  1. So LAW's and AT4's are essentially interchangeable - more or less the same effectiveness vs armor, buldings and inf other than range perhaps?? I can't recall all the rockets available to Blue and Red. But, are there any rockets that one would NOT normally take unless for a specific purpose - and what would their specific functions be?
  2. Re the choice of AT rockets available to US (or Red Force for that matter) squads. It's never been clear to me which squad level AT rockets are best for which targets. ie: When there is a choice, which rockets do you load up with and for what purpose? Elucidation appreciated...
  3. maybe they already disabled music? I see the video but no sound.
  4. Looks great (again). Should have my revamped Win 7 machine back in a week and be able to play again. (It has all my CM titles on it as am too lazy to re-install all on my new Win 10 machine.)
  5. It's ok DM. Some people don't get it... One has to remember that a lot of folks here have English as a 2nd language.
  6. I find the AI in CM2 much tougher than CM1. I still play CM2 vs the AI. I stopped enjoying CM1 vs the AI as it became too predictable - ie: one learned to play vs the system. However, I still enjoy playing H2H in CM1 tournys. Someone said that smaller scenarios are better. Maybe in CM2. However, the advantage that CM1 still has over CM2 is the ability to play on 8Kx4K maps with a Regiment of inf plus a Battalion of armor plus dozens of other vehicles on each side. CM1 enables one to play at close to an Operational level in addition to the tactical level that CM2 features so well.
  7. +1 again "All I want is to finally reach my objectives for once, then hit cease fire and see how I did. Currently, with the early enemy total surrender, even many of the most elaborate scenarios with a series of objectives turn into simply "kill the enemies"." This is for the majority who play vs AI. It's unsatisfying and frustrating when "kill the enemy" is the way to win when one has exit objectives that one never gets to reach.
  8. In campaigns, I wonder if KO means it could come back repaired in a later mission.
  9. +1 Hate having a lovingly crafted attack coming together... and the AI quits. In RL that is wonderful. But, in a game, it's awful. Like coitus interruptus.
  10. Can't wait to start up CM2 again and play this. Decided to not re-install CM2 into my new Win 10 computer, but wait for my old Win 7 machine to come back upgraded. So, another week or so...
  11. So hilarious you wonder if it's staged for our PR. Of course it could simply be the ISIS comedy entertainment troupe. I can see it going down well over a campfire BBQ in the desert. "We can be this incompetent and STILL we beat the Iraqis and western interests."
  12. That should probably be the default for "Open Up" rather than an additional command. In CM2, you know the enemy is close.
  13. A distant relative was a Finnish major. I was at his country house and he showed me his attic - it was an arsenal of weapons and explosives. So close to the Russian border, they had to be ready to go at a moment's notice. The Finns are like our spec ops trained in winter combat.
  14. ...And thanks to you, they're now watching all of us lol. er...
  15. I was happy to d/l it as well. Thank you.
  16. After those casualties, the game should transition to the CNN phase where you have to explain why such heavy casualties were suffered and who is to blame. Am glad to see other players take medical attention seriously. However, in RL under fire, is it SOP to flee (to avoid more casualties) and only return to rescue later?
  17. I kept think that in most other countries you'd be arrested and in deep **** for taking those pics. Thank heaven for our freedoms over here.
  18. The question sounds like a discussion of how we'd refight WW1 or WW2. What should be alarming is the hacking expertise being demonstrated by China and Russia. Sure, we can do the same. However, we don't know the eventual effect of all-out cyberwar. What happens if enemies can shut down power to large parts of the country, mess with food distribution, contaminate water supplies, mess with civilian aircraft ability to fly? Am suspicious that Delta's recent complete shut-down could be a warning of things to come. We keep thinking of soldiers fighting soldiers. However, civilian populations are the new front lines. Think Sun Tzu.
  19. In the CM2 campaign game, one can get tanks "return" in terms of the number of tanks a unit make have for the next mission. But, since the game also features "replacement" variables that can be set by the designer am unsure if it's actually the "same" tank.
  20. Nah, Oddball would have had a wind-up record player.
