  1. @JonS Cheers, although looking at the stuff this morning I sense I had too much time on my hands in those days P
  2. I did a whole load of stuff some 15 years ago for a potential HASL module - and have dug all the info out and added it to a dropbox a/c. Some of it might be useful here. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/rd4rrwh8df89eij/AAA5PZ9NHgZywAEgw1AdbYQza?dl=0 P
  3. @JLouis - If you are not aware of it check out http://www.combatmission.fr/ a French language CM site. As Rinaldi says above the choice as to which one to get really comes down to what you think will most interest you. P
  4. Well it works fine for me, and has done for all of the scenarios I've made. Not sure this is a bug rather an issue specific to you as I can't recall anybody else ever citing this as a problem.
  5. @Rastamon I think this should work. First create a new short shortcut to the exe file, then right click on it and go into properties. Then add the -showui at the end of the target location mine looks like this "C:\Program Files (x86)\Battlefront\Combat Mission Fortress Italy\CM Fortress Italy.exe" -showui Click ok, and then left click the shortcut and it should bring up the activation screen. P
  6. No not in a QB. You are up against the vagaries of the QB system, which offers Airborne Infantry only (and so no vehicles), or Mech Inf with the Vickers Jeeps (if you select them). It's just the way it is. P
  7. It works for me, but make sure you have selected Mech Infantry and not infantry only, as that does as it's name suggests and only provides infantry units and no vehicles/ P
  8. OK I'll add 1 quick pro for each also On-Map - on large maps the mortar units can move forward to ensure targets remain in range. Off-Map - the units are impervious to any kind of attack P
  9. Unless I'm misunderstanding what you are meaning this is already in, and has been for a while To copy a Plan, select the Plan that you desire to be copied, and press CTRL-C to copy it. Nothing will happen visually, but the plan has been copied. Next, select another Plan that you wish to overwrite, and press CTRL-V. A window asking for confirmation will appear. Select OK to copy the Plan. Copying Plans is very useful when you want to just use variations of a single Plan, without having to tediously recreate all of the waypoints for the AI Groups.
  10. I don't recall there being any hexes in CMBB ?

  12. @AleksandrStefan The issue of incorrect names is often due to missing a patch when installing the game. It might be worth trying to install things again. P
  13. I think he might have meant BAOR - British Army of the Rhine. I loved my time in Germany with the Army and never ceased to be amazed with what the locals put up with. Major exercises were a sight to see with all kinds of kit bashing up the countryside. These were not on training areas, but the public countryside. The war had to stop at weekends though ! As I remember it this was about 7.00 am in the morning in some random village. Challenger II parked outside someones house ! P
  14. Hell is for Heroes or Battleground maybe ? P
  15. The best bit was watching it drive up there, across the top and then down the other side. Needless to say this was from an early Beta when the large bridges were first introduced and just because I love this one P
  16. Hello guys! I try to create an overlay for a map I want to make, it doesn't work. I have the correct file-name (Special Editor Overlay) and the correct file-format (.bmp). Still, it appears only as black in the editor.

Send me the file to petewenman@btinternet.com and I'll see if I can get it to work

  17. While I'd love to take the credit I only provided the main map and two of the missions, and so several others were involved - ChrisND, JonS, Nikmond and Pnzrldr I believe P
  18. The Battleground series are good for CM level reference, and I used a good number when creating scenarios They offer one on Anzio http://www.pen-and-sword.co.uk/Anzio-Paperback/p/1302 P
  19. I remember a stoppage when we were first issued the SA-80, I think it was at Copehill Down, but were certainly only firing blanks regardless. Working parts were jammed forward. My first attempt to clear it saw me gashing my thumb and I still have the scar. To clear the stoppage I ended up having to put the butt on the ground with the barrel pointing skywards and stomp on the cocking handle with my foot. Not sure what the armorer would have said, but it did the trick. P
  20. @nathan1776 Once in game click the menu button (that is below the big red button) and it brings up a set of options including the hotkeys. As far as I am aware this is the only way to access them. P
  21. Christ I'm impressed you remember that - it was a long time ago !! P
