it! Btw, here is the update log:
  6. Yeah I've had some problems as well, make sure your graphics driver control panel is not set to override, especially anti-aliasing. I had to change these to application controlled to restore some missing options, I had no controls or audio, just video options. Also having trouble with the Fallen Fighters map, it crashes a lot. I can play all other maps on Ultra, but on that map my graphics have to be on medium or lower. It runs about half the time on High settings. So you may want to try and avoid that map. But overall, I love it too, feels so much more smoother than RO1, well worth the wait. I even don't mind the relaxed realism servers either, although will eventually settle into the realism servers. Playing Firefight is pretty chaotic, it's a good change of pace from the classic territory mode.
  7. Downloading now... Anybody else pay the extra $10 for the now two weeks early access? I got the Steam 20% off, so was still only $40 for the beta deluxe edition. Hopefully it's not too buggy as it's still beta. I'll report back after some trigger time.
  8. It will have the exact same effect as simply clicking in the direction of the contact. The Face command changes the direction of a unit, not increase spotting ability for a particular tile.
  9. That will just change the direction your unit is facing, it does helps a little to have the possible target head on. Also using the target arc for a particular spot supposedly helps a little. This feature is primarily just for fire control. I don't think it actually makes a unit spot better in the arcs zone. Also remember to click on the enemy unit to see your highlighted friendly units that have actual LOS to it.
  10. Just posted a few minutes ago, some HD gameplay footage. (not shaky cam) Enjoy! http://www.gametrailers.com/video/exclusive-gameplay-red-orchestra/719542? The rumorville over there is hoping and wishing for a Aug. 23rd start for the beta, mostly to coincide with the Stalingrad battle start. Which is tomorrow, so fingers crossed on that.
  11. Technically it's been three months, not four. But perhaps time for our first module bone.
  12. Aristoteles, looks great, nice job! I remember your weathering mods from the old CMBB days, nice to see you back. P.S. You could probably recover your old forum account, ask BF about it.
  13. From the very in-depth fact thread sticky: http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showthread.php?t=48698 There's suppose to be a big media RO2 blitz this month, so I think we may get to see the suppression effect in action soon.
  14. For blazing fast loading speeds you might want to check out getting SSD. Essentially it's like hard drive RAM, whatever is installed on it stays in RAM for very fast access. Your OS boots up much faster and if you got the space(and money), games do too. I haven't tried out SSD yet, I'd be curious if anybody has CMBN installed on a SSD, comparing the loading speeds of the bigger battles.
  15. I've had this problem as well, it's definitely not a UAC issue. I've noticed pausing when the save game box pops up helps some, give it several seconds, then click ok to save. It seems to not happen as much when I do this. It's like the game isn't really ready to save a file yet even though the save game box is there. Also I've noticed this happens sometimes with AI games, not just PBEMs. My rough estimate is about 20% of the time CMBN does not save my game. Nonetheless, this can be extremely annoying.
  16. BLAMO!!! RO2 is now delayed 2 weeks. Hitler is once again absolutely furious about it!
  17. IIRC Gary said eventually there will be a CMBN section at the scenario depot and proving grounds.
  18. You mean there are women out there that play Wargames? I didn't know such a species existed, we need photographic proof. Normally players are pretty competitive for bragging rights, but imagine the motivation if the winner gets oral sex.
  19. Also, the color of the mine sign indicates the lethality of the minefield. IIRC, bright red is most lethal(usually when mines were actually spotted with no detonations), then dark red, then bright yellow, dark yellow, bright green, and then finally dark green.
  20. Ok I moved my AAR files into the CMBN installed path of saved games. I prefer to store them there rather than the Dropbox folder. Thanks for the help.
  21. I'd like a way choose files to add to an ignore list for H2H helper. So they don't appear in the active PBEM list. Since I like to archive older the final AAR PBEM files, usually adding "AAR" to the file name for trips down memory lane. Or is this already possible, might be missing something?
