  1. You can't access it once the guys are in the act of bailing, but you can pause after a hit and check the damage before they bail and you'll see what's what. If you play in RT you have to be super quick. LOL. Speaking of bailing, I hope that's something they address in the new version of SF. Crews had a tendency to bail immediately after being hit, like before the explosion animation stopped, I always found that unrealistic. It should take a couple seconds at least. As far as I can tell that doesn't happen in the 4.0 era of CM, it's a more believable amount of time. Mord.
  2. I can't tell for sure from the short video but it seems to me like you should be scrolling faster on both of them. If you keep one of the keys pushed in (WASD) do you start to go faster or was that as fast as you ever get? Mord.
  3. Do you have any way to take a video? If I could see it I could compare it with how mine runs. Mord.
  4. Cool. Glad it worked out. I've had bad installs a few times with CMSF and CMBN but it was always due to screwing up the patch order. So, you can pan, and rotate and the like without it sticking? Mord.
  5. Send him a link to a good play through. Trying the CMBO/BB/AK demo is quite a different experience than playing BN or FI. This guy MUST be MADE to UNDERSTAND! Mord.
  6. Do you play CMSF on your comp? If not try that demo and see how that runs. And maybe check your settings in Nvidia control panel, see if you have something on that may be conflicting. Mord.
  7. @Schrullenhaft; You are a saint, my friend. I have seen you help many players over the years (myself included), and man, you truly went to bat on this one. I tip my hat to you and thank you on behalf of all of us who have roamed these forums since the early days. You are truly appreciated. Mord.
  8. LOL. Ah, good. I was like is he STILL trying to decide? That would make for some loooong games. Personally, I'd fast move them and take my chances. Slow, would most likely cause even more casualties, unless they could break LOS/LOF within 10-20 secs. Mord.
  9. Is this a theoretical tactical discussion or are you trying to decide a move? Mord.
  10. I installed it on RT the other day. When I accessed it in game my camera began spinning in circles uncontrollably. It about made me sick even though the control panel with the settings stayed still. Then when I logged out back to the editor menu the mouse left permanent trails where ever it moved. Mord.
  11. Yeah, it's weird that it would act different. S*** can be very frustrating. Are your drivers up to date? I am running driver 23.21.13.8813 on my card. Mord.
  12. That was about as funny as someone making the traditional fake "I'm downloading now" post. However, I didn't fall for it 'cause I read Ian's post first and then page one. LOL. You are cruel Aragorn...so, so cruel! Mord.
  13. You are welcome. My guess is there might be some issue with your hardware config. That's all I can think of. The only way you are gonna know is if you buy the main title, but I don't see how it'll be much different from the demo. But you never know. It's a gamble. You are gonna have to decide whether it's worth it. They basically phoned it in. The textures are 256x256 but even so, they just don't have any, well, texture to them. ALL CM2 bmps (and wavs) can be modded. It's no different than any of the other titles. The ones they made (uniforms especially) are just so smooth and flat looking. The shoulder boards on the Russian infantry is a glaring example, looks like someone just filled a rectangle with a red color in Adobe and called it good. It's something a first time modder would do not a professional game artist. The original uniforms in CMBO were done better. I am usually very lenient in my criticism of CM graphics (which I actually find very nice in the other titles) but CMA's stuff is just poorly done. Take a look at the wheels on some of the tanks some time. They pretty much mirrored them, which doesn't make much sense considering the Muj and Soviet faces are presented like SF faces. I don't ever swap vehicles out of the games, never see a need for it. From what I gather though, model swapping sounds like it's over in the newer titles. I haven't tested it but I read something Vein posted and I am pretty sure that was his finding. So, no mixed Syrian Combatants in SF2. Mord.
  14. Sorry, @Kevinkin, this really didn't go where you wanted it to. At least we are talking about RT, if that's any consolation. Mord.
  15. I think a big part of the release order strategy has to do with how many models can be recycled for each new module/family. For example; the next module will have a lot of Lend Lease which can all be gleaned from the years of content that has been produced for CMBN/FI/and even FB. That's a ton of work right there. You figure what ever they take from those will basically just have to be retextured, compared to building completely brand new models + texturing. It's a smart move for them, but maybe not as exciting for those that pine for earlier periods in the setting. I'm personally looking forward to this particular piece of stupid. I have a fetish for all the weird looking stuff, hence my love of Hetzers, PSW 234-&3s, Jpz IV (70v), Archer, Priest, M8 etc. Hopefully after this hump of set backs (FI) we'll see more releases, sooner, over the next year or two—lots of fun stuff to look forward to regardless. Between what Total War has coming and Combat Mission, I am gonna need a feeding tube put in. Mord.
  16. Ok. I DLed the demo, and ran some tests on the Bear/Wasp scenario. I ran with different variations of model and texture quality, high priority process on and off, and vertical sync on and off. I played through about 7 turns giving lots of move orders to all the vehicles, plus infantry disembarking and what not. I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. It all functioned normal for me. I will say though, that it didn't feel as fluid as later games (frame rate wise), like CMBS and RT, but that I believe is due more to the age of the engine at this version in time and not a conflict. SF is the same way. However, I do gotta say, Snowball, really cheaped out on the textures they used. I forgot how depressingly basic the uniform and face quality in this game is. It's too bad BFC couldn't buy the rights, or talk SB into bringing this one over to 4.0. It really is a unique (and rare period) addition to the CM family. Mord.
  17. Is there a page in there that tells you that you turned the icons off, so to stop you from coming to the boards to exclaim how all your icons are missing in game? LMAO! I am pretty sure I did that in the SF early days. Mord.
  18. I go through this with modding, a lot. I'll get a technique down, or figure something out and then forget it after I take a break. I've learned hex editing three times since CMSF came out, and have completely forgotten again. But apparently BFC pulled the plug on that altogether from what I gather. So, I guess the last time I learned it was actually the last time. Mord.
  19. @Mordran, every time I see your name I think it's me. Yeah, I was testing wav files the other day trying to find some good sounds and noticed the Bren only taking single shots and I thought it was weird. I would at least thought a three shot burst or something. It's not much on suppression at one pop every five to 10 seconds. Mord.
  20. So, did you take the turn yet, or still deciding? Mord.
  21. I am running the full game at 1.03 with an 8GB MSI GTX 1080 GAMING X, and a i7-7700k CPU. I loaded one of the bigger city maps, and it scrolled about like it does in any of the other games. It definitely didn't stutter, or skip, or freeze. As far as I remember the game was released before the demo so most of us never even tried it, we were already playing the full version. Check and see if you have "High Priority Process" enabled in the options. If you do, turn it off and see what happens. If you don't, turn it on and see what happens. That was an old feature that was kinda needed in the early days of the engine, but then became a problem, at least for me. The engine is so old at this point it could be a problem turned on or off, depending. Mord.
  22. Hence the reason it wasn't Oscar worthy, Emmy AND Tony winning! The "voice acting" from the "in-game sound". C'mon man, work with me here! Hint: Whenever your men shout an order, it sounds like I something I would say. Mord.
  23. Yeah, that's what I was saying, after the next RT module. Once that has been released (and barring packs of any sort they might issue for Red Thunder) the next EF title will be the first in the series to actually jump backward in time. My question is will the base game start in 43 and make it's way to May of 44 through modules? Or will they start the base game in January to May of 44 and go to 43 with modules? Regardless I hope we get a slew of releases this coming year. I love all the titles so I get excited for each one. Mord.
