  1. In my valuation one PBEM game's value is about the same as going to see a movie. So using that pricing new modules are very cheap.
  2. Agree about terrain being real. I like best those scenarios where the map looks as if people live/use the village etc, not that it has been designed to make some battle details possible, like defending easier. Especially bocage: is it like artificial labyrinth or defense fortress - or is it like the fields were used for farming? Google Maps Street View is a great tool for checking how things really look like.
  3. Now that PS4 has been released in some countries one of the new features that some people seem to like is the ability to broadcast your game play to others while you play. Like if you were playing H2H CM game in real time mode and other people could watch how things progress. Not from a Youtube recording after the game has ended, but from live stream. As if it was on TV.
  4. IMO there were some excellent CMSF scenarios. Both in those that were included with the game, but also user made. Had there been better QB system I might still play it. Some very interesting weapons that made playing fun.
  5. Yes, I meant H2H QBs. I don't play much against the AI. At least while there are no triggers
  6. If testing scenarios seems to take too much effort it would be great if such maps were made available just as QB maps. There are never too many good QB maps.
  7. I was a bit puzzled during updating because Setup UI says it's 2.0 update, not 2.11.
  8. Be careful with file renaming though. Just noticed that a file that should have included some capitalized words wasn't recognized by H2HH when it had been renamed so that file name was all lowercased.
  9. Demo charges aren't always available. And if there's enemy behind the bocage your demo charger man may be dead before he has even attempted cutting a hole.
  10. Some people here have been playing Coop game(s). Maybe they could give an update on how things have gone?
  11. Yes: sometimes it would be great to target a wall or fence - not the ground where those things are.
  12. Why not add it to Battlefront Repository? http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314
  13. I haven't experienced this in 2.10 yet, but in some older versions crews attitude was as if they were still *inside* the tank and protected by it.
  14. The tweaks to tank spotting and how infantry weapons work have taken the game big step forward IMO. Things look much more realistic now. Advancing towards unspotted enemy is much more difficult because you can't immediately spot where the firing comes from. AT guns may keep firing several times before becoming spotted. Very good for the East front game.
  15. I can also confirm that crossing that bridge didn't look like what would have happened with old, pre-MarketGarden bridges at all. Much slower.
  16. Self driving cars development seems quick. Now a self driving Audi is participating Pike's Peak race that has so far been challenging for human drivers. http://news.stanford.edu/news/2010/february1/shelley-pikes-peak-020310.html
  17. In a scenario I'm playing there is a small ditch with some water in it. A small bridge (infantry only) goes over the ditch. the bug: Opel Blitz lorry reversed along the ditch bank, *through* the bridge as if the bridge wasn't there at all - instead of going around the bridge.
  18. What about this small issue - bug or not? a Panther has been hit so that the main gun is damaged. MGs should be functional. I can give the tank Target command but NOT Target Light command. Why not allow Target Light if MGs are ok?
  19. One thing I've been wondering while playing version 2.1: how many bullet hits (some penetrations) should a jeep or similar small vehicle be able to survive before it immobilizes? The situation I just saw was a MG42 firing this multipurpose vehicle from 250m distance, exactly the direction where they were driving . Several bursts hit from front and the vehicle just kept driving.
  20. But now hedrows and similar LOS blocking things are like a magic shield that gives defending units much more protection than really was the case. If you think about the title of this thread, which one protects more IRL - a building or hedgerow? I surely wouldn't seek cover behind a hedgerow even if the threat was armed with just a pistol, let alone some automatic weapon.
  21. Talking about chucking HE: I think it would be great if we could give a command to throw hand grenades and similar things to places where a unit does NOT have LOS. Like behind a bocage or wall. Now especially bocage gives too good cover IMO. I don't think many real soldiers would stay behind hedgerow if they think enemy can start putting MG area fire to it. Or throw hand grenades.
  22. Unmanned helicopter Fire Scout MQ-8C, first flight Oct 31th and an earlier model copter in weapon test https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northrop_Grumman_MQ-8_Fire_Scout
  23. I hope it's ok to handle this topic. Not a competetive game, but more about the level of technology in next generation game consoles. Here's some game play footage about games for PS4 that will be released next month. Very nice IMO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNwEW1tktF8#t=94
  24. I think it was mostly used when some important goal like crossing a river was attempted. The river could be covered with smoke to prevent defense fire during the most vulnerable part of the attack. Many times smoke shells probably weren't available for "normal" routine arty use.
